The breakfast was excellent - one of the best which we have had in Spain. The room was large, with a mini fridge. The staff were super helpful.
The bed was rather hard, as were the pillows. The central heating is a bit antiquated.

Location was good.
The Parador has lost it's oomph and in need of serious work internally. I understand that it is an historic building but it needs clever work on the bedrooms. Yes, keep the dark ancient wood but brighten up other things. Yes, we want to stay in an ancient monument but don't ask guests to put up with quality from the 18th century. We booked a Junior Suite, great. In fact the sitting area was dark and dingy, smelt of ancient old curtains and was not fit for purpose.
The night before we stayed at the Hospes in Salamanca. It was an ancient historical gem but it was well maintained.

The breakfast was superb and the ham and cheese omlettes were delicious.
The coffee from the dining room machine was better than the kitchen made coffee.

Wonderful historic building in a supremely well conserved settlement. Relaxed atmosphere
No kettle in the bedroom. No means of making a hot drink in your room

Location was excellent with (paid) car parking available on site. We didn't take breakfast at the hotel as it was an additional EUR20 per person and there are plenty of cafes in the town.

It's a Parador in a closed road pretty village. Great food. Secure parking on site.
Village popular with tourists which is fine if you like that sort of thing.

We have now stayed here many times. We like it more and more each time we stay. Beautiful town, beautiful building, gorgeous rooms (we had a suite) and very friendly staff.
Finding the parador through the narrow, cobbled streets. Despite having been here many times we always take the wrong streets and end up getting lost. SatNavs don't help! Signposting from the main road through the streets of the old town would be very helpful.

It was an authentic, spacious and stylish.
the service was a bit impersonal and the price for breakfast was too high, as we could enjoy breakfast in another hotel where our friends stayed for a half price

Trip hazards at the entrance, on the stairs and other locations.

4.5
Lovely old building, beautiful polished flagstone floors.
Friendly staff, good breakfast.
Central location.
Only problem was people partying into the early hours (3/4am) outside our bedroom window.
4.0
The location right in the centre. The historic building and the beautiful terrace of the restaurant.
The amenities are old and in need of renovation. The air conditioning did not work correctly and the mattresses old.

The location was SPECTACULAR !! They weren’t able to accomodate rooms next to each other but they upgraded one of the rooms for the same price and we were stull on the same hallway. The parador was absolutely lovely, only to be outdone by the staff : Sol, Javi and Jose. They were consummate professionals. The housekeeping room service had the room picked up and tidy as though it was being turned over for a new client. The room was IMPECCABLY clean
I can’t think of anything I didn’t like !

Fantastic building, decor and location.
Only one thing: while front-desk and breakfast staff were stellar, one member of the wait staff the evening we dined at the Parador was quite sour, and spoiled the atmosphere in the room.

Typical Parador with character. Love the shuttered windows.
Bathroom quite cramped.
