Food and service were really good.
Unfortunately we were unable to book a table in the bar area for our evening meal, we were only allowed in the bar area as we had a dog - which I totally understand. Because the hotel allowed non residents in we were unable to get a table for our evening meal until later than we would have preferred which, I thought was rather unfair with us being guests in the hotel, surely guests in the hotel should take priority!

Amazing location and friendly staff

Kamer was mooi. Bed was uitstekend. Hele schone en moderne badkamer. Ligging van het hotel is geweldig en een groot pluspunt is dat ze een eigen parkeerplaats hebben. Ook het eten in het restaurant was uitstekend. Ontbijtkeuze was enorm.

Location, food
Dining chairs too low for tables. Struggled with lock on door. View of conservatory roof and walls from window.

Loved everything about this Hotel. Location, facilities, rooms, staff. So much so, we stayed an extra two nights, to what we had originally planned.
Nothing not to like.
4.3
Lovely location , nice bar area and breakfast area
Could of done with replacing broken blind in bedroom and lick of paint in places
4.3
Very homely and comfortable hotel in the heart of the beautiful village of Bamburgh . Stayed many times and will be back in August !
4.3
Friendly staff. Nothing a problem
Strong drain smell near toilets going up the first staircase
4.3
Location and food.
Breakfast was not great. Fried potatoes, which were Rock k hard. Very expensive meals.
4.3
Excellent location in Bamburgh. We could easily walk to the castle and village shops.
Although tiny, the room and beds were comfortable.
The included breakfast and restaurant staff were excellent.
The floorboards outside our room (Rm2), were very creaky and woke us several times during the night when people passed our door.
In fairness the property is very old and issues like this are to be expected.
4.3
Castle view
Hotel amenities
The two chairs designated for relaxation of castle view as paid for. Chairs (cream coloured) were worn, dirty and tacky to touch at worn areas. This made us unwilling to sit on (and thus relax), to enjoy the castle view that we had booked for.
4.3
Excellent location and the staff were amazing
Our room was a little tired, bathroom may need updating
4.3
Location of the Hotel, staff gave great service, clean and comfortable.
Cooked breakfast wasn't the best! Sausages were of poor quality! Bacon had been sat a while. Not consistent throughout our stay.
4.3
The castle view room was lovely. Spacious, comfortable and furnished to a very high standard with everything I needed. A superb view from the sitting area. Lovely art work throughout the hotel. A great lounge/reading room downstairs. Helpful staff at reception and in the bar/restaurant.
Would have liked a bigger selection of teas in the room. Taps in the bathroom needed some maintenance - one loose and one difficult to turn.
4.3
Classy and nice clientele. Staff also very nice and accommodating.

fabulous setting, large bedroom and comfortable. staff were lovely and the food was very good.
our superior bedroom was really nice but I didn’t like being on the ground floor at the side of the hotel. The windows were opposite a restaurant and we couldn’t open them at all as a consequence it was very stuffy.
4.3
brilliant location.
the rooms were “fine”. I understand that £170 for a double room is the going rate in Bamburgh but the hotel is basic, in most places you would expect a little bit more for that.
I feel bad writing this but we found the team unfriendly. The lady who checked us in was helpful, the other people who we came across (behind the bar, breakfast etc) made you feel like they were doing you a massive favour by serving you. nobody was impolite or rude, just not particularly friendly.
4.3
Stunning property in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
Great location and amazing views.
Really unique Hotel
Parts of the room were tired. We were in one of the more expensive rooms as a little treat to ourselves with views of the castle.
The shower tray had a crack in it, the toilet had a dark stain by the rim and some of the tiles and grouting were not great.
The arms on the chairs were very worn.
Just a little more tlc required.

Fantastic location, friendly staff, nice breakfast
Tiny room , rather tired , very poor shower pressure just a trickle of water

There’s no better place in Bamburgh to stay! my room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great too and the atmosphere was perfect for our wedding party.
I liked everything!
4.3
The bar area and Breakfast / Dinner room were good bright and clean. The breakfast was very good with a varied selection and also a varied menu to chose from for evening lunch and meals, the waiting staff were very nice friendly and efficient.
The bedroom / shower room was in need of a refresh, we were also disturbed each night of our stay by the fire alarm going off, when we queried this, we were told it was a fault and they are aware of this.

The staff at the Victoria were excellent. We ate in the hotel in the evening and it was very good. Breakfast was fine. My main disappointment was the room. It was very tiny and needed upgrading. We were also not keen on hearing dogs barking in other rooms. We wouldn't really recommend the hotel to friends.

We stayed for 2 nights, on the second night. The food at dinner was remarkably of lower quality than the previous night. We just put it down to the main chef having his day off.
4.3
Great food lovely restaurant and staff. Hotel is in a really good location 10 minute walk to the beach.
Room was a castle view but disappointed with the overall standard of the room. Furniture was tired marks on walls, worn carpet. “Balcony with view of castle”’did not match the photos on the website. We had a view of the other pub beer gardens, bins and parked cars which we weren’t expecting from the description or photos advertising the room.
