Location was excellent. Although the rooms are a bit dated it is still a good motel. Good value for money.
Although breakfast was included in the room rate, we had to pay extra for the beverages (which we found a bit strange). The food was quite good but chooses were limited.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay overnight.
We were checked in quickly by the loveliest lady in reception who upgraded us to a nicer room with a lake view.
The room was spotlessly clean with the most comfortable bed and the room had everything we needed.
We were given details of where to find the restaurants nearby for dinner, and as it was raining we were lent umbrellas .
The complimentary breakfast the next morning was superb, one of the best we have had on our extensive travels with a large varied menu too.
Our waitress was delightful, and took our orders with a smile giving us advise and directions for the next leg of our journey.
We cannot express enough what a fabulous place this is to stay

A night away
Firstly bookings.com I had reserved the night but the money was paid, no cancellation fee must mean no cancellation, had to cancel wasn't up to it, Brenda said I could reschedule to Friday, if they could resell the room, another lady said today ok for tomorrow as I'd already paid for it, and confirmed it to be the one off payment which I agreed, Brenda called back confused saying I need to pay another $209, for tomorrow so all up $418, with cancellation fee, so I said no as it was a waste of money for just one room, my only holiday

The location is great. Easy walk to restaurants, shops and beach.
Lagoon front rooms have an excellent view.
The price advertised on Booking.com is not for waterfront room. We were allocated a room in the second row building which has no water view. I requested a lagoon front room but was told every room was full and nothing was available. This was definitely not true. The place was almost empty. I was charged an extra $50.00 per night to upgrade to Lakeview room, which I was told was the only available. It was also implied at check in that I shouldn’t have been so cheap as to book on the website. I noticed only two other cars in the Carpark besides mine and a quick walk around the property at night confirmed that all but three rooms were empty.
The other main reason for booking this place was the claim that it provided the best breakfast on the central coast. This was not the case. Shortly after check in, I received notification by text message that a chef was unavailable for breakfast and a hot breakfast would be bought to our room at 8.30 the following morning. I was surprised and disappointed that we were unable to choose what was served or asked about any food intolerance or allergies. What arrived in the morning was two mushroom omelettes which had clearly been heated in a microwave. Overcooked and unpleasant to eat. My partner does not eat mushrooms so was unable to even try it. I had two bites of mine but it was not very nice. Unusually the plate had been garnished with a sprinkle of yellow curry powder which gave a pungent smell and overpowered the omelette. We walked to Terrigal and purchased breakfast.
The next morning we received eggs Benedict which was more palatable but again garnished with yellow curry powder which gave an overpowering aroma and taste again.
Definitely not the best breakfast in the central coast. Not even close to the best in Terrigal.
It is my opinion that they did not want to open the restaurant or pay the chef for so few guest in the hotel. There was obviously someone there cooking but nowhere near the expectation of the best.

The room wasn’t super clean. The room we had was near main road and reception which made it very busy

we had two rooms booked, room 3 and 10 both had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The lagoon is right out the front and a short walk across the sand to the patrolled area of Wamberal Beach.
Room 10 had a tiny kitchen and room 3 didn’t.
Room 3 could hear the traffic

Location is ideal for us - family of four. Rooms are big enough for two adult and two teenagers.
There are plenty of power outlets - we needed them on Friday evening to power 3 laptops and 4 phones - close outstanding tasks (schools for kids), study for wife and work for me. Fridge is sized enough if you need put drinks, food, even fishing baits in freezer if you are about of fishing :)
Also we liked breakfast (it was included in our stay) time - till 11am - sometimes you would like to sleep long enough...
Everything was very, very good.
Cannot complain about anything, the only tiny thing to be better - air-dry lines or something similar for swimming dresses drying.

Everything. We were arriving after hours and checkout called and left clear instructions. The location is wonderful, you walk out from your verandah to a little lake and 3 minutes to the beach. There's something very calming in the air at The Clan, felt so relaxed. Theres a feeling of going back in time to how holidays were in my childhood (60s/70s).
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was perfectly equipped for us with fridge, microwave, as well as the usual coffee and tea. Would have loved to stay longer. Our only regret was not trying their breakfast/lunch cafe, looked so cute looking out at the lake.
