Perfectly situated in the centre of Bayeux within walking distance of the historic centre. Beautiful house and Carole is a wonderful attentive host who is so helpful in every way. The breakfast was wonderful and beautifully presented. A perfect stay in a lovely city.

Close to train station and Bayeux downtown area.
We had the attic room so the shower was a little challenging. We knew this going in. I would still stay again if that was the only room left.

Fantastic location. Superb host. Immaculate property
Not a big deal, but the top floor doesn’t have a stand up shower

lovely house, had whole upstairs to ourselves
bathroom a bit small for such a large bedroom, street light came right into bedroom

Exceptional- would highly recommend! Carole is wonderful, property is beautiful and well located in the town. Easy walk to museums and restaurants. Incredible breakfast too!

Carole goes out of her way to make guests feel at home. She provided everything we needed to take advantage of all Bayeau has to offer. Dinner at Le Pommier, a restaurant Carole recommended was superb. And, breakfast with fresh eggs from Carole's hens along with homemade jams and apple cake, local cheeses, yogurts, fresh fruit, and much more made for a delightful way to end our stay.
We only wish that we were staying in Bayeau for more than one night so that we could have enjoyed Carole's B&B for a longer period of time.

A very nice place, excellent room, great location, very good breakfest and the best thing is the owner Madam Carol - that does whatever is needed for the guest.

Breakfast was a treat. We really enjoyed the many apple dishes offered during our stay. Very good homemade jams!
We enjoyed the morning greeting and also visiting with other guests staying in the home.

beautiful property, well kept gardens, gorgeous interior. top notch.

Spacious bedrooms and living room, beautiful yard to relax and enjoy your coffee. Breakfast was wonderful and Carole our host was a wealth of information on local tourist attractions. Would highly recommend. Just a few minutes walk to the heart of Bayeux.
Sidewalk to town was narrow, out if owner's control. Otherwise a great find especially for groups since the house has 3 individual bedrooms.

This B&B is my favorite stay of anywhere in Europe, Carole, the host, is absolutely wonderful and so is the property. I highly recommend staying here if it is available and you are wanting to visit the Normandy region!
4.8
Initially it was a bit hard to find but once we did the location proved to be great for access to the train station and downtown. The breakfasts were delightful and "French" with crepes, fantastic bread and croissants, coffee, tea, cheese, and other delectables. The backyard was pleasant with a patio and hedges around.
The important thing for a new visitor is to understand the easy walking route to the B&B. Once you understand it, the walk is easy, even with luggage. The taxis and others do NOT seem to know when Clos de Bellefontaine is and you could be directed to the main hotel of that name. Stop in at the information area and obtain a local map. CDB is #1 on the map.

If you want a truly French experience with an exceptional host, Clos de Bellefontaine is definitely the place to stay. This gorgeous Maison de Maitre is hidden behind a gate and walled garden and truly like a little oasis with the most delightful gardens brimming over with blooming lilac during our stay.
Everything from the beautiful wooden, winding staircase, and stylish decoration, the house has been sympathetically and beautifully restored and is a comfortable, warm and welcoming place to stay.
Best of all, Carole is a first class host. Nothing is too much trouble for her! She will make sure that you start your day with an incredible breakfast feast and will happily book restaurants for you and give you many ideas and suggestions as to what to see and do in the area. (You don't need to go to the Tourist Information office!)
The final bonus is that it's only a few minutes walk into the gorgeous town of Bayeux and all that has to offer in the way of sightseeing and gastronomy.
Thank you, Carole for a wonderful stay with you! We hope to return or see you in Panama in the future!
The internet is very slow.

Carole was an exceptional host- wonderful food and great conversation. She was very communicative and her B and B is lovely and homey. She is very knowledgeable about the area and we felt like we had our own private travel assistant!

Beautiful place, easy to find, clean, comfortable and excellent location. Carole was a friendly wealth of local information, and her restaurant recommendations were perfect. Breakfast was delicious. Would absolutely recommend and would certainly stay here again.

Location was very central to all of the Normandy sites. The facility was absolutely beautiful and impeccably clean. Our hostess, Carole, was quite possibly the nicest woman in France. The breakfast was superb and included many home made (and grown) items. The stay is well worth the cost. I cannot overstate the quality and experience. I would give it more than 5 stars if such a thing existed.

Outstanding BnB...one, if not the best, we've ever stayed. Perfectly located for walk or ride to local activities and to the beaches of Normandy and Bayeau is a wonderful town.
4.8
Carole and the Clos were fabulous. Perfect location on a quiet street, about a seven-minute walk from the heart of Bayeux. Room was delightful, with a beautiful view of the back lawn, and the washroom was large and well-equipped. Downstairs common room with beverages and a chance to socialize. Breakfasts were varied and delicious, and Carole was a fount of information and advice on places to visit and, especially, eat. Highly recommended.
Nothing.

The house is on a 1 way street and somewhat difficult to find. Make sure of your directions.
Beautiful house. Carol was warm and welcoming, informative and a superb hostess. The bedroom suite was large, beautiful, with a modern bathroom. Breakfasts were fantastic.

This was my favorite hotel on our France trip. It may my favorite hotel that I have ever stayed in. The house is gorgeous. The grounds are immaculate. The breakfast was wonderful. We were given something new to eat each day. Perfect location, just a short walk to the town center. Parking on site. Our room was beautiful on the top floor, and we had the entire attic floor to ourselves ( top floor with the twin beds). The room was large and the bathroom was huge. I really cannot say enough wonderful things about this special place.
Not to mention Bozille (the cat), and Marcelle (the dog), who lived on the owners side, just made the visit that much more enjoyable.
NOTHING. It was perfect.
