I do not eat breakfast. That aside, I've stayed here lots of times. A 30 second walk from the TOP restaurant in the entire Douro region. Location A+. Friendly and helpful staff! The brand new wall paneling and excellent new mattresses, great! Could use more electric outlets, but that and having directions for the a/c remote control printed/laminated in the rooms would be very helpful. Value for money, can't be beat. Love this place and I recommend it early and often!
I can't think of anything. Put a small pool in the front and you have a worthy 4 star property and could charge even more!

The breakfast is good with many variety. The room is quiet and facing the Douro River and a good restaurant is just opposite to it.

It's a no thrills hotel, all that should be there is there and works. Breakfast is good as is the morning view.
Nothing really. Perhaps having to drag the suitcase up to the first floor

Very friendly staff, good size room with nice view over the river. Breakfast was really good. Although the bar was closed, reception got us some drinks to relax with. Very helpful.
Location is a bit isolated with two of the three walkable restaurant/bars closed on the Tuesday we were there. The hotel's bar and restaurant were also closed.

The location was excellent with views of the Douro and a nice Restaurant opposite was convenient. The staff were very accommodating and the breakfast was excellent.
It was a bit noisy not much soundproofing between rooms. There is no restaurant at the hotel so you have to eat out and there is only a basic snack bar close by and a Michelin Rates restaurant opposite which is expensive. Taxis are called from Regua and it cost us 40 euros as it was already showing 17.95 on the metre so make sure they call from Pinhao as they dont charge from there to collect you.

The location on the Douro River is excellent. Our room was comfortable with a nice river view. Great staff and good breakfast. D
I understand that the hotel has plans to bring the entrance down to the front of the building which would be a very good idea. Also I’m not in armored with the coffee machines which I understand were a product of Covid. Please get rid of them!

The location, the view. The breakfast was also great, in general great value for money!
The bed wasn’t comfortable, and made weird noise.

The hotel is well located on the N222 road and right alongside the River Douro. Folgosa appears to be a small town. It has roadside parking right outside - I suggest you reverse park to make it easier/safer when leaving - The staff I met were very helpful and friendly and spoke English well enough to make things easy and to remind me to learn a little more Portuguese!! On check-in I was presented with a helpful printed sheet with local information. Room 284 has a view right onto the river and is a decent sized double room. The rooms on the first floor below appeared to have a balcony area so worth checking out/specifying what you want if that's important to you. There was a bottle of Port supplied with 2 glasses which was a vey nice, and unexpected, touch. This was not the most spacious room on my trip however was more than sufficient and the bath (made for sharing!?) was enormous! The rooms were very clean, modern and well equipped. I definitely had the best night's sleep here - which was not induced by the Port or excellent products of the many local wineries (Quintas). There was no restaurant in the Hotel for dinner however they do have a simple snack and bar/drinks menu and a comfortable area to use with TV, tables and comfy seats. There is a lift from reception to the upper floors. Locally, there is a riverside restaurant (The DOC - from what I saw the only one in the town) just opposite the hotel - unfortunately this was closed on a Tuesday (the night of my stay).
Breakfast was continental style and superbly laid out on each table rather than a communal buffet (mine was overlooking the river)with a plentiful supply of orange juice, breads, pastries, croissants, fresh fruits, meats, cheese and condiments. So the only "self service" element was for the hot drinks machine. A brilliant way of doing it!!
A note of caution - The Hotel entrance is located up a steep slope from the roadside on the left of the building which leads to the reception area. There was no obvious alterative available without steps.

We stayed year on the first of January, so the price was a big high, but it was a lovely peaceful night, in a very comfortable room!
The break was great!
Great scrambled eggs, and fresh pastries ☺️ including pastel de Nata!
They also had smoked ham and a variety of fresh fruit.
They didn’t have toasts, but they had fresh baked bread which I prefer!
I would certainly return again!
The staff was super friendly also!
The price was a bit high

comfy beds, plenty of hot water in the shower, location, easy parking, very attentive personal
Coffee and coffee machine is a disaster. tried to make tea, hot water is not even cooked, milk from the same machine- water with some milky powder.breads and pastry were ok. We did not go for breakfast second morning.

New building with big room and bed and nice bathroom. Great pillows. Nice balcony with river view. Complementary little bottle of port was appreciated. Nice receptionists and great continental breakfast.
The hotel is situated opposite a Michelin restaurant (DOC). That of course is very nice but if you do not go there there is very little to do as there are no bars and only one small restaurant (hotel restaurant was closed due to COVID and because there was a bicycle race we did not go to the next town 12 km away as it was too busy there)

Location is brilliant and staff were very nice and helpful.
If the restaurant nearby is open limited parking space.

The location is phenomenal! Just on the river front. It has the most amazing and idilic view. The Staff are extremely nice and helpful. Everything is very clean and done to a high standard, which was a very nice surprise. The breakfast was really good with lots of things to choose from. Overall it was a great stay and great value for money.
The only thing I can comment on is the access to the reception/entry to the hotel that is made through a bit of a steep ramp. However the hotel location, view and comfort truly makes you forget about that as soon as you see what you get.
