Great hotel, reasonable price, exceptional staff
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Hotel very central and close to all amenities, Loved the refurbishment of this old building and the fact that some original features could still be seen. Very spacious room, nicely laid out, hidden kitchenette an added bonus. Hand written welcome card in room was a classy personal touch.
Hard to fault anything about the facilities or staff. Only downside was the loud music playing until the early hours from one or more venues in the close vicinity. Appears our stay coincided with 'student night'.

Nice experience in lovely Liverpool
Generally this is a great choice to stay in Liverpool. Location is amazing, as the neighborhood is super vibrant and full of nightlife, attractions and even a bit of shopping further away. My room was especially large compared to other hotels I've been to in the UK, which was a welcome change. I would actually say that the room felt emptier than it should have, as there were a couple of chairs but no couch or sofa table. Regardless, the build quality of everything was good. I especially liked the bed and lighting options in the suite. Bathroom was great, with lovely shampoo and soap choices. WiFi is solid for work and calls (the latter of which I had a great amount, and zero issues with!). Overall, for the price, I think this is an excellent option!
Main problem for me was soundproofing from inside the hotel (from outside it was impeccable). My room was connected through a (locked) door to the adjacent room, and honestly sound leaked quite a bit. This is bad if you have noisy neighbors, or are being noisy yourself. The bath in my room was large and had no curtain (for accessibility purposes), understandable but would have appreciated a couple of floor mats as the floor got very wet all over and the one mat was not enough. Another big problem is that the AC unit points directly at your face when sleeping. This can be huge for catching a cold, so it was quite inconvenient. Access to the kitchenware was slightly weird due to closet-like doors, but it's a mild inconvenience once you get used to it, and it does help with visual cleanliness of the room when not used.
