Very clean, all staff very friendly, gorgeous views and fab location
Lack of food choice, we were very British eaters and there was nothing for us on the menu. Breakfast portions were very very small and we left hungry.

Beautiful grounds
Very friendly/helpful staff
Fantastic breakfast
Our room was next to a busy/noisy road
No air con in room
There seems to be no easy access on foot, only by car

Lovely buildings and gardens. Very attentive staff.
Let down by poor communications and additional charges that are really annoying when you have already paid over £500 for two rooms. I received several totally unnecessary emails post booking which could have provided useful info about the spa and other facilities, but just seemed to want to extract more data from me. On arrival I headed for the pool and my friends who were already there. They had been told it was free but I was told it was £15 unless I booked a spa treatment, which was not possible at that time. My charge was waived after a brief discussion, but when we checked out my wife and our friends were all charged an unexpected £15. Then we were charged an 'optional' service charge for the staff. We paid, but really? Do you need to add this on a premium priced hotel?

The service in this establishment is second to none, from the moment you walk in everyone is friendly and helpful. We stayed on night and had lunch, dinner (tasting menu) and breakfast as well as using the spa facilities and it was honestly incredible. Bed was super comfy, spa is beautiful and the treatments are to die for. Dinner and breakfast were some of the best food I've eaten. The grounds are lovely and the gym is well equipped.
Food at the spa area was not very nice (especially compared to the main building for dinner and breakfast) we did have to send some food back but we were not charged for it. restaurant/bar staff in spa restaurant not as attentive, a few basics go a long way and it didn't quite hit the mark for me (especially given the prices are £££) e.g. warm sparkling wine and having to ask for a wine/drinks menu in the first place.
We requested a quiet room but sadly it was right above the main entrance to the hotel so all we heard was doors slamming all night. I had my earplugs and it was warm so we had a fan on so it sightly drowned out the noise. I can't imagine the hotel was full that weekend so not sure why we were put in that room. We also made it clear we were there for a 40th but there were no personal touches to celebrate that.

* Fantastic hotel, comfortable room, lovely view and very friendly staff - especially at check-in
* Stunning grounds which were really nice to walk around
* Wonderful on-site spa, my wife rating it as the best massage she's ever had
* Very nice breakfast
* Cheapest room only offers the continental breakfast. Was informed of this by the hotel, so upgraded to avoid disappointed. I feel that the hotel should really look to review this rule
* Use of the pool / sauna is not complimentary for hotel guests
* Gym's air-conditioning cannot be altered - was exceptionally cold

Breakfast quality and service were very good
Use of facilities such as the swimming pool being at extra charge is definitely a minus factor

Great staff, great food, pillow choice, comfortable bed
Room too hot, no air con, shower over bath

A really lovely place with great rooms, attentive and friendly staff and super food.

Lovely country house and spa.
40deg heat and we did not get an air conditioned room. There were other rooms available in the air conditioned part of the building. The bed was not comfortable.
4.3
Pleasant staff and nice grounds.
It would have been nice if they highlighted at time of booking that the rooms had no air conditioning. We did have windows that fully opened but there were no screens on the windows so you had bugs coming in during the night.

Overall lovely. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The interior of the resort is pleasant, smells great, and is super clean. The staff was attentive, friendly, and kind. The room's amenities were generous, with lots of thoughtful attention to detail. We were impressed with everything this place had to offer and will surely return.
The pillows on the bed were flat and insubstantial. We lost a night's sleep- which is a shame because the bed was great. The bathroom lighting was not ideal, and with no options to tone down the spotlights over the tub - it wasn’t relaxing. The pool and jacuzzi require a reservation and additional fees, and the hours are limited. I’ve been to resorts all around the world- I’ve not seen this particular arrangement of limitations. Pre-booking is understandable if the facilities are small- but to charge guests of the hotel additional to swim in the pool is off-putting. Still, we might have gone ahead with it if the hours were extended. The last thing- The “fresh fruit” at breakfast was kinda gross, small pieces soaked in juice. A fruit plate would have more appeal.

The taster menu was exceptional and staff are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We love visiting the Mallory.

We didn't use the Spa. We loved everything about this hotel. The atmosphere was quiet sophistication.
Our room, which we loved, was above the kitchen and we did smell the cooking sometimes

everything, we had a spectacular stay…

great location, lovely buildings and grounds.
if you don’t want a five course tasting menu you can’t eat in the restaurant. You have to go to the cafe in the spa building, not good in the poring rain . Very limited menu, poor cafe food and £12.50 for a glass of indifferent red wine! Not what you expect when you’re paying £275 a night. So no good if you’re expecting good food or indeed a warm bedroom, mine was very cold, nasty electric radiators .

Location ,facilities, and staff where very obliging credit
Not much more very helpful facilities well organised ,very enjoyable stay for our Anniversary

Nice grounds.
1. Booked room with breakfast. When I went to the breakfast room, I was told that breakfast is to be paid for if you want a hot breakfast. I was sent to another building where I received a very basic and unsatisfactory continental breakfast - bread and sugary cereals instead of a full English breakfast I had paid for.
2. Again, on Booking.com, next to swimming pool, it is not stated that you have to pay extra for this. The hotel offers no leisure facilities like this for free. You have to pay 15 pounds, and not only that, you are restricted to a maximum of one hour usage.
3. The room is tiny at 16 sq metres, and quite old-fashioned. There isn't even a heater or A/C in the room that guests may control to meet their desired preferences, and the TV is something from the 1980's it seems with no real functionality or options.
4. The rooms are right next to the road, and they are not soundproof. Cars driving by all night ensured a sleepless and very unpleasant stay.
Overall, I learnt in my one week stay in the region that the quality of service, food, room size, facilities and honest conditions are more easily found at other hotels.
4.3
The room had an loud fan noise That was permanently running (all night) and the radiators were also very noisy .
Also the beds very very bouncy ,If I moved my partner bounced up and down .
4.3
Room was spacious and clean
Staff were friendly but not experienced enough to deal with simple issues. Taking drinks order at the lounge. 3 members of staff were chatting at the check in desk while we waited 20 minutes for our drinks to be ordered. When I went to the bar to order I was told to go back and take a seat and they will come and take the order! ( There was no COVID restrictions per say). Access to the pool and facilities are extra and this is unusual and we are not talking about spa sessions.
would I book again ? No

Great service from the staff.
4.3
- Beautiful main building
- Most of the hotel staff and our waiter were kind and considerate
- Excellent choice available at breakfast
- The little teddy bears and little bathrobes and slippers in the room when we arrived were a lovely touch.
- Very nice friendly pub with excellent food just nearby
- Main building in need of maintenance, poorly insulated rooms
- Bath not cleaned properly
- No safe in one of the rooms
- Young children not made to feel welcome at mealtime
- Made to eat apart form the other guests
- Twenty minute wait for reserved dinner table
- Supper menu utterly incomprehensible
- Very limited children’s menu consisted of hummus or toast followed by hummus or pasta.
- Restaurant overpriced and serving overcooked food.
- An extra charge for access to the pool and children only allowed between 5 and 6 pm or before breakfast. No dressing gowns provided just towels and lockers not working.
