We really liked the view that they have from balcony. Located in a very beautiful place. Plus the food is amazing. And most importantly the staff. They have a great team.
Little dust here and there. But over all a great place to stay. The Manager is very helpful. Simply reach out to him if you need any help.

The place is quiet, away from the hustle of the town and offers great views. The staff is very friendly, warm and pleasant. They are willing to listen and help you in every way they can.
We went back to Cochrane Place because we had liked it a lot in 2019. However, due to the pandemic (maybe) the place looks a bit run down. The floors are creaky and the one we stayed in was extremely musty and had a very strong odour. It also seems a bit expensive for the price they charge now, given the facilities. The food served was stale in two cases (in fact it was smelling and hence had to be sent back) Such a service isn't not acceptable. Also, we had to ask at the reception for a lot of things, while that isn't a problem as such, for the price that they charge, may be this should not have been a case.

Everything about the property is likeable. The room (We stayed at room Pandim), food, views and staff are amazing. They are very helpful and cordial. The food option is too die for.

Great decor of an heritage property. Excellent food and awesome staff and services.
The bed mattress was too soft and bit uncomfortable...giving back aches.

Loved the view from the balcony, the sunrise and sunset views, and the view of the Kanchenjunga. The food was good too.
There was just one side table and one chair in a double-occupancy room. A lot of sounds could be heard at night (even the sound of cutlery and of people snoring in the next room). The view from the room was blocked by a pipe.

Cochrane Place is a heritage mansion on the outskirts of Kurseong, set among hills and tea plantations. On clear days, we could enjoy the view of Kanchengjunga from our balcony. Despite the road linking the airport and Kurseong, it is relatively quiet. The area offers multiple trekking opportunities, and the staff will gladly assist you in providing a knowledgeable guide or arranging a visit of one of the nearby tea plantations. Dinner and high tea (huge selection of teas avalailable!) in the property's restaurant was always good. Guests can choose from a variety of Indian, Tandoori, Chinese and Continental dishes.
Buffet breakfast was only average. We preferred when we could choose our options from the breakfast menu on days with less guests. Cleanliness of the restaurant (tables and floors) needs to be improved.

Cochrane place is located a little away from the town centre which is perfect since it is quiet. Has some great views from their terrace and good food to go along with it.
The staff working there are the highlight and are genuinely very warm, courteous and helpful.

Cochrane Place is steeped in history and is an experience in itself. There is an eclectic display of antiques. It's located away from the Kurseong town, in the midst of tea gardens, providing some breathtaking views of sunrise and sunset. The staff are courteous and helpful. It's very easy to strike a conversation with them and learn more about the local ways. The restaurant has an elaborate menu - including some local fare. In summary, it's the perfect place to stay in Kurseong, if you are looking to spend few calm, relaxed days.
Since it's away from the town, you are dependent on the hotel for food and other services. It might become a bit restrictive if you are staying for more than couple of days. We stayed for a night and it wasn't a bother.

Staff were very friendly and food was great. The hotel itself is splendid and their garden is magical!
Since the floor is wooden it makes a lit of sound. If someone is walking upstairs you can hear it.

Heritage Property
Beautiful location with a great view
Fantastic room with an old charm
Extremely courteous staffs
Loved the open terrace
Being a heritage hotel it needs to be cleaned a bit more. I understand maybe due to corona the maintenance is not up to the mark.
Water leaks in Bathroom wash basis.

Staff are good. Menu for the Breakfast is short but the items served were tasty.
Last visit: March 2021
The place is not worth the price it is available at. Approx 2 km from the city. The place gives feeling of old times (around 30-40 years back). Therefore, i felt as if the carpets placed on the squeaky wooden floor were not cleaned/maintained properly. Not much space to walk within the premise. No bath tub in the washroom which may be due to shortage of water in the area. The view from the place was also not so great. No swimming pool.
If you want to enjoy your stay at Kurseong, please choose Alita which is almost in the same price range. It is located at 4-4.5 km from the city centre but had good space and is located in a tea garden with scenic views.
All in all not i was disappointed with my stay at the Cochrane Place.

Though it’s a very old heritage property, it’s maintained well.
The service could be a bit better. Though the staff are really friendly, they need to be a bit more attentive to the needs of the guests. Example, nobody would pay attention to clearing the plates at our dining table in the restaurant, leading to the dishes and plates getting piled up at the table. Similarly, the dinner plates & dishes from the room were not cleared till the time of checkout the next day. These are minor issue that can be looked into.

Breakfast was limited and should had more options otherwise quite good.
We stayed in a family room which was quite large, including the washroom.
Nice, rustic architecture and interiors.
Whatever food we ordered was great.
The place looks gloomy, some areas need attention to cleanliness and maintenance. Breakfast and liquor needs more options.
