We were thrilled to return for the third consecutive year for our family vacation week at this magical home. Our family includes 6 adults, 1 school age child, 1 preschool age child and a one year old. The comfortable furnishings, cleanliness and spaciousness of the home along with a seemingly endless source of activities provide each family member with utmost comfort and so many opportunities for fun!! Our days included swimming in the beautiful pool, boating, and building sand castles at the beach. Our meals were enhanced by the expansive kitchen and BBQ equipment and many evenings ended with s’mores at the fire pit. My husband and I feel indebted to the owners of this home for helping us to be such generous parents and fun grandparents!!

My family of 5 adults and 2 teenagers had an absolute blast at this 6-bedroom vacation home. The home had everything you could possibly need, from the chef kitchen to the wonderful sun room/dining room, living room, and pool table room, to the GREAT outdoor in-ground pool!!! It is one of the very best summer vacation homes we have gone to over the past several years. We would definitely enjoy going to back to this property in the future and would recommend it to family and friends!

We visited this beautiful home for a weekend away with our teen children and a few friends for a ski weekend. We loved the pool table it was fun for adults and kids. The fire place was really nice in the winter for a fun family evening snuggled up by the fire playing games. The beds are super comfy and memory foam and bedding soft and comfortable. Only suggestion is to turn heat down before bed, it works well, too well. While its an old house it has been updated with new windows, double dishwashers, country sink, kitchen has everything you need and enjoy for modern living. Meredith gives you information on the house in her 37 page guide she sends out which can be a bit intimidating but turned out to be most helpful when understanding how to use the espresso machine, procedures for check out, or where to eat nearby. It offers a bit of everything. I would love to stay in the home during the summer as it has what looks like an amazing pool, near the lake and firepit with grill etc, all of which we did not get to use during our stay. Even though the snow wasnt great we were able to go shopping in nearby Great Barrington and have lunch at the Red Lion Inn. Very centrally located to all the things we wanted to do and see. We would definitely stay here again and give it the best rating. Thanks again.

We have been renting homes in the Berkshires for our three generation family vacation for the past 9 years.
We discovered this home on Queechy Lake last summer and immediately knew we had found a gem.
This home combines the charm of a structure dating from the 1800s with a beautiful renovation, modern and comfortable decorating and every up to date appliance and entertainment option one could want. The home and grounds are impeccably maintained, the bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed, comfortable and clean, and the indoor and outdoor kitchens make every meal prep an exciting adventure. The hosts are attentive and helpful with even the smallest concern.
We were thrilled to return this year for our second summer and, although we couldn’t imagine that this perfect home could be any better, the addition of a pool was such a blast! The beauty of the pool matched their commitment to excellence reflected in all the features of this home. As an example of their superb attention to detail, they provide an easy to follow YouTube video explaining the pool’s heater.
It is clear that the Singer-Crew family cherish their home and know how to have fun!! My family joins me in
thanking them for providing us with the setting and amenities that truly guarantee a joyful family vacation.
We are hoping to return in 2024!

We had perfect family vacations at Queechy Lake house. We stayed there for a week with our grandchildren, our children came only for the weekend and everybody was having a great time. The house is great, with everything people might hope for perfect vacations: big house, spacious and well equipped kitchen ( every single kitchen gadget for most sophisticated cooks in presence), with a huge number of entertainment options for children and adults (games and toys, Peloton and pool table, pinball machine). Private beach, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats on the lake and in-ground large swimming pool made our summer vacations perfect. The hosts are extremely responsive and helpful. We all, adults and children likewise, had a great time.

Our group had an amazing time at this place! The house is filled with so many fun and interesting things, it’s impossible to be bored here. We especially liked taking the canoes out for a quick trip around the lake. The impressive indoor/outdoor kitchen areas even made cooking for a big group fun. The only negative thing I can say is that our stay was too short to fully appreciate everything this place had to offer, we’ll definitely plan to stay longer next time!

We have rented homes in the Berkshires for an extended family vacation for the past seven consecutive summers. And we can honestly say that this home on Queechy Lake far surpassed the other homes in a multitude of ways. Additionally, the wonders of this home truly went beyond the written descriptions and our expectations
Our family vacation includes our two adult children, their spouses and our grandsons, now ages three and seven. This home combines the charm of a long history stretching back to the 1800s with a beautiful renovation, modern and comfortable decorating and every up to date appliance and entertainment option one could want. The home and grounds are impeccably maintained, the bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed, comfortable, and clean and the indoor and outdoor kitchens made every meal prep an exciting adventure. The hosts are attentive and helpful with even the smallest concern. What truly topped it all off are the private dock outfitted with boats and life jackets and the access to a pristine private beach club. The peace and comfort of the Singer-Crew home combined with the fantastic amenities made for a stress free family time filled with much joy and laughter.

Beautiful time there. The hosts were great and in constant contact to make sure we had everything we needed. The house was incredible and the lake was the cherry on top. We would love to go back!

Beautiful Property in Ideal Location- Wonderful Vacation!!
Thank you for hosting three generations of our family, who gathered to celebrate our daughter's graduation from RPI. We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful property. The house is well cared for beautifully decorated, and offers lots of options for family fun and gatherings- fire pit, pinball machine, huge kitchen and large dining area. We were so busy exploring the local trails that we didn't even have a chance to take advantage of the water toys! Great communication with the thoughtful owner too. THANK YOU!

Perfect weekend getaway!
The Queechy House was everything we were looking for and more in a weekend escape from the city. The house itself is brimming with charm - from the gorgeous, Nancy Meyers-worthy kitchen stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook a fabulous meal, to the incredibly cozy common areas and bright, comfortable bedrooms and breathtaking views of the lake! Meredith and Jason were wonderful hosts, making sure we had everything we needed in advance to take full advantage of their home, outdoor activities and the surrounding local towns. I'd highly recommend The Queechy House for anyone in need of some R&R and time in nature - especially if you're looking for an escape from city living!

Not only was the property incredible but the hosts were equally as amazing. We had a reference book outlining everything we could possibly imagine! We knew exactly where to go locally and it had a lot of other useful information. The beds were comfortable and the house was so organized so it was easy to find everything we needed. When we had a question the hosts responded immediately. We would absolutely stay here again!

Winter Getaway
This beautiful older house in Canaan is wonderful! Meredith was quick to answer any questions we had before and after renting their home. Right off the main streets, it is easy to get to and even with bad weather (which we had rain, ice, and snow showers) traveling was a piece of cake. They kept a bucket of salt for the walkway and stairs.
The house itself is cozy, but with lots of room. We had a group of seven with a bedroom for each and more than enough space for everyone. Plenty of dishes and glassware and two dishwashers to boot. Would have liked a microwave for re-heating food, but the kitchen itself is amazing. The Wi-fi worked perfectly even with everyone online. Owners left an informative house manual that gave plenty of tips around the house and around the area itself. What it didn't answer, we found the property managers extremely helpful.
This house is stocked with indoor games and outdoor toys. Our two dogs were even relaxed. We enjoyed our stay and would imagine being across from the lake in summer would be even more fun.

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!
My family and I spent a lovely Christmas holiday at the house on Queechy Lake. The house could not have been more perfect. The kitchen was beyond incredible. (If you like to cook, this is the kitchen for you.) Everything was wonderfully organized and clean. There was also more than enough room for everyone. It just felt like home. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. My family and I would like to shout out a VERY HUGE thank you to the hosts for sharing their gorgeous home with us for the holidays.

A perfect weekend!
My friends and I had an amazing time staying here! We were a group of 11 people and everyone had plenty of space to spread out. The huge kitchen was beautiful and perfect for cooking group meals. The lake is really nice and we enjoyed walking and boating to the beach. We had a fun afternoon in the yard at the house with every lawn game you could imagine. We loved this place and hope to go back next year!

Space, proximity, and quiet
This house served every purpose for our annual gathering. Meredith and Jason provided us with many details about the area and within the house which were very helpful. We loved the access to the dock and availability of boats and kayaks in great condition to use. The proximity to hiking trails a short drive away and good food options made us very happy as well. Further, the house comfortably sleeped our whole group and provided a good blend of privacy but also rooms for communal meetings and games. A wonderful summer stay!

Nice house, great location, some improvements needed.
The house was only 20 minutes from Jiminy Peak Ski Resort. The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and had a warm feeling to it. The kitchen was magnificent, and well equipped with an amazing Wolfe stove and an extensive array of cooking equipment. The wood fireplace was simply delightful and was the main entertainment after skiing. We also enjoyed the pool table and Sonos sound system. One thing that we didn’t like was the limited seating around the fireplace and tv. There was one couch and two comfy chairs for 15 of us. We ended up moving the couch and chair from the pool table room into the fireplace tv room so that there was enough seating for everyone. Another problem was the outside grill. It is a big beautiful grill, but the burners did not receive ample propane to burn properly. After trying to grill steaks outside, we gave up and cooked the steaks inside. One other complaint is that the owner left the temporary air conditioning units in the windows, and we had snow blowing into the bedrooms. I had to spend time pulling out nailed wooden stoppers to open the windows and take a couple of the air conditioning units out. The owner apologized for leaving them in. The house has nice yards on both sides of the house, but the front of the house is close to a road with the lake on the other side. The back of the house has a very close neighbor that has a view into one of the upstairs bathrooms. One final note, we did enjoying going to the bar restaurant that was walking distance down the road. All in all, it was a lovely house and we enjoyed our stay. I would stay there again.

Great house for our family reunion. Plenty of space for everyone.
We had a great weekend stay at this charming farmhouse. Perfect location for our reunion half of our family coming from New York City and the other half from Boston. So much to do in the area. The large gourmet kitchen made cooking in a big group really fun and the bedroom configuration worked out great for us. We also really enjoyed the lake right across the road and hanging out on the front porch.

Not really ready to rent
This is a spacious home on a neck of Queechy lake near Canaan, NY. It will be a nice place for a multi-generation family reunion. The owners are helpful and accommodating and have lots of information about the area.
However, if you are interested in the house, there are a few things you should know. The house is still in the process of being refurbished. There is peeling paint, some of the furniture is in need of repair, there is an old junked car in the yard, there are rotting window sills, the gate does not close well with the old frayed rope which is on it. The house is near a busy road with heavy traffic noise at times, the beach is a mile away but along a road which is too busy to walk on with kids. The lake in front of the house is full of lily pads and duck weed- so not ideal for swimming. On the upside, the bedrooms and baths are rustic but nicely furnished, the kitchen is well equipped for a large group, there are a lot of games and sports equipment and the yard is very large with a great fire pit. There are kayaks and canoes which can be launched from the dock in front of the house. It is a beautiful area and close to many attractions in the Berkshires. At this point, it is a better rental for a group of adults than a family with young kids.

A spacious home in an ideal location
We had a lovely time - there was ample room for multiple families (four families with 1-2 kids each) and the location was great for our needs. With so much to do both inside and outside of the house, we were never bored! Between trips to a quiet beach nearby, taking kayaks/canoes out on the water, kids playing board games and parents playing pool, we enjoyed making memorable meals in the chef's kitchen. It was a very comfortable stay and we would do it all over again. The owners were very responsive and easy to work with. Thank you!

Great property for family or large group
Our family had a great time here. There were 12 of us including some young grandchildren. The house has tons of space and lots of character. We appreciated all the nice quality amenities, easy access to the lake with several boating options, plenty of towels, big fenced in yard with fire pit and lawn games. We definitely plan to return next year.

Ideal home for a group
This house was amazing! We had a group of three couples, 6 kids under 5, and for one night another couple and baby. There was plenty of space. The kids loved the grounds and exploring the house. It was peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. The location was also great being near many of the adorable small towns in the area. Would love to come back!

Our Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Canaan
Our family's time in Canaan was great. The home is spacious,
neat/ immaculate with plenty of room for our family of 10-12..The gourmet kitchen was fantastic! Beds were very comfortable . The side lawn was great fun for the kids with nerf football and frisbee. Since there was still snow on the ground we went tubing close by at Bousquet ski area .Our hosts were wonderful to work with -providing a detailed handbook filled with great info about the home, and surrounding area. .Thank you Meredith and Jason for sharing yout home with our family!

Fantastic Place for a Large Group
We stayed here with a group of 14 adults on a frigid weekend in November. Despite our reluctance to brave the outdoors, the house had plenty of room and plenty of activities for us to have a great weekend. The ground floor is essentially a continuous hang-out area, with the entryway / poolroom leading into the living room, then the kitchen and dining room. There was plenty of space for all 14 of us in the living room alone (where we kept a fire going pretty much the whole time). There was a good supply of blankets and board games, a Sonos system for music, and an Apple TV for college football. Meanwhile, the upstairs has a whole complex of bedrooms that were perfect for our group (a mix of couples and singles) – everyone had a bed, and there was no significant wait time for bathrooms or showers. On the few occasions that we did make it out of the house, we could tell that this would be a great area for exploring outdoors as well. There's a nice pub within walking distance, and we'd love to come back to take advantage of the lake.
If you do stay here, I HIGHLY recommend cooking your own food. The kitchen setup is incredible – the oven has built-in grill and griddle plates, and the central island has plenty of room for 4 - 5 people to do food prep simultaneously. We made some really delicious meals during our stay, and a lot of credit for that goes to the kitchen.
A couple notes (didn't detract from our experience, but may be good to keep in mind):
- They have a Nest system that heats the house quite well, but it takes a couple hours to fully kick in. It was very cold when we first got there, and this is probably true for all winter guests. We just lit a fire and put on sweaters, and by the evening the house was quite comfortable.
- The kitchen outlets can short-circuit pretty easily. It's no problem to troubleshoot – just flip the switch on the circuit breaker in the basement – but this happened to us a couple times.
Overall, I highly recommend this house for a large group. It's a perfect half-way meeting point between Boston and New York City, and it has all the amenities I could have dreamed of for our weekend trip. Meredith and Jason are very responsive and helpful, and they provide a great guidebook with explanations for everything in the house and recommendations for nearby activities.
