Le bungalow au milieu de la verdure et au calme . Le personnel extrêmement sympathique, attentionné. Les repas très bons . La propreté.

The hotel is filled with nature and is wonderfully relaxing. The food in the restaurant is good. The location outside of town means that it is quiet. We stayed in the dorm and it was nice as dorms go. Loved the composting toilet. The staff were helpful.
It is a little far outside of town, so if you're looking for something conveniently located probably look elsewhere.

Kind people on the reception and the surroundings are super nice
You have to take into account that it’s quite far from the center although it’s possible to go by walk even at night it’s ok. The toilet 🚽 is an eco option an maybe is not for everyone (sawdust toilet) even for us was a surprise because we don’t expect it

Blended in with the beautiful outdoors. Loved the sauna option, and the eco-friendly baño. They helped me get a local tour guide, and a ride to my next destination
Nothing to dislike

I loved the eco whole situation. Very well maintained but the beds and pillows could have been better. Also some mosquito nets needed repair and didn't fit around bed. The temzcal was truly magical and the massage and the puposas were so good. Even tho location is a little far from town. I loved how remote it felt.
Dogs barking all night long.

The location is beautiful. The room was comfortable, pretty and the view was amazing. The bathrooms and shower were clean and very functional. One of the best showers we had in Guatemala! The food at the restaurant is excellent and not too expensive for the portion you get. Also, the addition of a mosquito net was appreciated.
There wasn’t much we didn’t appreciate. It’s a little bit outside of town (10 ish minutes walk), but understandable considering the surroundings you are in.

Beautiful property located well out of the centre of San Juan in nature. Very relaxed and quiet. Large spacious room.
One shower was low pressure, the other leaked.

Great Hostel. Free water is available. I liked the restaurant food, it was very delicious. Nice atmosphere in the garden, lots of tables and chairs to relax. Cats and dogs on the property.

Friendly staff and great location in a quieter part of San Juan. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the common areas and shared bathrooms were spotless.

Roosters and dogs barking

Loved the guests - relaxed, chilled - no partying!
Loved the staff - Milton! What a gem!
Very clean facilities and room
Quiet at night - except the usual roosters and dogs!
Great - huge - breakfasts
The lunch / dinners definitely could have been better. I feel the menu was too varied for the staff to keep up in their small kitchen. Maybe a family dinner would work better. Food was too salty and just not that great.

Beautiful rustic location and facilities. I really liked the composting toilets! They smelled better than most bathrooms I’ve been in. The restaurant was great, and the staff was lovely.

Quiet location, great staff and facilities.
The aggressive dogs. They are everywhere all over San Juan. Not specifically to this hostel, but the location being a little outside I didn’t like passing them in early morning and nights.

The ecolodge Mayachik was perfect. Really pretty place, surounded by nature and quite quiet. The room was clean and the blankets kept us really warm (we travelled in January). Also the bathroom were close to our room, almost private and clean.
A big plus was their restaurant that serves good food for a really affordable price ! You'll find plenty of vegetales ;).
They really care about ecology.

Eco hostel, so eco toilets (which worked fine) and solar powered showers.
Friendly personnel, restaurant was very simple but ok.
The whole place seems a bit worn down and the rooms are extremely simple. The garden could look a lot better. A lot of barking dogs at night, we barely slept the last night. Kitchen supplies are old and crappy. We were extremely bothered from the smoke coming out of the sauna, our cabin being next to it and the walls/windows having gaping holes. Together with the distance from the center (the tuctucs won't even bring you up the last bit), it's not worth it.

we loved everything about it, there is yoga, vegetarian food, temazcal or typical hot stone sauna, compostable toilets, they offer great local tour guides, runners by locals and highlights the Mayan culture. A real Gem

Super breakfast, very nice staff and so great activities from the hotel.
Good location and eco-friendly.
Need more care on cleaning and equipment to get at least hot shower.

It was our first time in an eco-hotel so we did not really know what to expect but we liked it.
Very nice staff, excellent dinner and breakfast.Eventhough we are not vegetarians at all,the food was really great for us too.
Very good,relaxing atmosphere,beautiful garden.
Sauna experience was great, they were really very flexible with the scheduling (we did not have a booking for that in advance).
We loved the stuff, very nice, friendly and polite people! The guy at the reception speaks perfect English.
Also loved the cute cats and the friendly dogs!🙂
The mosquito net beyond the bed should be bigger. If you use it (and you have to) you loose lots of sleeping place on the bed so therefore the bed was unconfortable,I hardly could sleep.

Lovely hotel with nice rooms in lovely gardens. Rooms were rustic but good for the price and outside bathroom and shower were spotlessly clean and not an issue at all for me (a few steps from the bedroom). Restaurant was nice and staff were friendly and helpful. Organised a hike to Indians nose for sunrise which was great and would recommend.
I’m lovely place to stay but a little walk from the town and very quiet while I was there. Not much of an atmosphere, but great if you want a peaceful nights sleep in lovely green setting.

Food was great. So nice to get fresh vegetables!! Fun to have a clean composting toilet. Bed was comfy and warm. The staff (Milton) was super friendly.
There were a lot of dogs barking. That’s not something the hotel can necessarily control. There were dogs in the property and they were super sweet.

Remote eco friendly hostel in amazing location in the forest, so peaceful and tranquil. Huge dorm room, lovely outside terrace with garden views. Simple separate kitchen. But really great surroundings/garden. They had a sauna/temazcal - maybe a tad bit expensive. But great experience!
They had eco natural toilets (nothing to complain about those), just that they were a bit far away from the dorms

The location is good, easy to take tuk tuk to the center. Staff was helpful in arranging shuttles, etc. The food at the restaurant was very tasty. Some of the staff were helpful and kind.
I discovered bed bugs in both of the beds in my bungalow. I had to change my room to a room with shared bathrooms (I had wanted private) and it was a pain as I had already unpacked. After accepting the shared bathroom situation, I learn the next morning that they want to move me back to the original room. They said they had changed the mattresses but I did not feel comfortable. So they moved me to a different bungalow (second move) where I discovered dead spiders, ants, and hair on the beds. Finally, my friends offered that I sleep in their bungalow, which I decided to do. However, upon getting into the supposedly clean bed in their room (unused by them), I discover crumbs (like from cookies or crackers) and white bodily residue on the bed sheets. [A few photos from the three “clean” beds I was offered are included in this review.] It appears as though they do not clean the bedding. Additionally, I asked them to wash the clothing (maybe 5 pieces of clothing and a purse) that had been on the bed with bed bugs before I discovered them. They insisted on charging me for drying them (even though I would not have needed to dry them had they not been on a bed with bedbugs). AND… they didn’t even fold the clothes!!! When I went to open the bag, all of my clothes were crumpled up. This was truly one of the worst accommodations while traveling that I’ve ever heard. This place is not clean, and they don’t care to try and make things right. They did refund me for the night I didn’t stay, and they reduced the cost of the first night since I moved to a smaller room with shared bathrooms. However, they gave me that money in quetzales on my last day in the country, I had to get creative to spend the money, when really I just wanted it back in my bank account. You’d think they’d have washed the small amount of clothes for free. And at the very least comped me a breakfast for my troubles. Really negative experience.

Please change that ‚cold-white‘ light bulbs - there are already ‚warm-white‘ LED available!
(the light kills some atmosphere of this nice Place)

Staff was amazing and helpful. Food is made from scratch, giving you a truely fresh meal. Resort grounds are rustic and cabin like. Bungalows are big and comfy. Sauna was amazingly hot and a good start to our day.
Beds and linens didn't seem very fresh and clean. As an eco friendly hotel, bathroom is similiar to an outhouse with no no real flush.

Cute private bungalow. Sauna was great. Staff were wonderful.
Everything does close early but there was a lot of sound waking you up (people working, talking, fireworks from town).

Extremely mellow vibe, quiet location, but still not far from the sights.
Kind of a pity to come to Atitlán and not be closer to the lake.

the sauna and that it was not in the center of down but still easily accessible, the staff was super friendly and helpful.

I liked the beautiful scenary with the Mayan nose, The little Cabin, the shared bathroom and kitchen cleaness, the great kithen vegeterian food, the staff was lovely from Guatemala.
The noise the other people made that night.
