high quality inn that had been upgraded sympathetically and offered comfortable
rooms and excellent food.
our tv wasn’t working but Grace helped us and contacted manager which resulted in a discount on our room for inconvenience of not being able to catch up on Wimbledon !! only other complaint would be shower over bath not very good.

Good breakfast with plenty of choice. Only serve continental breakfast on certain days though. We felt very welcome and the staff were polite and friendly.

Nothing to fault.

Beautifully appointed pub and room. Great atmosphere in the pub and good food. Breakfast was lovely!
No real complaints, our room was a little hot but we used the fan provided. The only minor thing would be slightly better pillows.

We stayed for two nights to celebrate a special birthday, the cheerful team made us very welcome. The food was excellent ,there was a good selection of wine, and the draft beer was well kept. The room was well appointed, the bed supportive and comfortable, and the bed linen soft .This is a very well managed and comfortable Inn and I would highly recommend it.
The charming room we stayed in was up two flights of stairs, so not suitable for the less mobile.
The breakfast was advertised as continental, however thankfully that was incorrect and we enjoyed delicious cooked breakfast as well as fresh pastries. As a suggestion perhaps the addition of some fruit juice to accompany the fresh coffee and tea .

Very lovely place, nice room and en-suite. Restaurant was very good as was the food. Staff are very friendly happy.

beautiful & peaceful stay
everything was faultless, possibly a little more attention at dinner service from the waiter

staff are gentle
the ceiling of the room is low. that's frustrating.

A pleasant well equipped and beautifully appointed room, with many extras. It was warm and cosy when we arrived, with lights On and pleasant music on the radio when we arrived; comfortable and beautiful lighting, complementary drinks in the fridge; large bed, good heating which could be increased or reduced to one’s liking; quality toiletries and soft white towels.
First and foremost: the staff! There was no welcome whatsoever! Quite the opposite.
- The way we were met (very neutral/ barely acknowledging) by a young man who knew very little of what should we expect in terms of the service they provide;
- Other members of staff simply ignored our presence, which felt borderline hostile: no smile, no eye contact, no simple “Hello” they would spare for us.
If we had a choice we’d rather leave.
Second: the breakfast. Very very poor! Continental, non-existent to be fair, which included -LITERALLY - four small items of pastry, cold and disfigured; three spoons (each) of very sweet cereals in tumblers accompanied by one cream-size jug with milk; two little bottles of Actimel; two bananas (the best bit) and tea.
Nothing like juice, yogurt, fruits, bread, butter, jam, cold meats, cheeses, salmon - none of that!
It’s shame as we could see and appreciate the attention given to the room in terms of decor and complimentary items, but the staff’s attitude - an absolute contrary to the room’s comfort - completely killed our mood.

The manageress was friendly and welcoming, she had to deal with a very difficult group of diners complaining about the food which was faultless, they made a show and were doing it to get a discount, obnoxious people which could have spoiled our own experience but she dealt with them calmly and deffused the situation. They are people who will give a bad review I am sure but the whole experience was a delight, The room was comfortble and clean and the bath amazing. This must be an ideal place to stay.

it was quaint, homely and very cosy. The room was beautifully appointed, clean and warm. super-comfy bed and good quality complementary drinks and nibbles were a lovely touch, including fresh milk! Food at dinner and breakfast was superb and all dietary requirements were catered for. The staff were very friendly and efficient and manager Kes was fantastic. We’ll certainly return! Thanks to all.

400 year old pub with lots of character close to many historical Cotswold towns and villages.
Very friendly, efficient staff.
Bedroom (with private bathroom) was lovely, comfy bed and pillows. Good quality linen. Everything has been thought of to make your stay more comfortable with great little touches.. Good quality tea and coffee.
Even a radio in the room!
Breakfast choice is extensive and very good.
Good pub food as well.
Really great pub with lovely bedrooms. Would definitely recommend.

I instantly fell in love with the horse and groom. Felt at ease straight away. On arrival, everyone was incredibly friendly. The only thing I was sad about was I only booked a single night.
I highly recommend this location and I cannot wait to stay again.

it look charming from the outside & was better on the inside. A lovely welcoming roaring fire, super friendly staff, what a pub full of charm & character. The locals were super friendly, the food was excellent. our room was a real treat, there was nothing we were short of, a lovely break - thank you 😊

A great little bed and breakfast pub, with good staff and nice food.

Amazing little pub with great atmosphere. Quirky rooms and a wonderful countryside backdrop to take a walk in or simply admire from the window. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They extended our checkout so we can have one last walk in the countryside and offered us a phone charger on multiple occasions (we forgot ours at home). And food... oh, that burger, I still see it in my dreams. And the Sunday roast was wonderful, too.
The only thing that comes to mind is that the kitchen / pub closed at 4pm when we were there. But that might be because we came for New years. And it's not a cheap place to eat - but that's not be expected, given the quality

Lovely building, excellent food. Great staff.
No hot water !!! Bar expensive.
Service charge on meal bills not pointed out.

Good food and service
Lounge and dining areas too cold and heating inadequate.

Hidden gem a little hard to find in the countryside when roads around are closed, otherwise very well situated for a stop between the Cotswalds and Bath. Staff was super friendly and nice. Very good restaurant. Delicious breakfast. Big room.
Matress to soft for our taste. The contradictory info between the in-room hotel book and the minibar menu list concerning free vs. prices items. The bathtub drainage should be checked, as well as the ventilation around the central fireplace dowstairs.

location
uncomfortable bed, large bathroom but really small shower, limited breakfast menu

very comfy, really nice staff, good location, lots of room .
they don’t do food on a Monday/Tues. I could hear everything going on in the bar below and there was a leak dripping from the bathroom ceiling.

Very friendly welcome and staff were always willing to help.
Our room was large, very clean, comfortable and very well appointed.
The restaurant offered a good choice on the menu and very good quality.
Shower arrangement within bath did not work well. The curtain restricted room to move and there was nowhere to place showerhead to stand underneath.

Small issue with shower reported to owner, general decoration starting to look a little tired in some areas.

The breakfast was excellent, plenty of it and was good that you used good quality and home made.
Nothing could have been better, everything was excellent.

The pub is well appointed with many interesting features. The staff were welcoming and efficient. Dinner in the evening and breakfast were excellent. The bedroom was beautifully decorated with a nice bathroom and roll top bath.
You need to be aware that there is no shower. There is a shower attachment to the bath but no curtain therefore impractical to stand up. However the bath itself was excellent.

beautiful character pub with en suite bedrooms. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed!
There was nothing not to like.
