WHY WE LOVE THIS PROPERTY SO MUCH...My personal fav thing about this property other than the great spa bath & cosy gas log heater is laying in the big king bed in the morning with a cup of tea looking out into the treetops and watching the cockatoos fly up the valley & the sunrise over Mt William range magic! Louise
Ross' favourite thing is riding up Mt William at 6am and watching the sunrise over the horizon from the top of the mountain.
Our girls love the space & fresh air, the birds, the wildlife and more recently building really cool cubby houses out of sticks & check out the pics!

Yes, we really enjoyed our wonderful quite stay at The Escarpment. Perfect position, plenty of wildlife and walking distance to Halls Gap village. The accommodation was great, it had everything we needed. (I also liked wooden floor!!!). We have already recommended The Escarpment to our friends. Thank you, Ekaterina
"With UK visitors we stayed at THE ESCARPMENT for two nights. A mistake. It should have been two weeks!
THE ESCARPMENT is in a handy position in Halls Gap and is beautifully furnished with everything you could desire on a holiday. We have stayed in Halls Gap a number of times over the years (usually with overseas friends or relations) and have had "satisfactory" accommodation. However, in future,THE ESCARPMENT will be the only accommodation we will consider. We will return!

"We stayed at The Escarpment during the weekend of the Hall's Gap Jazz Festival where our band was playing. It's a beautiful house with beautiful surroundings. It is so serene sitting on the deck out the back eating breakfast or lunch and watching kangaroos hop past. We'll definitely be back (in fact, this is our second year staying at The Escarpment!)."
Cheers, Sam

Well maintained and comfortable indoor and outdoor areas.
Also liked that it was set back from main road so don't get much car noise.
Nice place, would recommend.

Great group stay!
We booked for the Grampians Grape Escape but decided to keep our accommodation and make a weekend of it when the event got cancelled. The house is appointed extremely well with plenty of crockery, a Weber bbq, and a great kitchen. The beds were super comfortable and warm. Overall it was very comfortable for a three night stay for 6 adults. It’s lovely sitting out on the front deck in the morning and by the fire pit of an evening. Would definitely stay again.

Well equipped house in a peaceful location
The house is very comfortable and tastefully decorated and the kitchen is well equipped.
All the bedrooms look out onto trees and the front veranda is a peaceful spot for a coffee or wine after a days walking. Pretty much as advertised.

Lovely spot amongst the trees
Lovely spot with nice tree views and wildlife. Really well stocked home, very comfortable beds and everything else we could have thought of or needed (bar a corkscrew 🤣) and nice and warm in winter!

Okay but nothing special
The house was easy to find and access was via a key lock. Inside all was fine : all was neat, fully equipped kichen, goods beds and a nice bathroom. But the terras in the backyard needs some refreshment : the table was broken and the chairs weren't comfortable at all.

Very clean & comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches perfect for a family, short drive into town
Welcoming house (up a front staircase though, so make sure this is not a problem for you). Everything was extra clean. Heating is fantastic, especially the gas' log fire'. Beds very comfortable and plenty of pillows and blankets. Towels provided but were on the thin small side and there were no spares. Lots of books, good variety of magazines and some games for the younger kids. Kitchen well equipped and tea/coffee/small milk provided, as well as a few other basics. I would definitely stay here again knowing how well presented and comfortable it is. The only issue I had was a couple of days prior to arrival I was told the house may not be ready at 2.00pm, as it was a 'busy time of year'. I felt this was not good as our booking had been made weeks prior and my family had to change our arrival plans as a result. Also, if staying in summer, the front screen door cannot be locked, so you couldn't leave it open to let in air if you have small kids who may wander. Not a problem in winter of course!

Great stay!
This is one of the more modern places I have stayed in Halls gap with all of the creature comforts of home. Wifi was a big plus, kitchen was fully equipped, furniture was well kept and comfortable, and the beds were super comfortable. The TV doesn’t get a lot of reception but that is most likely due to the location so bring DVDs.

Would stay here again.
Our family of 6 had a lovely stay. Cosy and warm on our arrival, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and very well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed cups of tea on the veranda and night walks along the path at the end of the road. Louise makes herself available to contact if required.

beautiful property in lovely surroundings
The house had everything we needed for our stay. Wildlife was literally outside the front door. It was a beautiful little town to take walks and enjoy the scenery. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a good meal, apart from the skills which you must bring yourself. Nice bedrooms with comfortable beds and great views from all the windows. Birds on your balcony in the morning with a beautiful egg chair to enjoy the ambience.

Loved our stay - highly recommended
We stayed at this great accommodation for 7 nights from 18 Sept 2017. Louise was really easy to deal with right from the beginning when we booked our stay and she provided a comprehensive email with instructions and hints prior to our arrival. When we arrived it was a cold and rainy day so imagine our surprise when we entered the property and the heating had been turned on - how wonderful and welcoming!! The property is really well appointed with everything you need. We did quite a bit of travelling around during the day so ate in on quite a few nights enjoying the cosy gas fire with some local Grampian wines! We really liked the fact that you could wander from the back yard into the scrubland and look at the birdlife and kangaroos, and it's a nice walk into town. We'd definitely consider staying here again if we return to this area. Thanks again Louise.

Perfect Location
Happy with the location and the layout of the house. The process from booking the holiday house to the front door of 'The Escarpment' was a very easy process.
The house had everything we needed; we were pleasantly surprised!
Beds were very comfortable and both the front rooms (with the large windows) were in the perfect position to see a couple of spectacular sunrises through the week!
The house and the amenities throughout the house were spotlessly clean.
We will most certainly book this house next time we come to Halls Gap!!
Thank you Louise

Amazing!
We absolutely loved our stay at The Escarpment Halls Gap! It was so homely and was the ideal size for three couples for our stay. We enjoyed playing board games, hiking the surrounding mountains and feasting in the nearby town. I'm a fussy traveller and I highly recommend this stay.

The house was nice. Very homely. The big dissappointment for us was arriving to find the place a big mess, beds all slept in and unmade, dirty towel all lying in the bathroom. We had to then organise the cleaner ourselves with a big inconvience to us. Worse then that we were offered no refund for this. Very dissappointing.

Beautiful stay in the middle of a very cold winter
Very cold winter's weekend, but we loved the gas fire and the warm beds. Huge king size bed in the main room was excellent, as was the quality of the doonas. Kitchen was well equipped too. Kids loved the Wii. We used the fire pit despite the wet - you need to bring your own wood. The BBQ was not undercover, meaning it was a bit sodden to use it in winter. Louise was very helpful and even organised to send us clothes I'd accidentally dumped in the bin when leaving!

Fabulous property
We regularly visit this area and this property provided everything we needed for our stay of 7 days.
We were warm and comfortable the entire stay
The house was very well equipped and the little extras such as games and magazines were a great addition.
We enjoyed the BBQ and fire pit area each evening.
The host was most helpful and we plan to stay at this property again.

good property
we had a good time :) in winter the barbecue should be closer for eg on the deck as it was at the back with know lights so we had to cook inside :(

Nice bushland setting
Nice bushland views from all the windows and kangaroos in the front garden. A nice retreat to spend a few days and in a very good location.
