The vibe of the place in the lobby & restaurants.
Room on 4th floor was old & noisy, the wifi was so weak I couldn't make my business calls.

Fabulous hotel reminded me of the Ritz in London. Old-style glamour! Very attentive and friendly staff. The beds were so comfy.
The location was great.
A little tired in places but it wouldn't stop me from returning.

Liked everything about the hotel, tradition and luxury in Buenos Aires
The absence of taxis outside the hotel and the lack of help/support to get them

The room was very nice, also I liked fruits were put in the room. Breakfast was good in very nice place. In general the building is very beautiful.
The thing I didn't like - the stain on the head of the bed. And baby's bed I asked was dirty and shabby itself (I mean that sheets very clean and ok).
3.5
Location is very convenient to get to main attractions.
Breakfast is decent. Nothing special.
Strange staff services. I can't specified but they are not very heplfull.
Catpets in rooms. Musty air. Cars an airplane noise will not give you a nice sleep.
Rooftop bars working hours is not good for sunset in local winter time - it opens after sunset

location
and service in general everything
nothing
3.0
The location was good, the staff pleasant, the restaurant a disappointment, the roof terraces seemed attractive if you could actually get in and breakfast was unremarkable.
So ridiculously overpriced - geared for tourists who think it should be great and don't know the options - would I ever bother to go back - probably not.

Excellent
No outdoor pool. sun terrace not properly developed. Great space but no cushions for sun loungers, no small tables. No bar service in the day and needs at least a plunge pool and some
foliageetc.

the property was clean and elegant and had a nice sophisticated vibe to it.
Overpriced, truly and thoroughly overpriced, you feel ripped off as you the value offered to the price paid is not there, I have paid way less for way more! I can also add that is a very boring place to stay at, everything is a fair walk out of the way or need to get a taxi to get anywhere fun or enjoyable.
also the middle of the gym has loose floors, the stairs goin in and out of the spa are narrow and spiral, theres an elevator but it has a slope going in! talk about death trapping the place!
I was doing a workout on a machine and a cable snapped! could’ve hit me in the face but luckily no one hoy hurt. The property should rectify these issues as a matter of urgency!

Room very good as was breakfast and the 2 dinners we had. Staff excellent. Location was reasonable.
Only real fault was the pool area which was not conducive for relaxing

I got upgraded from Junior Suite to a Deluxe Suite and loved it :) I had a great time with my partner and were able to explore the f&b offerings within the hotel
timing for the spa and pool being closed at 6pm makes it a bit difficult to take advantage of those services, would’ve loved to use the spa but we chose to do the afternoon tea service which ended at the time the spa was already closed.

The location is great and the entree to the hotel exudes charm and old fashioned style. It is an icon in Buenos Aires and the lobby area is still beautiful. The concierge was super helpful and knowledgeable.
The hotel does not measure up to the standards I would expect from the leading hotel in Buenos Aires. The room was tiny and charmless, the reception lady gave no information, the breakfast was old fashioned and boring (two options of sliced cheese, croissants and some bread, no nuts and seeds, no avocados, no smoothies, etc). There was a gap under the door to the corridor of at least 2 cm, which let light and noise into our room. Everything about the hotel room felt soulless and cheap. It was what I would expect from a decent three star hotel, but not from this hotel.

Room and service were excellent.
The NY Eve dinner was very disappointing for many reasons. It was overpriced, too many children for that type of event. The entertainment was very questionable, band was ok. The main course had no options for vegetarian, gluten free etc. The buffet was very limited compared to other 5 star hotels eg Marriott, Sheraton etc. Mostly tasteless salads and limited seafood. There should have been prawns, crab and lobster on offer for that price. The sushi bar had a very small quantity of sushimi and the rolls were very basic and plain. Alcohol was not offered hardly at all for the first 2 hours unless asked for specifically. Xmas cakes were mostly dry. One of the biggest disappointments was the misleading advertising about watching fireworks from the rooftop terrace. There WEREN'T any! Perhaps the other Alvear hotel would have been a better choice for a rooftop view of the fireworks from the river area. The only real positive was the staff at the rooftop bar were great. As a repeat customer of the hotel I am not inclined to return based on this event alone. Shame on you organizers!

The hotel is nice in the beginning, with the 'old palace' look, but soon you will see it is a TRAP !
Service: DISASTROUS !!! they should FIRE all the old guys working there for 30 years and with NO INTEREST to give any service. There were at least 5 guys at the entrance of the hotel, NOBODY never ever open the doors, I have to do it myself, even when I had shopping bags or was with guests. The facilities are TOO OLD, SMELLY and not clean. The food in the hotel is EXTREMELY overpriced for what you get. We had breakfast and my green tea was disgusting full of the seeds, no tea bag, and very dark, I could not even drink it. BE CAREFUL ! they added duplicated charges every day !!! CHECK YOUR BILLS BEFORE PAYING, CAUSE THEY CHARGE SAME SEVERAL TIMES !!! I asked why they charged me twice if the ticket was signed just once, and they said: it was charged by the system !!!! BE CAREFUL, THEY TRY TO ROB YOU ! The nice bar at the entrance, the cocktails were not good and service too slow, they had 1 person who was talking with other employees and did not even checking the tables. OVERALL BAD !!!

The staff were top quality in all areas of the hotel as would be expected — friendly, courteous, and quick to respond to one’s needs. The management has anticipated travelers’ needs so that one does not need to ask for anything missing. We felt at home.
There is absolutely nothing to complain about this hotel.
