Convenient, good value especially seeing you get breakfast included.
Heater in the room wasn’t sufficient for the temperature outside which went down to -3. I couldn’t get the heater to go above 17 Celsius which made the room cold all night. The electric blanket was only working on one side of the double bed, but luckily I was on my own. The only way I could get warm was to climb into bed. Not the kind of double room you want if you’re a private person. The bathroom is open, no doors so you can hear everything. 😔

Love the on-site restaurant and the electric blankets on the bed.

Breakfast was simple, no cooked food and used crockery was piled high/ should have been cleared.
It would have been good to knowhotel is undergoing a major refit but would not have affecte our decision to stay. Our room was comfortable

It’s an old building but all works well. Parking available up behind the hotel - walk across to upstairs rooms with your luggage.

The food and location was great. One of the most comfortable beds I stayed in during my trip

Our room was compact, fairly well laid out and in the middle of the main street of Deloraine. The hotel is steeped in history and a beautiful old building. Breakfast was included and fabulous, it was continental, help yourself brekky, served in a large drawing room filled with period furniture and we had the opportunity to chat to other guests while eating.
We did like our room, it had been fitted with a galley ensuite and you have to walk through the shower area to get to the toilet which is fine until someone uses the shower and then it becomes necessary to dry the floor with the towels to prevent a slip or fall. A TV in the room would have been great.

This was a great find. Scored a lovely fresh, bright room with a large private bathroom down the hall.
Two flights of stairs to the room and the tooting of the nearby trains during the night may not suit some but it was fine for me.

A great place with character. Definitively not your ‘standard’ rural hotel. Would love to come back.

Wonderful service, cosy and well-appointed room. Loved the free trail walks organised by the hotel to spot wild platypuses in the nearby Meander Lake.
No Nespresso coffee machines for better coffee (for Comtinental breakfast provided). Otherwise, better plunge coffee powders would be acceptable too.

Breakfast was self serve and suited me perfectly. Plenty of choice. Also, the staff were friendly, professional and polite, especially Tristan. Made the whole experience memorable.

Absolutely fantastic! Mark and Amanda were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was gorgeous with a Japanese theme, and we cannot fault a single thing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Empire and plan to return for another stay. Even had Mark help us spot platypus in the river and share lots of information about the area. Can't recommend highly enough!
