The staff was the highlight of our stay. Extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the manager, Daniel. It has a very central location, it was very clean, comfortable and welcoming.
Everything was good.

Pristine and welcoming, the staff were very professional and kind with attention to detail (for example they prepared us breakfast to go because we had an early morning flight).
The breakfast was a traditional Ecuadorian and flexible to our needs, really enjoyed the stay there.

Couple blocks from the main square in Centro Historico. Super nice staff. Fantastic breakfast.
Old style but with character room.

Great location great building architecture
The building is not well maintained, our room was extremely noisy (street noise and poor phonic insulation), poor quality of services.

An excellent location near parque Calderon in the heart of the historic Center. We have stayed in many hotels in Cuenca but never really 'found our spot'. We are happy to stay that Hotel Carvallo is 'the spot'. We loved everything about it: The breakfast, the amazing staff, the room, the incredible shower. Very quiet and comfortable and great value.

location
the room on booking it said has a balcony & hotel hadn't got balconies. Rooms have windows facing indoor courtyard & we had a small window in the corner & room very dark. breakfast was a bit messy sometimes we ordered & others a bit of a buffet

The hotel was in the historic district and classic. It was so fun to stay in an estate that had been turned into a hotel. The breakfast was excellent and the staff treated us like family.
Loved everything. One suggestion would be to research the history of the hotel. Who was the first family? Who was the architect? Who else lived in the property. Guests love knowing the history of old hotels. we loved our stay.

Huge bed, high ceilings and antique furniture. What this hotel lacks on technology of a modern 5 star, it certainly excels in style.
As everything is old here, so is the bathroom.

Loved the staff, front desk superior service. House keepers very professional and helpful.
Reserved the suite, however its located in the front of the hotel. The traffic, train, late night motorcycles was very loud and disturbing. It was as if they were in the Suite plus really COLD temp.(didn't sleep, stayed awake)the first night in that suite and requested a change of room the following day. That was not an issue, I downgraded to a standard room. My dissapointed is I should have been reimbursed for the Suite charge, and charge for the downgrade which was considerable less. I asked, that was not afforded me, instead I was credited for laundry and a dinner charge $45.50. Very disappointed. Other than this everything else ok.

The breakfast was very poor. A little expensive for what it offers.

Great location, nice ambience, friendly staff.
Really nothing. Maybe better towels, wifi needed a boost on last day, after a large group checked in.

Beautiful family owned and run hotel in a perfect location. Breakfast was great. They also have a restaurant on site (Arlene, the daughter, is an accomplished chef) and we had a terrific meal on our last night in Cuenca. We were there for 7 nights and it was like staying with family. Joshua took such great care of us. We will definitely stay there again.

Wow! This hotel was so cool! We only stayed here one night, which I regret, because I wish we would have stayed here all the nights we were in Cuenca! I couldn’t stop saying “wow!”. Beautifully restored historic house made in to a hotel. Our room was so gorgeous with large glass doors that could open overlooking the street. We stayed on the top floor in a suite. Very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were extremely kind. They let us drop our bags off at 7:30AM while we explored the city. They also made breakfast bags for us when we had to leave early on a tour before breakfast hours. If you are in Cuenca, you have to stay here! Book the suite, you won’t regret it!

Spotlessly clean, family owned and run. The chef is a family member and the food was some of the best I’ve had in Ecuador.

The facility is an old remodeled building with an interesting style and some stylish antique furniture. The staff was very friendly. I had a huge room with windows to the main street that was fantastic.
I had a huge room but it got cold in the evenings and night and there was not heating system and I was not prepared for it so I did get cold. The internet was slow. It was a painful process to share my pictures and I could not download the short videos I took during the day. The breakfast was okay, nothing fancy but I got one croissant and each additional croissant had an extra cost :-(
