thoroughly enjoyed the stay and would return, however we are going to stay at other group hotels

The Hotel was well appointed in common areas - plenty of comfortable seating, tables. The room far exceeded expectations the bathroom was well stocked, Hot drink tray great, safe, iron & board very very pleased.

It’s an historic building with all the charm and sense of history that comes with that.

It’s tired. I appreciate that it must be difficult to make ends meet, but there was a sense of cost cutting - gadgets and furniture needing updating, small portions in the restaurant (half a slice of black pudding, and they ran out of beans for the breakfast serving). The location is as good as it gets in Stafford, but in modern Stafford the Swan is no longer in the beating heart of a thriving market town - not the hotel’s fault, but it changes the ambiance for the worse.

Wonderful

Wonderful hotel, lovely decor thought-out and very comfy. The staff were very helpful and pleasant . Food excellent. Would definitely recommend...and look forward to returning !

Good

We were travelling up to Scotland from Devon and wanted to overnight somewhere convenient and dog friendly. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Difficult to find the car park on the satnav. My wife’s pork belly was very overcooked. My beef was better. A bit out of your control, but it sounded like there were drunk homeless people that were making a lot of noise very close to the hotel late at night.

This is the hotel to book in the area of Stafford, for the value you get top quality service, quality rooms and they were incredible in bending backward to give an earlier checkin. Couldnt ask for more and the staff are wonderful as is the breakfast!

Nice but the breakfast service needs to improve

Clean, nicely decorated, a decent bar

The breakfast service was poor. No explanation on what was available when we were seated (juices etc were in a different room which wasn’t explained). Ordered a cooked breakfast which took a long time to come and was cold on arrival.

Nice building but rooms could do with updating. Lovely staff, nice breakfast and no traffic noise 😎.

One puzzling thing is the seating layout in the old carriageway??? Most positions offer seating for 3? How many groups of three do you know go out together? Our party of four could not easily find somewhere to sit!!!!

wrong post code for the car park!!!!! drivin aimlessly around for 20 minutes. bloody infuriating! no eggs at the breakfast??? I payed £150 for one night and don’t feel that this is acceptable…..

Amazing... loved it ...

The best full English breakfast we have ever had. Could not fault the hotel at all. We are local and stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Weston Hall. Would definitely recommend the Swan. I had been for coffee before but this was the first time we stayed and will be recommending to any family who have to travel. A little gem.

Absolutely nothing to do with the hotel but if you are stopping and travelling to Weston Hall advisable to prebook your taxi as taxis are difficult to get quickly.

Excellent hotel Room clean and comfortable with nice snacks and coffee machine. Evening meal good with exceptional service (thanks to Barbara!). Even parking was easy in this central location. Will definitely stay here again.

Staff nice and welcoming (once the barmaid had checked my room number at least) (guess people have sneaked in in order to get a late bar previously 🤔)... room surprisingly quiet saying it was overlooking the main high street! Continental breakfast was good!

Would have liked an English breakfast included in the price but it is rarely a thing now.
