Large well appointed room with adjoining twin room and comfortable beds. Excellent salmon dish for dinner. Easy parking behind hotel.
Bathroom - Would have preferred a non slip mat in bath shower.

Our room was very clean with a beautiful view of the sea estuary. The bed was super comfy and the evening meal was delightful.

The staff were very pleasant. The hotel was overall very nice. Food was good.
We had the accessible room. We felt that this room severely lacked privacy. The accessible room is on the ground floor, the room door opens immediately to reception and the front door of the hotel, the restaurant and bar are not far away either. The door provides very little sound insolation, if any. Whilst in bed you can hear everything that is going on in reception. You can hear the hustle and bustle of the bar and restaurant. The window to the room is single pane and is street level, people are constantly walking past the window and they can see into the bedroom. This made myself and my partner feel very exposed and we did not feel comfortable in the room.

Like isn't a good enough word. We loved everything.
We had an afternoon tea booked with a ride on the Ravenglass Eskdale Railway for my birthday and decided to make a weekend of it. We arrived earlier than expected and managed to book in for the evening meal. We weren't disappointed, the food is excellent. So much so, we booked again for the second night. The staff are amazing and so so friendly and can't do enough for you. Thank you again for the toothpaste. I would also just like to mention Lily-May, who makes the perfect cup of tea. We are now wondering when we have a free weekend to go back.
The only thing we didn't like was having to come home.

This was a return visit and as previously did not disappoint. Staff are unfailingly welcoming, friendly, helpful and deserve every commendation for that. Food is of a high standard and the breakfast choice is excellent. Windows open in the bedrooms - a huge thumbs up for me - too many hotels have no opening windows. The Pennington is well managed, well priced and well worth a visit.
A very very small niggle for me is there is no lift to upper floors - on last stay was able to get an accessible room o the ground floor. However, a very helpful young lady carried my case upstairs for me so the lack of a lift was in no way a major issue.

lovely location staff excellent very chilled atmosphere.Dog friendly Separate dinning room where you can take you dogs while eating .

Very clean and modern bathrooms. Beautiful location with some stunning sunset views.
Dinner could have been tastier. but being in a remote village does not give you much choice tbh.

We choose a dog friendly room, the room was spacious with huge comfortable bed. Lovely tidy room with ensuite shower.
We arrived late and left early with the hotel being very good with arranging breakfast early. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

the staff, the food, the rooms, the bar and the location

the staff were friendly
the lounge / bar was comfortable but the room had a very low beam and was a issue to remember to bend down
the surroundings were scruffy - every time felt dead

We had a lovely sea view room, though on the ground floor so on view to passersby. Windows opened for the sea air and room was nice. Parking is first come first served behind the hotel and could be a bit tight on the dirt lot. The breakfast was good and the dinner was very good in the hotel dinning room, but reservations should be booked BEFORE you arrive even for residents.
Room was once lovely, but needed a bit of maintenance like the shower head kept dropping down and the overstuffed chair arms badly needed to be steam cleaned.
4.3
A nice hotel, with pleasant decor and friendly, accommodating staff.
We had everything we needed. The location was perfect for the train station and steam railway.
The food was ok, but could have been better.
4.3
The food was amazing so much choice on the menu and generally good value form money when on a Half board
The packed lunch was expensive
4.3
Very pleasant rooms, we had everything we needed. Helpful and accommodating staff. Nice decor. Very handy for the train station and the Ravenglass to Eskdale steam train.
The food was ok, but could have been better.
4.3
Food excellent, staff pleasant and helpful
Gluten free menu, vital for me
Room good size and clean
Fantastic view
Extra large bed very comfy
The guttering outside the bedroom number 2 window is leaking, resulting in water damage in the bedroom window, it was really noisy pouring down the window. The bathroom door opens onto the toilet literally! making access difficult.
The gluten free menu is great but need a gluten free breakfast menu please.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and plentiful. A good location for the nearby railway stations (mainline and miniature). It was a very enjoyable stay. Thanks to all concerned.

Breakfast was wonderful and filled me up for the day. Evening meal was good too.
The staff are lovely and welcoming.
The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful and there are good places to visit.
Our room overlooked the carpark but we didn't mind.
