Gloomy impression

Location

The room according to the description on Booking.com should be 35m, but in reality it was 15m. Overall, the room gives a gloomy impression. The room is dark, because the windows face the courtyard. There was no electricity for most of the stay, so it was dark after dark. I did not feel like having breakfast and left the hotel as early as possible in the morning.

Bargain stay!

Great budget stopover on the way to Lake Quilatoa. 4 min walk to the historic center/ Parque Vicente León. Free, simple breakfast of juice, coffee, fresh fruit, plain scrambled eggs, and bread and cheese. Large window with blackout curtains faced the outdoor hallway. Large, clean room with 2 beds. Simple, but comfortable. Good water pressure in shower. Quiet street, quiet guests. Restaurant, bar, and lobby lounge/recreation area with ping pong and pool tables. Free parking in the garage down the street.

A little difficult to find because it's tucked around a corner on a one-way street and the entrance is through the restaurant. Credit cards are not accepted. Cash or pay by phone using Zelle app. No Wi-Fi in the rooms. The rooms are in the building next to the restaurant & lobby, separated by an open air courtyard. At night, it is too dark to see the steps, so have your phone flashlight handy. No elevator. Dark stairway. No door to the toilet/shower, so you have to close the door between the sink and the bedroom. It seemed pointless to have a separate, huge room for just the sink.

It's probably the best hostel during my Ecuadorian trip

Se siete veramente low badget va bene, se cercate qualcosa di più comodo non ve lo consiglio.

Posizione comoda nel centro storico. Per caso abbiamo scoperto che il parcheggio custodito a 50m dall’hotel fosse gratuito per chi alloggiasse al Golden Rest, dalle 18 alle 9 di mattina.

Camere fredde Letto piccolissimo, in due facevamo fatica a dormire Doccia con acqua tiepida, non calda e il proprietario si era dimenticato di spiegarci come “attivare” l’acqua calda. Inoltre, per due giorni abbiamo avuto puzza di umido nel bagno perché il tappetino era zuppo di acqua della doccia che perdeva e non ci sono stati cambiate le asciugamani e ne rifatto il letto. Colazione non continentale, ma molto semplice con uova sbattute, formaggio, caffè e del pane. Cene semplici con riso e pollo.

Great location, close to a major square but very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful. i think the building must be very, very old. I found that very pleasant. I would stay there again!

My room was a little "old," but very comfortable.

Old colonial style hotel

Colonial style hotel that you would never believe from the outside. Very impressive building. We had a lovely room (it was not standard) with a huge bed. It was quiet and we slept well. The locks we're fiddly but were all changed in all the rooms while we were there.

Food wasn't that great. Breakfast a bit bland and luke warm coffee which we got re heated.on a couple of occasions. We went for half board. I wouldn't recommend that option

Convenient and affordable stay

It was the perfect location to explore Cotopaxi national park and visit the Laguna di Quilotoa.

It was quite noisy and the room didn’t have a very secure lock.

great value for money + you can go on the roof floor and enjoy the most amazing view on Cotopaxi notably sunrise and sunset of the weather is with you. plus it is good value for money if you need to spend the night in Latacunga to continue your trip to qu’îlot pas, Cotopaxi, etc!

the rooms do not have proper unique locks- The keys are simple flat screw drivers (with the design of an ancient key). Nothing happened to us or our things and the staff is very vigilant but this should be noted if one expect to leave all valuables in the room

Very good

The hotel is super pretty in an old historic house. Its also in a great area and very central. The beds are very comfortable. And everything is clean.

The breakfast is super basic and it takes quite long to get (especially if you wanna take an early bus). The rooms are quite dark.

Classic Hotel in the Historical Center

Wonderful classic building with a great open courtyard for meals, lots of character. The room was large and comfy, and there are great mountain and city views from the roof. The location is perfect in the old city. Nelson, the manager is friendly and helpful and stored my luggage for free while I walked the Quilotoa Loop.

Best stay

Location is amazing, the gentleman at the reception is super nice and helpful, he can give advised on where to go and transportation. Rooms are clean. Hot water is really hot. :-) Nice breakfast included.
