Comfort level good, bathroom very nice, good to have a reasonable restaurant on site.
Staff on initial reception not especially welcoming.

Love the mulled wine (the best I've ever had in nz). The restaurant was full and the food was amazing, we had seafood chowder, pork ribs, and a burger. The room is spacious and love the idea of providing the electronic blanket.
Everything is perfect.
4.3
no soundproofing in rooms, hallway doors banging constantly was very irritating
4.3
Nice meal at restaurant.
The wall above the bath was not clean properly otherwise excellent room.
4.3
Nice lodge with updated rooms.
Hallway door was quite loud with people coming and going from other rooms into the night. Room itself was good size and very comfortable.

I've stayed in a lot of hotels, but none that are like this.
The place was fantastic, and it's easy to see that cleanliness and standards matter. The bathroom was spotless, even the light fittings were spotless.
The high-sided bath is big enough for two people and was an incredible way to relax at the end of a long drive.
The woman at reception was super lovely and phoned us to see if we would be checking in late (which I really appreciated), and nothing was an issue.
Breakfast was lovely and I can't complain about the price. A really lovely spot and I hope to stay here again!

Love the room the beds were comfy and clean staff were in general very nice , gave us good info too 👍
Sadly we stay one night being a Saturday night , the FJ went til at least midnight so couldn’t sleep and then people in the corridor outside our room coming and going til all hours , we loved the room but the noise really did ruin our opinion of the place , but the cheuteu itself is a awesome place 🙃

Woodsy country inn, comfortable room and bed, memorabilia from the Lord of the Rings cast who stayed in the hotel. The heated indoor pool under a large wooden roof with a footbridge was fabulous.
Dinner offerings in the hotel restaurant and bar could be improved
4.3
pool, location, bathrooms
pillow way too high

The service from the staff from check in to restaurant very good
The food was pricey for what we received, I had a very small entre sized salmon main and was charged $38...rip off!
4.3
Beautiful location, very clean, lovely building.
Breakfast was expensive and was not value for money.
4.3
Great atmosphere, cozy ski-hotel like restaurant, rooms clean and comfi. Close to some other restaurants and easy to do walks from hotel location.
Size of 'queen suite' is relatively small, it's just a normal hotel room.
Pity the restaurant fire place was not used in the evening to add to the cozy feel.
4.3
The room was a lovely size with a spacious sitting area. It was fantastic having a beautiful big deep bath to relax in. Comfortable bed.
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful
Restaurant meals were pricey and quite small.
4.3
Spacious room, alpine style, view of the river
The hot room. Didn't seem to have a means of cooling it down, apart from opening the windows, which luckily open.
4.3
great location, lovely hotel, food was fabulous, waiting staff in restaurant very friendly and efficient
we were looking forward to a spa and sauna but it wasn’t operational
4.3
mountain feel.
4.3
The beds were comfortable and it is great location for access to the mountain. The restaurant food was very good and the staff were friendly.
The place was not busy and we were put very near the restaurant and automatic doors so was kept up late and woken early. The website pictures showed a bath but we got a room with a shower only and though the water pressure was great the temperature kept fluctuating from the temperature I set it to scolding hot. The room is definitely set up to get you to buy all of your meals.

Indoor pool was amazing - heated to about 38 degrees Celsius. All the walls & ceilings of hotel were wooden, such a special feel, just like we were in a ski chalet. Hotel had a bar and restaurant on site, which was great.
4.3
The hotel is well maintained and sparkling clean!

Walls are nice.
There was a big scary spider in our bed!!

First time staying here. The room is a good size, loved the little balcony, although the outdoor table needed a clean. The bathroom was really lovely, fantastic big bath. Great to have the two restaurants on site.
The bed gave me a really sore back and neck as the mattress was much too soft. The reception staff were not friendly, but all the restaurant and bar staff were great.

well maintained & tidy
