Frukost ok. Medeltida byggt, spännande och mysigt. Var dock byggt 1933. Fin omgivning med sikt till Visingsö från rummet. Bar med god service och god mat. Nära till Gränna. Rekommenderas.
En del personal hade problem med svenskan. Madrass gled lätt av sängen. Annars inget att klaga på.

The spectacular views and historic building with comfy beds compensate for the the rest of the experience. This was a reunion for me - as I used to stay in the tower room with my family when I was a kid.
It's over-prized with low quality food (restaurant and breakfast). The room lacked basic amenities like lightbulbs and a working fridge.

The breakfast was more than adequate, very satisfied with it indeed, I had no complains to make. And of course the view from the restaurant was exceptional. Simply very good indeed
We are always looking forward to having an evening meal at the restaurant. This year I was very disappointed with the service. Staff behaved in a very unprofessional way, very amateurish. After taking our order, and given our food, nobody even once , came to ask how is the food? is everything alright? or glancing at the tables in case we wanted something else, completely ignored the tables. even when I eventually managed to order another glass of wine, the waiter never took the empty glass away, even when I asked for the bill, the empty bread basket was still on the table. I found the staff very UNPROFESSIONAL
Did not match the hotel s standard at all. Another detail, the young waiter was putting items on the table for customers like drinks or milk jug staff like that, holding them from very close to the lip! Very unprofessional and very unhygienic.
Front of house staff, excellent!

The manor house was historical and very well maintained, the same cannot say of guest rooms which need renovation and upgrade level to meet same luxory.

Super dinner! Room acceptable, staff good
Took ages to be seated for dinner but was worth the wait.

Beautiful setting with amazing views of lake Vattern. Large, dog friendly rooms with lovely dog beds
Staff very friendly
Unlike all the other hotels we have stayed at in Sweden , this one doesn’t allow dogs to sit with you in the restaurant or the bar. We were given à private dining room to eat and drink in.

We loved the old style of the main building and our room was comfortable. We had a great view of the lake and a really good hike route into town. The breakfast was very good and our dinner exceptional.
A small fridge in the room would have been helpful as we were traveling and had purchased food for sandwiches that we had to throw away. We loved our room, but the million dollar lake view was marred by a window that was hard to see out of and in need of a wipe down.

This was an amazing location. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding area and was lovely and quiet. So nice to hear the birds chirping. Breakfast was lovely too with many options. Easy free parking

Fabulous views from our bedroom, restaurant and bar. Friendly staff.
Need more staff. There were around 50 guests for dinner and only two waiting staff, 1 chef and one sous chef in the kitchen. This led to waiting times of over an hour to get orders served. The staff did their best so no complaints there but they were fighting a losing battle. Management take note!

Breakfast is standard as a most hotels in Sweden. Nothing specially impressed, but nothing is bad either.
There are in total 4 pictures when we booked this hotel via Booking.se: One picture is the main building (the old stone house) and the rest three are room. Not a single picture actually shows there are more other houses beside the main stone house.
Our room was in the side house, looks like a student dormitory, which is totally not expected. We expected we would live in the main stone house that was one of the attraction point to book this hotel. When we got the arrangement, the feeling was being fooled.
We are 2 adults and 2 kids (5 & 11). The room has a big bed and a sofa double bed; after that, not much space left. A quite boring room. We paid 2190 kr/night include breakfast, a bit over-charged.

Castle like structure and location.
Poor facilities.Room size too small.

Via booking.com, we had a room in another (not so nice) building, wich wasn't what we expected. The hotelpersonell did their very best to change it to a room in the castle and we were pleased to hear that was possible! The view from te terrace and the rooms is extraordinary. The room was great. The food was excellent as well. You can see and do a lot of things nearby.
Staying in the sidebuildings is not what we wanted, make sure you know where your room is placed when you book it.

The view is great. We also had a very nice breakfast and dinner. The rooms are big, very nice, clean, and comfortable.
There is no lift.

The view, but that's about it
The pricing, the negligent staff, the untidy restaurant (marks of hands on all windows, food spatter on the one we had for dinner. food in toddle chair at dinner, food still in toddler chair in the morning, sagging curtains that needed attention) nothing changed between dinner and breakfast, it was all there in plain sight the day after. The the room didn't even have a full view mirror (the mounting screws where still visible though). It's far to over priced, would it be 9000-1000 sek it would be.. ok. but that's it.
