Lovely country style hotel: in the middle of town! Excellent restaurant, very nice room.
The building is old and there are inevitable noises from radiators, bathroom extractor and floors, but the good fire doors keep the sound out from the busy restaurant and bar.

Centre of Caerleon in excellent location.
Attractive, old building. Stayed in a cottage room.

We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade on check-in so ended up in one of the cottages which was really lovely. Very comfortable and stylish room with a little garden. I wish we’d had more than one night to enjoy it! Really relaxing setting, beautiful old building. Loved the bar area and breakfast was brilliant.
I was particularly looking forward to dinner having followed on social media for some time, but we were unfortunately a little disappointed with the quality of the food. Some good flavours and ideas, but the basque cheesecake was split and some ingredients needed more love considering the price tag.

Lovely comfy room and friendly staff
Nothing to dislike really.

The hotel is very nice, very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The gardens were exceptionally nice, and there were many nice places to sit. The bottled water that came complimentary with the room was nice. The bed was nice. Breakfast had both positives and negatives. They had croissants, pan chocolate, and nice bread for toasting. There is also a very nice Indian restaurant just around the corner from the hotel.
The biggest problem I had was the internet, which was intermittent at best upstairs and unconnectable in the room I was staying in. The remote control did not work particularly well. I can't say that I a fan of the cooked breakfast. It had a Spanish theme, and the hash browns had a very strong herb taste that I felt was unpleasant. The hotel is also a bit of a challenge to find. I completely missed the sign saying the The Priory, and had to park up and find the hotel on foot, before eventually parking.

Really loved the designs and location of the place. Nice to see it had been newly refurbished breakfast was great great portion sizes.
I hadn’t been in since it has been re done but I was unsure where reception was as it was in the shop area not separate. But the staff were lovely and got us checked in.
Our cottage was amazing really amazing lovely decor inside the only thing our floor was quite dirty.
It didn’t look dirty but we only realised when we come out of the shower and walking around bare foot our feet were dirty. We had to wear shoes out of the shower due to this. It’s sad as that’s probably the only thing I’d say the room was incredible! Maybe some disposable slippers would have been good?

Das Frühstück war etwas Zurückhaltend.

Breakfast each morning was delicious, the gardens are super pretty.
Parking was easy and the staff were very friendly.

Absolutely stunning property. Our room was fantastic so luxurious and clean. We had tapas and cocktails in the bar and it was amazing. The service was so good we had the same waiter/Batman serve us all night which gave it that extra touch. I can’t wait to go back.
Nothing.

Like it's history and where it is .
This stay was not like our first in December. This time, I was given the wrong rooms .I paid more for two rooms as I wanted the same as we had before.
They tried to give me 12/14/16
Ended up getting the rooms I paid for 20/21/12
When we turned up, we were told no hot breakfast was on offer.
So we went somewhere else for breakfast.
Was not going to pay 15 for half what was normally on offer.
Our meal at night they forgot one person's meal also our daughters dinner was missing potatoes when they did send them they were stone cold as if they had come from the fridge.
They put them in the microwave to heat up.
Staff rude at bar.

The bedrooms were clean and well presented
The bar and restaurant was not as I remember from years ago
It has the same look and feel but the quality of food and service was definitely not the same standard or experience 🥲
The breakfast was absolutely awful!! I’ve stayed in economy hotels and had a far better experience it was very disappointing and when I complained about the quality of the food I had a very frosty response from the breakfast manager …… we sent our breakfast back in the end and left …. I wish now that I hadn’t paid for it and gone into caerleon and purchased it …….
Terrible response from staff

This most excellent hotel has real character and the staff are warm, welcoming and very helpful. The room have an old world feel and was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and our one regret is that we didn't book for dinner.
The wifi was intermittent in the room but not an issue and nor did spoil our stay
5.0
Check-in, bathroom, building quality and character.
Restaurant service was not up to standard. Not proactive.

Beautiful garden with a nice terrace to enjoy a drink. Plenty of space available on their private parking lot. We had a very nice and very large room, including both a standalone bath, a walk-in shower and even a private little garden.
The kitchen was extremely slow. We had to wait a (very) long time for both our dinner as for the afternoon tapas on the next day.
It was asvertised they had EV-charging possibilities. On arrival it appeared they only had 1, and it's only a 3kw charger, which is extremely slow. Another guest was already plugged in and he needed the entire night to get his car charged. For a hotel and restaurant this big & pricey, I would have expected faster (and more) chargers... However, the staff was friendly enough to let us charge our car after we had checked out and while we were visiting the town.

Comfortable cottage room, overpriced.
Poor food, mostly from frozen, wet and undercooked.
Very bad service from a young staff bar tender spoilt our visit—see my full review on line.
Massive deterioration in quality and ambience of the restaurant since Miguel the previous manager departed

Breakfast was delicious. Loved the set up of your restaurant and how you order from the blackboard! Staff were very polite and helpful. I would recommend this to other people for sure, I was happy Celtic Manor was full as I wouldn't have had the opportunity to visit your hotel.
Table for laptop is a bit tight though. It would be great if you had a bag for sanitory disposals in the toilet.

Beautiful hotel, fabulous gardens etc
The management were very inflexible. We arrived after a 2 hour drive at about 2pm, it was our Wedding Anniversary. We booked in and came down to get some food, a sandwich, anything basically but we were told they were far too busy to serve us !!! I said but we are residents. It was referred to the manager who said no, too busy. Not very good. So we went over the road to a friendly pub and ate there.
So, we were booked into the restaurant for a meal at 5.30pm at the Hotel, so we cancelled it and ate in the pub instead.
We had also requested wine in our room as it was a special occasion, that didn't happen either!!
Beautiful venue but our Wedding Anniversary was spoilt by the inflexibility of the Management. The staff were lovely.
If you want to be treated specially and would like a hotel that will go out of their way to make a stay special, this is not the hotel to choose.

Absolutely beautiful characterful property in a very central location. We stayed in one of the mews rooms, which was tastefully decorated and very spacious. Breakfast was cooked to order and there were plenty of vegetarian options.
There was some confusion with our booking and our dogs although I had specified it on more than one occasion I was informed upon arrival that we had not booked a dog friendly room. The lady on reception was very accommodating and said they could make an exception but we were still charged £40 for the 2 dogs for one night even though no bedding, bowls etc were provided for them which I thought was a bit excessive.

Lovely clean and well decorated room with good facilities. Lady on desk very professional and helpful.
Very strange way to order dinner. My friend couldn't read the menu or hear what the server was saying. You don't choose your meat or fish so why aren't orders then at the table? Food well cooked but no sauces for fish...a bit boring. I had skate with new potatoes and sweetcorn. No butter apparently??

Atmosphere is amazing! I have to say that Sarah so AMAZING and helpful. If you want to work with anyone work with Sarah on the front desk. Also an adorable young man that I did not get his name, but I met him on the last few days I was there. He was so nice and considerate. He was not the manager he was one who wore a blue shirt like Sarah just amazing too.
There was a limited amount of breakfast. I asked for a scramble egg not a fried and they refused to do this stating that they cannot scramble. Would not work with people that had food differences. Breakfast was a let down as they would not work with me on a different style egg. Or even ketchup. They would forget to clean my room some days and I had to ask for a broom to sweep my room. The stain on the floor marked my feet. We had to lay down items on the floor to step on so our feet would not get discolored. Very frustrating.

Room and facilities - good. Cleanliness - excellent. Dinner - lovely
The coffee maker didn’t work. The tea and coffee both in the room and at breakfast were not very nice. Better to stick to good traditional recognised brands.
Breakfast disappointing - quality of the food and the cooking of it too, but trying to be a bit too unusual. I would also suggest a range of juices and cereals, fruit, etc. be available as self-service and sourdough bread is not ideal for toast.

Food was excellent, service manager was very helpful and attentive.
Only 1 chiar in room, scaffold outside the bedroom window.

Lovely hotel in nice gardens close to Roman attractions.
Helpfulp and friendly staff at reception.
Excellent restaurant.
Restaurant and breakfast had Spanish theme this time, it did not do it for us.
Coffee at breakfast was aweful - we arrived at 10:15; coffee had been made at 08:00.
Selection of beers is (still) bad.
Mattress on bed too soft for comfort.

Excellent breakfast, superb staff, interesting building with sympathetic renovation. Will be going back as soon as we can and taking our family. We were given the WiFi code when we checked in, the hotel is in a great location with a cycle/walking route that goes to Newport. Two museums within walking distance and a historic walk around the village. Lovely outside seating area with well kept gardens

Breakfast very different from expectations. Mainly Spanish in content. Unfortunately half of mine was burnt and inedible.
The bar was very busy and there was a great buzz
Our room, the bathroom and the corridor to the room were very hot.
The room and bed were small. If we'd been larger people we would not have been comfortable.

Amazing location- such a treasure!
The room was too small for international travellers with luggage! This made me feel crammed and a bit claustrophobic which is a shame as the hotel and staff were amazing!

Excellent breakfast
Free carparking onsite
Friendly and helpful staff
Bar service could be better
