Great location and nice rooms
The room was quite small but was good for a couple of nights.

Very welcoming staff and happy to oblige when assistance needed. Room was lovely with great view of sea, could do with a few more pictures on the walls. Bed and bedding clean and comfortable The shelf on toilet sink needs moving as far too close to tap making the tap access and use challenging.
Food was delivered quickly fairly mediocre.
Would suggest perhaps a mat at room entrance for shoe removal to save the carpet.
No parking at location however there is a good size car park central to the town which isn't too bad unless you may have lots of luggage!
We enjoyed our stay here and would reccommend

The location is amazing looking right over the harbour close to where boat trips go out into Cardigan Bay to try and see dolphins, which we did. There’s other bars, restaurants and shops very near. If I went again I’d try and get room 7 as it’s at the front and shares that amazing view.
There’s no parking - there is a car park near by but I understand all the car parks are very busy in summer months. Access to the rooms are all up steps so not accessible to everyone and the whole town slopes steeply to the sea.

Good, clean, 3* room, 5* view. Everything worked and no complaints possible. Downstairs a bar with proper beer. Parking is a three-minute walk away in public car park, no problems, £4.40 for 24 hours.
Do not follow satnav directions to the pub, but stay on the main road and go to the car park on the left by the seafront. I speak from experience of being sent down uncomfortably narrow passages.... perhaps the Penwig could warn visitors! I guess parking would be a bigger problem in summer.

The Penwig has always been an integral feature of Newquay -it’s nice to see that it has been spruced up and is now a lovely place to stay as well -the refurbished rooms are lovely

The room we had was fabulous , seaview, lovely and clean and spacious .
Plenty of room and in a great location .
We had a meal in the evening in the pub , I will say the food was not good! Presentation was awful, my food was lukewarm and items missing from what was advertised. We were going to have breakfast the next morning but decided to go elsewhere as it was so bad .
5.0 / 10.0
small but cosy room
Lack of warmth and hospitality shown,
Food menu and breakfast disappointing , all frozen goods'
Lack of detail in presentation or explaining how breakfast worked, staff all seemed worn out or bored

Location was good. If you like sea views.
The food could have been better.

The location is fab. The staff were helpful but very noisy when arriving and smoking out by the room early morning. Fortunately we had a cheap one night's stay but I wouldn't of been able to stay more than 1 night.
The room had been painted and was still smelly and sticky. The bath plug didn't hold water and the double bed was very hard. And noisy staff early morning smoking.
