Lovely comfy room
Pool too small and overcrowded.

Not very much.
The first room we were in was absolutely roasting, the heater could not be turned down it was stuck at highest level of heat.
The spa bath was not working either.
And right outside our room were fans that were really loud.
We got moved to a different room, less noisy and the spa bath was working but when the rain started water started sipping through a fan on the ceiling.
Overall highly disappointed.

I requested a particular room layout and was given this, which made using my medical equipment easy to use. I visited during a cold snap, and asked for an extra blanket - I was given an extra wonderful fluffy duvet :)

Hotel called me on the day of my stay at 6pm advising they have maintenance issues. They had booked an alternative cheap hotel close by which didn't have any Spa or gym and wasn't of the same standard. Poor communication to call on the day and leave me with very few options to arrange accommodation for the night. Wouldn't book again.

Location
Dirty floor & soft furnishings & staff didn’t seem very happy to be there
4.0
Good facilities- comfortable with helpful staff
The jacuzzi was broken and has been for a long time according to a regular I met.

Breakfast was good .The rooms were clean and spacious
The hairdryer in the room didn’t work and the jacuzzi in the pool area
also wasn’t working

Breakfast was nice. Bed was really comfy.
The room was ridiculously too hot, literally had to sleep with the slide door open all night. When we got there and even after specifically asking in advance for an early check in, we were abruptly and rudely told there were no rooms available.
1.5
The location and breakfast.
The room.

Breakfast was only £10 to add. It’s a self serve continental style breakfast and you can have as many plates as you like. The food was nice. The staff were really nice and helpful. The only downside to this hotel is that it is about a 15 minute drive from Newcastle centre (approx £15-£18 in an Uber). Other than that it was a lovely stay.
The location is a bit far out from Newcastle Centre

Breakfast was excellent with a wide selection of options.
The room was clean and tastefully decorated
We really enjoyed our food on both evenings and the portion sizes were just right
A wider selection of food on the evening menu would have been welcome especially if our stay had been longer.
I would have preferred a wider selection of cocktails on the menu, bar staff said they could not make cocktails not shown on the menu as there was no buttons on the till for any different to those listed.

The lady on receptions and the woman at the spa were both very friendly. The area was nice and quiet good to go for a jog and I had everything I needed in the room.
The toilet didn’t flush properly I was in room 308. Could do with upgrading the hair dryers in the rooms. Need some takeaway cups at the breakfast buffet.

Love the extra large king-size bed and spa bath in the room.
The only thing was the balcony was full of dead leaves and spider webs table, and chairs were dirty.
3.0
The bed was comfortable
The property is so tired and run down. It’s in need of a major refurb.

the fridge in the room wasn’t working and the room was way too hot and I don’t think I would be staying here anymore to pricey for a standard room for the night.

The use of the pool and sauna, hot tub etc was a nice bonus to the trip.
The breakfast was superb and had everything you could want and was really tasty.
I.mentioned when booking we were visiting for a birthday celebration and the hotel went out of their way to make my daughters birthday trip special.
Nothing we didn't like. We were very impressed.

clean. little dated. no air con and it was warm so would not like to be there in the summer. tv in room is that old it has ceefax. Bar facilities and restaurant good.
no air con. see above. room very warm even with no radiators on.
greenkeeper mowing golf course at 5:30 and 6:00am was an unexpected and undesirable early morning wake up call.

This is our second stay at George Washington, my husband and I can't fault it.
We will definitely be back again, we had a brilliant time.
I can honestly say there is nothing we didn't like!!

Easy access and parking
Breakfast good variety cooked food always hot and tasty
Disappointed with premium priced room no comfortable chairs no bath very small shower bedside light inoperative not value for money
Worst of all hotel was booked for a wedding from just before midnight till 2 am we had children running up and down the corridors shouting and women yelling to each other people nocking on and slamming doors
Although staff tried there best at breakfast the breakfast room had food spilt on the floor and general upheaval caused by un supervised children we felt generally sorry for the staff

The onsite restaurant is very good. Carter & Fitch I think it's called. It does thin crust sourdough pizzas in a wood fired oven, really good burger and the steaks etc I saw coming out looked very good. Nice bar, good drinks.
It's very ambitiously priced, in my view, if you are not there for the spa or golf then there's better deals to be had elsewhere. Rooms: There's no safe. There's no air con. The breakfast is a bit lacklustre, but fairly typical of an average British place. There's a bean to cup coffee machine. There's some buffet hot food, some cereals and a woeful selection of fruit. No cold cuts. There is a make your own pancakes machine which is fun.

Going to Uncles funeral after a long drive from Essex, the staff allowed us to use the room early to get ready. Much appreciated.

Staff are all very polite and helpful nothing is a problem if they can help they will.
