Breakfast was nice and plenty. The staff were pleasant.
We stayed in the room at the front of the hotel and the traffic noise kept us awake from 5am which completely ruined our stay. There were no other rooms available at the back of the hotel. Staff were apologetic but couldn’t do anything about it.

Breakfast was superb. The staff were very friendly and attentive as well.
The bedside cabinets were too basic, they were not finished to a decent standard at all and no closing drawers to put your underwear in. The curtain unfortunately was torn on the lining so we pointed this out. It was not caused by us. Reception did take note of this.
My meal was supposed to be an escalope of pork, it was far too thick, it would have been better to cut it thinner and tenderise it more and serve it as two pieces for future reference. My husband enjoyed his meal.
4.1
Comfortable bed, good shower
Very run down, lift no flooring, room furniture unfinished edges, unable to get meal due to a major booking and music went on till midnight, we would not have booked or cancelled if we had been made aware of this

Good breakfast. Pleasant location, but there wasn't much else around in Mildenhall in terms of visitor interest/attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff.
The quality of the evening meals could have been better. The menu choices could be better, and we found the evening meals to be rather heavy and stodgy and not that tasty.

Excellent once the eggs were cooked to our liking. Well done chef and you can have a quiche now! (Private joke).
We were disappointed that the river view rooms, as advertised didn't exist. Mews looked good from outside, but interior decor let it down, ie. The plyboard in the shower room and poorly painted, not what's expected of a 4*. The two toilets, though, were a bonus. More drawer storage would have been useful, ended up storing clothes on top of dresser.

Comfortable well equipped room. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast.

Location was ok with plenty of parking available. Staff were helpful and friendly particularly Roxie. The bed was very comfortable.
Sadly our room had a few maintenance issues - loose toilet seat, dirty windows, a broken curtain rail and mould in the shower. Breakfast was good but we waited far too long for our order to be served (over 40 minutes!). Definitely not good value for money paid.

Great location for visiting Bury St Edmunds, Ely and if you enjoy planes then it’s perfect. Lovely grounds to sit in next to the river though we went in March. Quirky and I like that.
Bathroom window needs some attention but nothing major.

Did not eat breakfast
Traffic trying to exit the property was a little dangerous in the morning as cars were coming quickly and you could not see them well.

Rooms were comfortable
The food was remarkably poor.

the service was friendly and quick . the breakfast was lovely except for the toast which was not toast but more like bread with a slight toasting but the coffee was cold on the second cup
the room was very cold even with the heater on which at first kept blowing cold air but the noise from the traffic then into the evening got worse and then we could hear everybody coming and going from the hotel up untill midnight then to top it off someones car alarm kept going off didn't get to sleep till past two o'clock and woke back up at six with the traffic again definetly in the wrong room.

Fantastic location for visiting RAF Lakenheath with our little boy. Breakfast was amazing, everything was cooked to perfection.
The room was so cold all night, the beds were uncomfortable and with the road noise unfortunately none of us had a good sleep.

lovely building. room large. only problem was the size of the bed. appreciate it would be expensive to change all the beds for bigger ones.
had to keep asking for heating to be turned on, but there was a small heater to plug in as well.
as requested, we left towels on rail to use again but they were still changed!! we find this happens a lot in hotels, even when there is a note on the wall asking to save on washing, which we totally agree with.

Birthday treat for husbands birthday in January.. Checky upgrade to a suite, room spacious and clean. Tasty evening meal and full English Breakfast in morning. Staff exceptional, friendly and helpful.

location in the town
some creaky floorboards but to be expected in an older character property.

We stayed 5 nights over Christmas. We really liked the family room which was really one room with a double bed and a connected room with two single beds. The breakfast was excellent and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us.
On the very last day there was apparently a complete change of staff who were rather brusque and unhelpful - even to the point of charging extra for a breakfast hot chocolate for one of the kids (we were fully paid up for breakfast). They have a bit of work to do there on customer relations.

Very friendly staff, reasonable amount of parking space, food is always good quality whether breakfast, lunch or full evening meal.
Some idiot had damaged the main drapes in our room, this is not the first time we have experienced this problem at Riverside House. This ment that we had light breaking through, fortunately there are wooden shutters which alleviated the problem. It is such a shame as the drapes are very heavy, great quality and set the period room off well.

Great location.
Spotless.
Stylish.
Spacious bathroom
Friendly,helpful staff...always chatty and smiling.
Lovely bar and breakfast room.
Beautiful garden
SUPERB breakfast choice ... they even pulled 2 tables together so 8 of us could eat in one group.
These are not bad things.....just points that resulted on me giving a 9 instead of a 10.
Toilet didnt flush very well...it was reported.
Furniture edging around bedside tables ,headboard etc had all been removed...it wasn't an issue but it just spoiled the look of the room...which was great.
Toast wasn't offered until after breakfast itself had been put on the table. Again, not a major issue but easily rectified.
Room was a bit dark as the heavy curtains could not be held apart to let more natural light through

The front of house staff worked their socks off and tried to make up for the deficiencies.
The cooked breakfast had elements that were tough. Dinner had a lot of items that were off menu but the waitress spent a lot of time suggesting alternatives and it was all cooked well. The following nights meal was a disaster and can only guess that it was a different chef.I

Beautiful setting. Good location. Friendly staff
Front door slam, although didn't realize until leaving that the door bar had not long broke. Due to the weight of the door it slammed shut.

Beautiful location on the River Lark. All staff terriffic. Especially Lyndsey at the front desk. We came in jet lagged and travel weary. She said,"put your luggage away and come back down. I'm setting up a cream tea for you in the study."

excellent breakfast
nothing
