Great place to stay

Location was fantastic 2 minutes to the beach 5 mins to the centre. Claire & Steve were great hosts very friendly welcoming.The property is beautifully decorated to a very high standard, we found parking very easy. There is no breakfast but we knew that when booking and isn't a problem.

Highly Recommend this Hotel. 10/10 All round.

What more can i say about this beutiful little hotel. The location was good, the Staff...the women who runs this was warm, friendly & very welcoming. The Room that i had was great. That 4 poster bed in my room....WOW. Best bed i have ever slept in. I really cannot praise this Hotel enough. 10/10 for just being a great place to stay. I highyl recommend this amazing hotel to anyone.

Weekend away.

Steve and Claire are great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. Really enjoyed our stay, our room was spotless and clean. Breakfast was excellent 5 stars all round. Loved meeting Ralph their 8 month old bulldog as well. Looking forward to our next stay in September.

Could have been better...

The hotel location is perfect, being in the center of Scarborough, great for exploring the beach and shops on foot. Owners are very friendly and cooks amazing English breakfast each morning.

Parking is a bit difficult as you need to park at the back of the hotel, on the streets (sometimes quite hard to find a space). The room we got unfortunately is the smallest room in the hotel, very crowded for two people for 4 nights. This is probably booking.com's fault as it said it was the last room available, but in fact there were some other bigger rooms available. The bed is very small for 2 people (a small double?) and too soft, my wife got bad back pain after 4 days. Also the sink is installed too low (kids height) and also made back pain worse.

Disappointing room - nothing like what the website portrays

The location was perfect for the town centre, pubs and casino. Steve and Claire were really friendly and breakfast was very nice.

Unfortunately we were allocated the small double room which was nothing like any of the other photographs on the website. It was really disappointing. Very, very cramped. No wardrobe, one plug socket to serve the television, kettle and mini fridge. The TV was on a wall that made it difficult to watch whilst lying on the bed. There was very little room between the end of the bed and the wall and we had to squeeze through to reach the very small bathroom - which again was nothing like those shown on the website. It was extremely dated and was so small that the sink was outside in the actual bedroom! The toilet made a terrible noise every time it was flushed. Hand towels were not even provided for the sink, just two bath towels. We felt it was a lot of money for what we actually got. Also, we were led to believe parking was round the back when in fact we had to drive 4 streets up to find somewhere to park. Just really disappointed with the room as this was one of the many surprises I'd planned for my hubby's 60th birthday celebrations and it just did not live up to expectations.

Fantastic Guest House

Steve and Claire are lovely hosts and very tentative to their guests. Great location Steve recommended 2 local restaurants to us and they were fantastic. Definitely be visiting again.

Could do with full length mirror in the bedroom.

Excellent friendly owners who make their guests welcome and we are planning a further visit later in the year.

It is a well situated Georgian townhouse,with very friendly welcoming owners ,the rooms are extremely comfortable and modern with a hint of their past (ie)fireplaces cupboards etc. The breakfast is plentiful and nicely cooked and presented.

There is no shelf in the bathroom for toiletries etc,there is nothing else to complain about.

Stylish stay close to the Beach .

We hadn't stayed in a guest house for years and our memories of them were a little jaded. We was pleasantly surprised by how stylsih and clean the Barrington Guest House was. Steve & Claire were wonderful hosts ,really welcoming and full of usefull local information , breakfast was delicious and of a high quality. We would !00% recomend !

Will visit and stay here again when we can.

A comfortable B&B in an excellent location with very easy access to the beach. The breakfast was spot on with good quality fresh food. The bed and bedding is high quality and very comfortable. We had no problem at all parking as we managed to park directly outside.

The B&B isnt suitable for people with walking disabilities due to the steps etc. Parking during high season might be difficult due to the amount of visitors.

Pleasant stay in a beautiful guest house!

Just about everything was spot on! The room decor was done very well and the ensuite was very impressive! Breakfast was lovely and just right! Steve & Claire are great informal hosts!

The only thing we wasn't to keen on was our rooms location in the attic of the building! A couple of twisty stair cases didn't help our aging limbs nor balance with luggage! Once in the room, the head room in parts was awkward and heads where frequently bumped! A large bed post split the veiw of the TV when on!
