Best Western Thurrock

I stay at this hotel on a regular basis and find it very convenient, comfortable and enjoy staying here. The rooms are a very good size and the hotel has real character. The staff are extremely helpful and nothing is too much if you need their help.

Sadly on my last stay (Sunday 12th) room 219, the TV did not work, curtains would not draw and heating wuld not come on.

Ridiculous amounts of party noise until the early hours of the morning.Extremley poor

Comfortable. Clean tidy rooms. Good breakfast. Helpful staff. Good location.

Receptionist really helpful and so welcoming

No bedside lamp Only light switch for the room is by the door. So at night, have to turn room light off at door, then gamble crossing the room in the dark. So either install a second switch by the bed. Or cheap and simple option buy some bed side lights! Madness.

Good hotel just had poor experience with the gnats

Breakfast was good and bed was comfortable

Room was full of gnats, very uncomfortable, bad sleep because of it. Window was closed so no idea how the got in

Very clean good breakfast

The room was lovely clean and comfortable

We was on the far end of the hotel no lifts lots of stairs with all our bags my son has Astma so was a nightmare going up and down them. There was a party in the garden where our room was and we could here the music until very late and we have a early rise as the room was quite cold

The room was not all that neat ,it was having an unpleasant smell there ,the bed outmoded ,and the washroom was also in a bad condition the corridors all smell very bad

Exceptional

Even though its around the m25 A13 garden makes it tranquil .. and it's located near a now abandoned thurrock football club .. to which I played many a game on.. showers was brilliant.. room just right size for me. Staff great.. breakfast great.. value for money..

Unfortunately outside main building work going on with a patio of some sort .. front doors not operating properly.. but nothing that spoilt my stay there.. I know that's not the norm ..

I had an amazing time thank you Thurrock hotel.

The service was amazing I don’t temper the girls name on reception (brown hair blonde streak) but she was so polite and helpful thank you and thank you to Zoe and Kirsty for being amazing and thank you Wendy for the wonderful breakfast it was by far the best breakfast hands down also Richard is a amazing night manager he is always there to help anytime of the night he’s always available to help so thank you Richard.

Nothing I had an amazing time because of the staff and the location of the hotel.

Very poor

We went for a fiftieth birthday party, so the location was excellent. The room was big and spacious.

The standard, decor and much more was old and dated . There was cobwebs all over the windows and in the bathroom. There was a pooy smell in the corridors The net curtains leading to the bedrooms were old and dirty. The hotel in general needs updating.

It was ideal for what we wanted from out stay

Breakfast was brilliant and the hotel staff were lovely.

the room was a little dated, and the bath taps nearly come off the bath. Heard running water all night from the room above really load, thought the ceiling was going to fall in!

The bed was comfortable, overall it was good.

I could not turn off the heating and the room was too hot. the bathroom had a smell. The breakfast was ok.

better than a budget hotel.

getting much better. everything in room worked. seem to have renovated many rooms over past year or two - so getting much better room

needs more attention to cleaning and tidying - especially car park and corridors

Very cold in room heating was on timer and had summer quilt on the bed

The cold room the heating should have been on all the time during my stay when I got back from night out the room was freezing the heating didn’t come on until the morning I had to go to bed in my coat I will not stay there again I should have booked Premier Inn

relaxing budget hotel

suited me well. chilling weekend. staff were nice and check in was hassle free. rooms seem to be getting better - or maybe that’s my imagination

everything inside the door of hotel was excellent. some issues in car park but what can they do. smokers. people loitering and someone sleeping in a campervan. all a bit strange and a little bit off-putting. but I’m not complaining

nice room this stay. I like the staff here I’ve stayed here before and it’s been a bit hectic with weddings but on this occasion it was peaceful and staff were particularly nice. room was a big upgrade on past visits

this may sound strange but when I give good reviews for hotels I can subsequently find them hard to get booked into - so it can be self defeating.

Ok for just a night .

Parking & breakfast were ok. staff were pleasant.

Creaking floors everywhere & I was bitten everywhere by either bed bugs or mosquitoes. Maybe a one off?? Also signs in the car park warning of potential vehicle break ins & to be prepared which does cause a little unease.

I was dissapointed.

The staff were accommodating and friendly

The property has no lift, they sent me email that there's no restaurant and room service from Friday-Sun only they will only serve the breakfast. The hotel has no proper domestic staff they put the dirty laundry outside the room no hamper its so unhygienic and the linen cupboard is like a storage room its so dusty and unhygienic as well. Whenever you are walking on the floor there is a sound. The bed is too old and need to be change. Breakfast has less choices and its not a buffet.

Not the best!

Good location for an overnight stop on a long journey. Staff at breakfast friendly, helpful and efficient

Paper thin walls, you hear far too much from the next room. Also a wedding venue so the disco below our room till midnight and then guests leaving. So no real chance of sleep till early hours of morning. Fine if partying but not for a break on a long journey. No bedside light, whole room or darkness. So not a good stay for us, breakfast redeemed it!

A frustrating 1 night stay

Close to M25, 24Hr service desk, clean and comfortable bed and shower

No Lifts (unless I'm mistaken), so if you have heavy baggage and on upper floors you're stuffed. No heating, my first room was freezing, complained and was told turning up the thermostat on the radiator should rectify that, no difference. I was then told it would be checked. Returned later that evening to find the room even colder than I'd left it. Complained again, told that no other rooms were available as a result of a wedding party until I asked to speak to the manager. Another room was found a bit warmer than the first (although the heating didn't seem to be working there either). Seems my situation wasn't an isolated case, overheard another couple with a baby complaining bitterly amongst themselves about how cold their room was. Mentioned I had the same issue and that I had complained and got moved to a different room. Tea and coffee machines broken at breakfast.
