Staff were very good, and decoration & furnishings tasteful and comfortable.
No room service.
8.0
Location was great, and public areas well decorated, plenty of them, and very comfortable
Could have served food later into the evening rather than finishing at 5.30, plus 'background ' music was really intrusive and loud when trying to relax and read with a coffee

Dinner was, as always, very good and a highlight of the stay. Good choice and the menu changed every night. Breakfast also good. The bar and lounge area were pleasant and relaxing.
We can't think of anything.

The location was fantastic
Room was a little tired (some of the wall paper was peeling off) and the carpet was a tripping hazard as it had rumpled in the middle of the floor

Very clean and well looked after
Close to town centre

Comfortable stay, food was amazing, location fantastic.
One member of staff spoilt our stay im afraid she served our table and she was very miserable we tried to talk have a laugh my husband tried laugh and joke with her but she said very rudely "I don't have time for this" and removed our cutlery that wasnt needed with utter disgust slammed our plates down without a smile. She needs reminding when in hospitality need to make the guest feel welcome. Think she was called Beeta or something like that, not nice person.

The staff were really nice, my mum was ill during the stay and they were very kind.
I overheard the staff laughing at something I said - not in a good way, and I didn't think it very professional.
The underneath of the sink (visible when you are lying in the bath) was smeared with sick!!!!

The location was good, easy walking to stores and pubs.
The hotel was ok but I would not recommend it to others. In one of our rooms, right next to the bed, was a very large patch of mold. It was about 3 feet by 4 feet, so it was not small. When I told the staff they didn't seem to care.
The beds were very soft and not comfortable at all. The furniture in the room was very dated.
The breakfast was just ok.
We were going to have dinner one night at the hotel. However, the hostess pointed out that dinner was a set meal and was £45 pounds a person....not a well received comment...so we had dinner elsewhere.

The staff were super accommodating with disability and gave us a ground floor room. This is our second time staying here and each time we have adored the quiet in each room. The staff are super kind and our favourite part of our stay is the wild rabbits who reside in the garden munching on grass

Hotel was fine, room was fine.
Tried repeatedly to contact the propterty, automated replies and being left on hold on a premium number. Needed to talk to someone urgently, couldn't.

The location was a little bit out of town

Breakfast and dinner were superb, plenty of choice and well cooked.

Beautiful location. We booked last minute and received a great deal which included both breakfast and dinner.
I have one very small consideration; the fire alarm was above the bed which wouldn't normally bother me. However the alarm has a small light that flashed every 1mintue. This flash did disturb my sleep at points.

The food was good, with varied enough choice to suit all tastes. Restaurant staff were really good. Food was also good value for money. Overall all staff extremely polite /helpful.
My only complaint is the use of extremely cheap toilet paper. Was so thin almost transparent not what one would expect from a deluxe room?

Room 113 was very noisy above kitchen and woken up at 6 am by delivery wagons and this noise went on for at least half an hour

I took my partner for a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast break as a birthday surprise. The food was delicious, the room was tastefully decorated and spacious enough.
All the staff were very friendly, courteous and couldn't be more helpful. We will definitely be returning!

traditional hotel with big rooms. The public rooms we’re comfortable and beautifully decorated (Christmas)
Small thing but shower head stuck on concentrated mode!

The location was excellent - less than a ten minute walk into the town centre and with plenty of free parking on site. The hotel itself is steeped in history and is a really grand old building with lots of original features. The public spaces for guests (lounges etc) are beautifully decorated in keeping with a country house hotel. The hotel is also set in acres of scenic woodland.
Due to the age of the building, the floors were very uneven and the decor in the corridors needs updating.
