The ambience and view
1.0 / 10.0
Spacious room and sea view. access to pool bar and restaurant. walk on the beach.
Front desk helped to arrange taxi for our return.
I had kerala porotta and mutton roast from the restaurant and got food poisoning(stay was for 2 days and could not eat anything for next 2 days and was sick for one whole week). Asked reception to get some medicines from outside and they gave a pharmacy number and asked to do by ourselves (staff were not much helpful even when explained I fell sick after having food from their restaurant). The pharmacy they gave number, charged double of actual price as well. The bill inside medicine packet had delivery charge already added to bill, but front desk asked us to give them a bit extra to give for delivery when the medicines were delivered at the front desk.
Internet was super slow, found it difficult to manage calls as I was working.
Bathrooms/toilets were not clean. I stayed in the hotel 4-5 years before and the bathrooms were super clean back then.
Not at all worth for the high room prices

Didn't really like my room, it wasn't what I asked for. If the room I wanted was more expensive, then they should have just said, and I would of paid for it.
But I really enjoyed my time there and am going back in 8 days' time. I have found out he class of room I wanted and have booked it.
The only thing I hated about the hotel was the restaurant staff lack of ability to speak English. They say they cater to international clients. I know it is classed as not the peak season, so 99% of clients were Indian. But they should arrange some kind of English lessons, as Hotels in Egypt, UAE and lots of other countries do.

Location
Stayed in several hotels during our week-long stay at Kerala and this hotel was the worst experience. The beds were ordinary, extra matress provided had uncomfortable springs pressing on body. Strange smell in bathroom. We chose a "pool view" room, but the view was blocked by dense foilage. The staff curtly said better rooms are of "higher category" -- as if the money that we had spent was for nothing. We have got the same/better room quality/amenities in other areas in less than half the price of Uday Samudra

The ambience of the resort was awesome. Had a rustic touch and the swimming pools were refreshing.
The rooms were big and clean.
The TV had issues sometimes

Rooms and old.
The water heater was broken.
The room was just over an area where there was some function. They were playing songs the entire evening all the way until we slept. Came to the hotel for some peaceful time, but these music and festivities were really annoying.

Location is good and breakfast was good. Room size was good and view from my room was excellent. The gym was very good. Overall the inside of the hotel had a traditional look and I loved it.
I stayed in the Ocean view suite 308 but they didn't even check if wifi works in that room. It took them couple hours to get that fixed. None of the plug points were international standard and I called for an international plug and they sent one but that could not get into any of the plug points in that room. I called them so many times and I felt bad troubling them. In the end I took the TV adapter and connected my laptop as I had to attend an important meeting. The shower area has nothing inside to keep a soap bar on. When you pay a big amount for 1 room you expect all these small things that I have mentioned to be well tested to a users comfort.

Very rustic feel of the place overall was good. Large campus with greenery.
Lack of attention to details and finesse. Facilities appear dated.

The food was amazing. The SPA was nice.
Moisture in the room. Floor was wet all the time and also the bed sheets.

Staffs were very comfortable.
Charge for breakfast was not Rs.450. Please provide the charge correctly. In dinner, some items were not up to the mark. Ice cream and pastry were disastrous . Other items were nice.
