There is so much to say that is positive about this place! We had already spent a few days in the middle of everything in Puerto Vallarta. We also had just returned from eclipse-viewing in Mazatlan. Some of the beds weren’t so comfortable. Then my significant other and I arrived at the Villa Bella! It was very peaceful and picturesque. I got the best sleep of my vacation there. The bed was very comfortable and the decor was amazing.
We just sat by the viewing pool chatting away hours at a time. The cool breeze and lovely view of the ocean, mountains, and towns were just lovely. Breakfast was delicious. We had pancakes one day and eggs with chorizo and other tasty food the other.
There is Kleenex which was wonderful as nowhere else we’d been on this trip had any. The water pressure is good and the hot water did not take long to come on. We had a nice balcony to enjoy outside but we mainly stuck to the pool area, even at night. They keep the lights on until 10 pm.
There is a taxi number available on the fridge and food pamphlets for places you may want to order food from. We went to Bucerías which was a 15 minute ride from where we were. There was a place called Mariscos del Gordo close to the center. We saw the sunset there and it was beautiful. We sat right on the beach and watched the pelicans dive for food.
All the other guests at the Villa Bella were lovely. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
The two small issues are that the key for the room was a little finicky. It required some jiggling and jangling but nothing major. The second note is that there is a rather big step up to access the bathroom. We left the bathroom light on to make sure we didn’t forget it at night.

Manuel and Rosa were wonderful hosts!
Dogs barking and rooster...but that is just the area...nothing our hosts could do about that.

Small place vs. big resort? If you are not a big drinker, then, like me, you will tire of paying hard-earned bucks at an all inclusive to subsidize the boozing of others.....much prefer to stay at a small boutique inn like Villa Bella. If/when I want a bevvy, I just go to one of the many cantinas in the town below. To each their own but a small, family-run place like this has a lot going for it.
Also, desayunos = fresh orange juice, fresh corn tortillas with your rancheros, while seated sunny poolside, overlooking the Bahia de Banderas (in February!!!)....just can't get enough.
One minor suggestion: kitchen should make the switch to Mexican mantequilla.....so much tastier than margarine.

The privacy of each suite, the pool and gardens. The breakfast was very good but our lack of Mexican language limited us to ask for more variety. It felt secure. The decoration of the suite was very nice.
The noise from the road and the roosters starting at 130am on some days!

In our case, the toilet was smelly, might be a drenage trap problem

the property was a hillside overlooking the town of La Cruz and the ocean. the views were spectacular. the infinity pool was wonderful. property itself is a little dated but very unique.
The main thing was the steep walk up the hill to get to the villa, we were aware of the climb up and wore good walking shoes, which are a must. The breakfast was not as expected, very routine and nothing special.
