The food
On arrival the car park was very busy due to several private functions. We parked on a side road until a space became available. As we pulled into the car park a member of staff ran in front of our car & shouted "you "pr*ck.
On our first night the smoke alarm went off at 2am in the morning. We made our way to reception but there were no staff.
After a few minutes 2 staff appeared to say "it's OK there is no fire its an electrical fault in the cellar".
We were unable to sleep worrying about a potential fire as most fires start with an electrical problem.
The next day we were attending a funeral and the wake was being held at the hotel (hence us stating there) it was clearly understaffed. A member of staff served locals before us.

Really lovely hotel, great staff breakfast was excellent.
The room was very hot.

This is such a quirky hotel - beautifully decorated but also very well equipped. Bed and pillows are really comfortable, the extras in the room are excellent (coffee machine, kettle, different types of tea, fresh milk in the fridge) and the shower gels, shampoos, etc are gorgeous ... you can actually buy these to take home with you. I arrived too late for dinner but the bar & restaurant were busy; clearly popular with locals which is always a good sign. Breakfast was excellent
There was nothing I didn't like.

Loved the room especially the shower & toiletries suplied🙂 & breakfast! Great choice & food quality the bed was very comfortable, i loved the fact there was a fridge/bar in the room for our personal snacks! it was quiet with no road noise with friendly staff & lovely village type location
There wasnt any dislikes, the only thing that let it down slightly was the slightly neglected hallway with stained carpet and damaged walls, also the lack of a locked door between the hotel rooms & the public pub & restaurant downstairs although there was keycard access for such a door it was always open... just a small thing

This was a last minute stay which I booked very late, I called as I didn't see the checkin of 10pm until I'd already booked and was stuck at work so wouldnt make it in time for that, the staff who picked up reassured me everything was fine, asked an approximate time of arrival and gave me information of how to get in if I happened to be later than that, she was so lovely and when we arrived she was super helpful. The room was gorgeous, plenty of snacks and drinks available if we had wanted them, really great place to stay thank you.

Breakfast was fine, however cereal presented as cornflakes appeared to have been sweetened not a good discovery for a diabetic. The remainder was good
Not been kept awake by a disco until the early hours! I could have booked a premier Inn at a fraction of the cost and had a decent night's rest. I did mention this to your reception. When I visited previously it was the kind of experience I had hoped would be repeated sadly not.

beautifully kept. lovely facilities. comfortable beds. great breakfast. wonderful atmosphere.
the noise. I realise it is a pub but whilst your in bed and you are hot and want the window open it’s very noisy when people are outside screaming and shouting at each other it’s a little bit irritating!

The look,of the hotel, staff, and food.
Room was quite small. The mattress in the trvel cot provided for our baby was very hard.

Staff were genuinely welcoming. The room and bed were really comfortable, bedding, pillows, cover, extra large towels, very nice shower gel and shampoo. Plenty of snacks on offer and some complementary water and brownies.
I loved it all.

didn't eat at the property
Very disappointed on arrival, having stayed here a couple of times before and enjoyed the experience I brought two friends to stay overnight only to be very embarrassed to find the hotel, looking tired and grubby, the carpets very stained, the bar tables messy and needing a good clean. receptionists could have been more professional especially the ones on our arrival.
will not be returning.
