Excellent location. Exceptional facilities
Difficult to find at night. Busy road, so care needed.

The location was fabulous and the cottage was fantastic. The kitchen was equipped with everything you would need, including an air fryer, and the wifi was excellent. The space outside at the front was perfect to enjoy a glass or two after our long hikes., not to mention the views.
Brian, the owner, was very helpful and a such a friendly fella, and is rightly proud of what he has achieved in renovating this old building.
Nothing to dislike.
Just a word of warning about taxis, nothing to do with the cottage per se, but I think it best to tell you of our experience.
We ordered a taxi from a firm based in Buxton to take us the 3 miles or so into Chapel. The driver said he was based locally in Chapel but still charged us £13.50, EACH WAY. I should have asked him to explain but it had been a long day. Needless to say I don't think he used the meter because he asked us how much he charged at the drop of.
Please be warned.

Brian and the local farm animals were very friendly. The location was also brilliant as a quiet spot, short drive to amenities and close to many of the peak Districts brilliant attractions. The cottage was well equipped with everything you might need, including a full set of kitchenware/crockery and for the evening the TV can be connected up to Netflix.

The cottage is finished to a high standard and just like new throughout with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is ideal as a base for touring the Peak District with the likes of Winnats Pass minutes away and Buxton and Castleton nearby.
A bit of care needs to be taken on the entrance drive if your car is low.

We picked Peacock Cottage for 2 reasons.
1, The location was perfect for the Caverns, Buxton, the Dams etc...
2, The photos made the cottage look great. And the photos were spot on! The host, Brian, has done an amazing job to make it a welcoming and comfortable Cottage. Parking is right at the Cottage. Everything you could need for a comfortable stay is provided. Just a couple of miles away are decent sized Supermarkets too. If you have children, they will love the attic room with a great view of the hill behind the Cottage.
I will definitely be keeping an eye on bookings so that I can plan a return visit.
I have nothing bad to say at all. And the Visitors book confirms that neither did anyone else!
This really was a relaxing stay.
Nothing at all! It was all great.

Brian the owner made it so very special. The cottage itself got character, we loved it. Definitely coming back here. Children loved it as its on working farm where they could see all the animals, also managed to feed the peacock! Amazing experience and looking forward to come back.

Such a comfy, warm place with so much character, one of the best I ever been to. Because of the heavy snow, the landlord, looked after us very well the whole time. Spotless, spacious, all the utilities you wish for. You can go for a walk (steep) just behind the house and so much to do in the area. Farm shop at a walking distance which also do excellent food. Great location, in a peaceful area.
Nothing really, was perfect.

This is our second visit there and we're likely to return again. Ideal for two couples or family of four.

Lovely scenery, cottage is beautiful with all the amenities you could ask for. Lovely touch from Brian with flowers and wine on arrival. Host is very friendly and accommodating & a gorgeous Peacock who we named ‘Dave’ as a guess for the weekend.
Could hear the cars from the Main road, but it didn’t ruin our stay in anyway.

Everything about Peacock Cottage was excellent. Brian, the owner, had thought of everything and the cottage was a super ‘home from home’. The location was super, close to everything in the Peak District. Big thanks to Brian for his friendly communication and helpfulness.
