The place is lovely but I found it disjointed. Staff are great. Place is clean.
Would of like a heads up that supper was a set menu as well.

Staff were all so friendly and efficient, rooms were great and the food was excellent.
Nothing at all

My recent visit to Budmarsh left me enchanted by the natural beauty that surrounds the main house and its adjacent sitting area. The landscape, with its natural charm, provided a serene and picturesque backdrop that added a touch of tranquility to the entire experience.
The staff were not only professional but also exceptionally polite. Their warm welcome, coupled with delightful canapes, set a positive tone for the visit. The attention to hospitality was evident, making me feel genuinely valued as a guest.
One standout feature was the peaceful ambiance. The quiet surroundings were a solid bonus, creating an atmosphere of relaxation and escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It allowed for a truly immersive experience, where I could appreciate the natural beauty and enjoy the moment undisturbed.
In conclusion, my time was a delightful retreat, enhanced by the stunning natural landscape, the courteous staff, and the serene quietude. If you're seeking a peaceful getaway with a touch of elegance,
Let's start with breakfast. I opted for the Eggs Benedict, and while the flavor was satisfactory, I encountered some challenges with the homemade bread. It proved to be quite difficult to cut with the provided knives, and tearing it off seemed to be a more practical approach.
Moreover, if you're considering ordering anything off-menu, be prepared for a considerable wait. I personally waited a full hour for a single pancake with cream. This extended wait time significantly impacted my overall dining experience.
On a concerning note, the quality of the food during my four-course meal on Friday had me feeling unwell the following Saturday morning. This raised some concerns about the food preparation and hygiene standards at the establishment.
In terms of beverage options, I found the wine selection to be extremely limited. Given the five-star rating boasted by the facility, I expected a more diverse and high-quality wine list.
Speaking of the facility's rating, I must say that the overall ambiance does not quite align with the five-star status. While the main building is acceptable, the rest of the grounds appear overgrown and notably aged. The trails for solo exploration lack clear markings, making it challenging for visitors to navigate.
Furthermore, the spa facilities are not adequately displayed, leaving guests to explore on their own. Additionally, the lack of Wi-Fi in the rooms and intermittent signal loss on devices is an inconvenience that detracts from the overall experience.
In conclusion, while Budmarsh has its merits, there are areas that require improvement to truly live up to its purported five-star status. The issues with food quality, wait times, limited wine selection, and overall facility upkeep suggest that a more realistic rating might be closer to two stars, if we're being generous.

The breakfast and dinner were very good. We enjoyed our stay. The location is beautiful, and the gardens are well kept. The staff was very helpful and welcoming from the moment we got to the parking until we left.
I had asked for a Balcony room prior to the visit which was confirmed to be received. The room we were given did not have a balcony and we asked to be moved to one with a balcony, the room we were moved to did not have a working air conditioner nor a working TV.
There was no service by the pool area, we had to go looking for someone to assist with towels and going to the bar for drinks.
For dinner/breakfast, it seemed that there were not enough waiters to serve the number of guests there, however the waiters were doing their best. We had to wait some minutes to get assistance after seating on the tables.

The place is quiet and peaceful. Room was spacious.
For a five star establishment, I would have expected more knowledge on vegan cuisine. While the chefs did provide a vegan dinner, the breakfast was sub-par as I couldn't eat most things. They didn't even have basics like beans. The place is very remote so even Uber Eats did not work there so we were unable to get food that we preferred from outside.
Also, there were not many of the luxuries available that one would expect with a five star establishment. For example, there was only one bathrobe, no slippers, etc.
There were many flies and mosquitoes. The management should consider equipping the rooms with mosquito repellent plugs and sprays.

The rooms are vey clean and very comfortable. There was a fireplace in the room I stayed in, which was perfect for the weather. There is a bar fridge, kettle, and coffee utensils. The meals were fantastic, you can have breakfast in your room. The service was extremely professional and friendly, and just world class. The common areas are really lovely. As a lone guest, I was really made to feel at home by the staff. I can't wait to go back
Nothing at all. There were some network issues in my room, with the WiFi being touch and go. But it's not a train smash as the common facilities were well connected.

The property is in a secluded area, which is what we loved. We were pleased that they were able to moved us from Room 6 to Room 8, a more spacious and better room., with fireplace, which we had requested. We loved the scrumptious food especially the 4 course dinner. It was so good, we had to meet the chef to complement him ourselves. The staff treated us exceptionally well, especially Pogi and the guy from Malawi (I forget his name). They were kind, helpful and showed excellent customer service.
The WiFi did not work, which affected connectivity. The intention was to avoid too much use of cellphone and other devices, but we did need to minimum connectivity with others for emergencies and for security back home as we were not there.

The food is magnificent. The chefs take an absolute pride in flavour and presentation.
The place is serene. Excellent choice for a break away from the bustling cities. Excellent location.
The road heading in is slightly problematic, especially without an off road vehicle.

We were only there for one night and we regretted being there for such a short stay. We loved the location, it is located at a very nice isolated area. The place offers tranquility at its best, which is what we needed. The staff is well trained and very friendly. They are always ready to offer help or assist. The room was very clean and specious and so was the bathroom. You will never fill cold even though its winter or during load-shading. There was gas fire in the room, air conditioner and electric blanket. I really appreciated the quality cleanliness of the linen. Their food is gourmet and is only prepare on request. I really recommend it to anyone who appreciate quality and value for money.

60 mins from Johannesburg and easy to drive to. Staff attentiveness are exceptional. Dinner done by two female chefs and are extraordinarily talented. 4 course menu and no skimping on quality.
