The property was pretty at first glance - nice colour scheme and design inside guest room and in public areas.
The verandah outside the restaurant has so much dirty stains on the floor and even on the tables which was gross. The old wooden window frames in the room are peeling off and very broken and difficult to pull up. The breakfast quantity was mean and the plates one used for food were smaller than the cup saucers! Food was not refilled. Very upsetting. Hotel parking area was so small that we had to use public car park which was quite a steep long walk back.

Perfect location and very nice building with beautiful hall, old lift and very nice room with view on the harbor. Great walk in quiet garden. Nice town and walks on the coast just near the hotel.

The view was amazing, breakfast was superb and the room was lovely.
The carpet by the sofa in the bay window wa badly stained with tea/coffee spillage which was disappointing. The bath robes were made for a 10-year old and the room cleaning/replenishment was a little hit and miss.

The view is spectacular - the decor is also very good - modern colonial feel - staff were great - lovely atmoshpere
Service at breakfast was a bit haphazzard on some mornings - would have been nice to have a separate lounge from the bar
Irritating that whilst there was complimentary gin - if you were not a gin drinker you were not catered for

Staff were particularly helpful, attentive and cheerful! Food was amazing especially the evening meal menu selection. We enjoyed having coffee and drinks at the bar which has a balcony and wonderful views. The bedroom was clean and spacious with a fantastic view of the harbour with everything needed for a relaxing stay.
An iron in the room would have been helpful, otherwise everything was spot on!

The location was great! Both Hari and Peter were very helpful at breakfast. View was amazing, as were the beds-very comfortable.
The reception staff were very unfriendly and seemed very young and inexperienced-this really put us off. We had broken wooden slats in our room. The second bedroom was far too hot, even with a fan.
No spaces other than a small bar area to sit. Very very expensive menu and not worth the extortionate prices that they charged.
General upkeep of hotel and staff were not at all on top of the cleanliness, nor did they bother to ask us for any additional drinks. Again, mostly young and inexperienced staff. Shame. Something to be said about having a personality and being business savvy enough to come around, have a chat, or merely ask if we need another drink etc. Wasted opportunities!

Good food at reasonable prices and pleasant staff particularly at breakfast

The estuary view was great, even with the partial estuary room we had booked. Unsure how an inland view would compare at this hotel. The breakfast was good & many people varied there requests.
As many have mentioned the parking, just like Fowey as a whole was the only point of question. Onsite parking can be tight & we noticed a few 'longer' size cars that could make parking an issue. We parked at the Main public car park but the path was hilly. Would suggest offering if you dont have an allocated space to drive in & park to unload only & when parking as people cant book in until 3pm anyway. Also the Hotel could suggest that those staying for a week could use the weekly fee of £25 for 7 days in the Long Stay public car park using card to avoid returning everyday..

Beautiful decor in the hotel, enhanced by a working vintage lift. Breakfast was exceptional. I had something different each day, and the quality was top notch. We can say as a couple, the breakfast was the best we have had in a hotel, to date. Staff friendly, especially the efficient breakfast team. Beautiful views, enhanced by use of the gardens, and ease of walking into Fowey town centre We felt the staff cared about giving a good service, and also that we were in safe hands.
We were happy with everything, apart from having to leave, once getting used to our surroundings

Location was perfect, food was excellent too!! Staff were lovely too!!
There were slow serving breakfast a couple of mornings and the outside of the hotel needs some work doing -some of the window sills had hardly any paint on and overall paintwork quite shabby… for such a lovely hotel, it spoilt it!!

Very good
Nothing I wish we had a sea view room

Beautiful views from terrace. Yummy breakfast. Nice large room although we didn’t choose a sea view. Staff really helpful. Lovely and clean.
Our view wasn’t great but to be fair we didn’t pay the extra for a sea view.

The view and location was unbelievable!

the views were outstanding, nicely decorated, staff friendly, very smart, quaint old lift
parking. you have to make sure you pay for parking at the hotel, otherwise you’ll need to walk a little way and it’s very up and down hill

The hotel was amazing.
Everything was ok for my stay.

Room and bed were very generous and comfortable, bathroom had a shower and a tub, a rarity. The lounge / dining room was excellent with a great view.
Breakfast was all one could want and dinner was also very good.
Staff were all excellent
Noise from the parking area into rooms facing that side was unexpected but I guess that couldn't be helped. Next time we will probably book for the sea side.

Hotel location excellent and reception staff lovely.
Hotel was dated in that renovation has clearly been cosmetic without fixing any issues. I.e. Damp everywhere.
Sound insulation was appalling between rooms. We could hear conversations, snoring and dogs barking in adjacent rooms throughout the night which meant sleep quality was poor.
We are dog lovers but allowing them into the hotels dining rooms, and constant barking wasn't great when on holiday and looking for a relaxing, quiet stay.

Seaview room was fantastic, very comfortable. All the staff were helpful and very friendly, we stayed a week and have no qualms about recommending this hotel. All meals were freshly served and good choices.
Can’t say I can fault this hotel.

The location, the breakfasts, the dining room staff. The bathroom.
The bedroom was not as advertised. The bed was very uncomfortable. The bedroom carpet was stained. There was a lot of dust on the bedroom cupboard.

Food lovely!
Just a slight communication issue regarding parking, as a blue badge holder it would have been helpful to be advised to book parking in advance, but didn't spoil our stay!

We had a spacious comfortable room. The location was great. Able to park on site (for £10 a day). Free G&T. Lovely breakfast. Most staff were friendly and helpful.
The bedroom was very hot even though we didn’t have the heating on and the window open all the time. Blinds need replacing or curtains needed. Shower cubicle was very tiny. Under one bedside table there was a chip (yes chip!), broken glass and bottle cap.

The hotel is always clean and well managed. The food and drink is excellent and the view is sublime!
Not being able to bring the dog

Central location 5 min walk into Fowey for pubs / shopping and restaurants.
Early morning woken by very noisy delivery women who insisted on standing outside and having a very loud conversation with no consideration for guests whose windows are directly above the staff entrance / kitchen drop off. Staff member also leaving motorbike with loud exhaust running on staff changeover circa 06:30-07:00. Guests should be made aware this is a possible issue when booking or direct staff accordingly. Manager also parked his car in my paid for space which is not acceptable. Told by reception to park behind another car which was also not acceptable. Had to wait around for Management to move his car before heading back out into town.
