lovely hosts, beautiful garden, great breakfast, nice decorated room. Flor and her husband did everything they could to make us comfortable. Maria gave us good hiking tips. We used the kitchen to prepare a simple dinner as we didn’t want to go out for dinner anymore. Flor accommodated us where ever she could.

Casa Piñeiro is by far one of my favorite places to stay. As an experienced international traveler who has stayed in all kinds of hotels (from 5* resorts, to boutiques to rural hotels), this place is unique. It is run by a lovely couple, Flor and Juan who keep the house in a pristine condition, with an utmost attention to detail and most importantly, love. You can tell these people absolutely adore their place and it translates to everything. The feeling you get when you come here is not that one of staying in a hotel or rural house, you literally feel like you are a close guest of these lovely people, in the comfort of their home. The treatment, decoration, food, atmosphere, everything. I was treated like a daughter for my entire stay as I was traveling alone and ended up leaving a piece of my heart in this place. Will definitely be returning as it is the most beautiful, healing, cozy, unique and incredible place in a stunning location.
This place is absolutely perfect in my opinion.

I have rarely experienced such a high level of hospitality, with a full breakfast served every morning, clean rooms, a fire made in the evening and every need attended to. It is close to the beautiful Eume river valley and the view from the casa is incredible.

The best part of our stay at Casa Pineiro was the incredible view across the gardens and out into the national park. The house itself is also very charming with some beautiful old features.
Although on Booking.com it clearly says there is a shared kitchen, the host was not happy about us using it to cook a simple dinner for ourselves. When we used it the second time, we were told that we would not be allowed to use it again. The host used 'covid' as the reason but this did not make sense when the kitchen was used as a shared space for breakfast in the mornings. We were very disappointed by this because being in the middle of the national park meant that we had to drive quite far every evening to get dinner, and as someone with a gluten and dairy intolerance, it's important to have space to make my own food occasionally.
I also need to note that although Booking.com says the host speaks English, this is not the case. I would not normally complain about this as we were the ones travelling in their country, but what we really struggled with was the fact that the hosts made zero effort to try to communicate with us. They spoke to us in rapid Spanish, even when it was clear we didn't understand. As experienced hosts, I would expect them to at least try to communicate - Google Translate is a free tool, and charades is always worth a shot! We tried our best with both those but felt that it was never reciprocated.
Overall, it is a beautiful guesthouse and perhaps it would suit other travellers but it did not work for us. We left 1 night early.

This place feels like visiting your grandparents, but in a good way. The owners are warm and welcoming, and offer you unlimited snacks and drinks - even though we did not speak Spanish and they couldn't speak English or French. The house and room itself is rustic, well-kept, and in a nice forest surrounding. Everything was very clean.
Everything was fine but the location may be difficult to find after sunset so beware!

Superb guesthouse in a great location: an oasis in the middle of a natural park.
Ideal for hiking, biking and day trips to A Coruna.
Best breakfast of our tour in Northern Spain.
Thank you, Flor and Juan for this warm welcome!
We would have missed the place without the owners' driving directions, but is was an experience just getting there!

This bed and breakfast is a wonderful argument for rural tourism. Monfero is off the beaten track and in the middle of interior farm country. Lovely to just walk the quiet roads immediately around Casa Pineiro. And the house is old, beautifully maintained, updated and furnished. The owners are delightful and this place is a true gem!
There is nothing to dislike. The owners have very little English, but of course the problem was that our Spanish was so limited! Still, this didn’t affect the quality of our stay.

From the very first moment we just felt home thanks to the warm welcome from the owners. The room was cozy and lovely, the bathroom had a modern shower. The breakfast was outstanding, with a mix of homemade and local products (we loved in particular the bizcocho made by Flor and the artisan butter!), plus a super nice chat. The surroundings are incredibly beautiful and you can reach some great trails directly from the house. The only advice, as mentioned in other reviews, is to consider bringing some food with you if you arrive in the evening as it could be challenging to drive back at night. Thank you so much for everything!
Everything was great.

The casa rural was quite well renovated and was beautiful throughout. There were many shared spaces, both inside and outside the house. The breakfast was enormous and included fresh made cakes. jams and butter. Flor, Juan and Sonia make incredible hosts and were quite attentive to all our needs.
The only negative that could be said is that the GPS did not give the best directions to arrive and we had to drive on some difficult roads. This could be avoided if you call ahead and Flor will provide easy to follow directions to make your arrival easier.

Everything. The owners Flor and Juan are amazing. From the first minute of arrival till departure they really pamper you with everything, incl Flor’s various famous cakes.
The Casa has a lovely outdoor garden area.
Nothing. The only thing is that the casa is some 5 km up in the forest via some narrow roads.

Flor, the kind woman who runs this place, is a sweetheart. I had arrived late and without dinner and she made me eggs for no charge. The building and grounds are beautiful! I have never ben somewhere quite like this. Everything smelled amazing in my room! The open beams in the ceiling, the interesting window near the ceiling in my room and the decor all added to the charm and ambience of this amazing place. If you are looking for peace and quiet with a welcoming host, this is the place!
It was challenging for me as a English speaker to not be able to readily converse with Flor as she only speaks Spanish.

This is an amazing place to stay, in a beautiful location and lovely rooms. The highlight however is the hosts, they cannot do enough to make you feel welcome. Despite us not speaking Spanish and they spoke little English they still managed to make us feel part of their family. They even found another guest who could translate for us.
Fron's homemade cake and marmalade is amazing and we were even given some to take on our journey.
I would love to go back again when we have time to explore the area.
We stay in a lot of different places while travelling on our motorbike and this one is the best.

We loved this place! All the staff make you feel super welcome and are very keen to make sure you have a great time - everything from providing lots of cake to lots of information about walking and things to do in the area. Room was very clean and comfortable. A great place to stay having spent the day enjoying nature and being in the middle of nowhere. We wished we’d stayed longer!
