De kamer die wij hadden was enorm groot en een geweldig balkon en mooie badkamer
Het douchen in het bad. Terwijl er genoeg ruimte is om een douche te maken. Die een beetje goedkoop aan en dat is jammer.

Loved the views, scenery and our room was beautiful. We stayed in the red 4 poster bedroom located in the turrets. It was clean and comfortable.
The staff were not particularly welcoming, especially on arrival. They didn't greet us immediately and made us wait without acknowledgement. I would expect a hotel of that calibre to be more accommodating and friendly. However, the night porter was nice, and the manager who checked us out was professional. The food is overpriced for what it is.

Amazing place, steeped in history and truly felt like we were staying in a castle
The stairs were a little difficult for us. the bar service was a little slow.
4.1
Bed comfortable and large. Breakfast good. Spa most enjoyable
Dinner in the Dungeon disappointing. Too many unmarked doors, making access to restaurants tedious. Walks around the hotel could have been waymarked as happens on the Continent. Orangery evening meal had to be taken in the Library due to the use of the room for a large party.
4.1
Amazing property, well worth the visit for the surroundings and location.
Steam room did not work, and staff were a bit rigid when requests were made.
4.1
The lodge rooms were beautiful and spacious.
The dungeon restaurant setting was fabulous and the food was out of this world.
Breakfast was superb 👌
Great drinks selection.
Lovely surrounding walks and only around 20 minutes by local train from Edinburgh centre.
everything was amazing ❤️

Had an excellent stay at Dalhousie, the room was lovely, and the castle itself was incredible, Meals in the Orangery restaurant were very good, and reasonably priced,
Breakfast was overpriced for what you got, For the dining experience you can have a meal in the Dungeon Restaurant (we didnt), however this comes at a hefty price tag, so be aware.

Everything. Beautiful inside and out. friendly and welcoming staff.
I liked everything.

How welcoming the staff were they were very helpful and acomodating. They couldn't do enough for us, we had a private room for a 60th birthday function.
The veggie meal was not great, unfortunately. The spa facilities were very small.

Breakfast was excellent.
Meal in Dungeon restaurant excellent.
Staff friendly.
Thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay. Nothing I didn’t like.

Location splendid
Food wAs awful

The hotel is an excellent combination between a historical building and spa service. It is a beautiful place to go and disconnect for a weekend near Edinburgh. The orangery restaurant has an excellent selection of food and drink; if they know in advance, they adapt to your food requirements. The spa is small but offers a good range of offers.
Finally the have a hidden gem, the library if you have time try to take tea or a drink there!!!!
The hotel has three walking trails around the property that looks nice and easy on the paper map offered in the reception. However, there is only one sign at the beginning of the path, so you can get loss quickly, mainly because the GPS signal is weak in the area. So if you plan to go for a walk, go during day time and with plenty of time.

Fabulous experience. We were on our honeymoon and stayed in the turret room. Staff was wonderful, food fantastic. Magical experience
It was wonderful. We loved everything

The themed rooms were the best part of the castle. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It was charming to be in a real life castle with rich history behind every brick.
There could be some more options on the food menu.

beautiful property. the spa was delightful.
the bed was horrid. terribly uncomfortable and loud - every time I would roll over the bed would make noise. our room was named after a man that had a history with the castle, I joked that they used his bones to fill the mattress. luckily, there was a small twin bed in the room in this little nook also so my daughter slept there.
You are VERY limited on food choices if you opt out of the pricy, several course fancy dinner in the dungeon dining room. Your only other option is room service. The room service menu is every four year old child’s dream - hotdog, pizza, popcorn (with nuts and olives?!?) We asked if we could get some sort of salad or veggie plate and were told no.
Definitely take advantage of your time in the spa - we didn’t receive any extra spa services but enjoyed the foot bath, whirlpool, salt scrub and steam room and cool shower. There is a lovely atrium room off of the spa where you can go have a seat and have a nice cup of tea or water to cool down from spa.

the grounds , close to home , the history
the reception staff member wasn’t really interested in what I had to say when asking a question , I am a local to the area and I enjoy learning the history as will many tourists. perhaps put more history information in the room other than just one in the welcome pack or perhaps a couple books .
4.1
stately, partly spacious ambience in the castle, some renovation backlog, quite significant in detail!... typical regional breakfast, mediocre coffee, relatively attentive staff with weaknesses in detail..
I was quartered in a neighboring building, this was not apparent when booking... therefore inappropriate price-performance ratio, unacceptable approach at reception... no recommendation...
4.1
location was lovely
the service and organisation was awful the staff were not helpful at all and we had to speak to the manager only to get the most basic of services such as our room key! booked the spa months prior only for them to not have a record of us at all. bar staff was so rude we asked politely for our drinks to be told “you’ll have to wait a while because I can’t do everything”! didn’t get our room keys until after 4 and when the manager came down.
booked and PAID for breakfast only to get there and only be 2 pieces of black pudding and toast available and waited an additional 20 minutes after our booked time for a table. so many basic things were a struggle I was surprised they were sheets on the bed at the end of it

Bed, breakfast, and the scenic view. The castle is beautiful!
Location is not very accessible and the bedroom was not the same as the one we thought we booked.
4.1
Castle itself is beautiful. Spa was great and falcon experience was wonderful.
Restaurant staff was rude - denied me a table for lunch because I didn't have a reservation (no where does it say reservation required) even though restaurant was virtually empty.

the opportunity to spend the night in an 850 yr old castle, everything was perfect! my wife and I both loved it.
the weather didn’t cooperate, no fault of the facility.
4.1
A beautiful old castle set in a quiet location. Enjoyed the use of the spa and dinner in the dungeons
massive clump of hair found on the wall of our shower!
