The room is very clean and the lodge is just right in front the lake. The room is very near to shower and toilet. They provided everything you need for cooking.
The kitchen is a bit small so it will be very crowded during dinner time and don't have enough space for everyone to enjoy the dinner

Family rooms are well equipped
Family room was definitely on the smaller side and felt cramped with three people

heated, got the whole cabin to myself, clean bathroom facilities

4 guests in two bunk beds in such a small room for such an expensive rate, shame.

Room was small but overall facilities were modern and clean. Kitchen and lounge area is spacious. There are pros and cons to the location. It is a 15-minute walk from town centre and there are no shops around. Might be inconvenient if you don't have a car. However, it is quiet and the view of Lake Tekapo from the bedroom and lounge is stunning.
The curtain for the bed was too transparent. This could be improved for privacy. There was no reading light or power outlet in the bed. Power outlets were provided at one corner of the room which makes it a little inconvenient.

Location was Stunning and the facilities were great. It was actually really nice being here during the Off season because it felt like a private lodge at times.
Not the hostels fault, but on my second night, a huge group of high school kids showed up on a school trip and more or less filled the place. It wasn't a problem until that night where they were running around the corridors chapping on doors and shouting. This was at about 12am. They knocked on my door a few times. It's one of those buildings where you hear every movement. Super annoying. Mentioned it to a couple staff members in the morning. I'd recommend not letting that bunch stay again and if you do, have someone onsite to police it cause their teachers or whoever certainly didn't. Again, not the hostels fault.

The location was perfect for our needs, right near the pools and on the front by the lake, as well as by the start of the Mt John walkway. My partner and I arrived on motorbikes and the staff were very kind in letting us keep our gear behind reception after we checked out so we could go to the pools without having to lug all our gear around with us.
The lodge itself seems to have hollow floors so when someone walks past your room, you can hear the thump thump of footsteps. Also, the door to outside was by our room and it wasn't a quiet door so that disturbed us throughout the night. But, we did expect this from a lodge/hostel and it was fine for one night.
The heater also turned itself off in the middle of the night so we did get a bit chilly.

the light will off automatically, if u take the shower for a long time.

the location is awesome, comfy bed and pillows with good bedding to keep warm. The heater was on when we checked in and helped to keep the room warm during our stay.
would of been good to see a small fold out table and bedside tables in the room, was struggling to find surfaces to put things on.

The cabins were nice and warm, noise levels were good, and the location was perfect
The 4am walk outside to the bathrooms 🤣 but they were nice and close. A small fridge in the room would be nice

Friendly staff / Location
Kiwi Experience Bus was there
People came in late and were noisy
Hadn't realised that we booked into a Backpackers (my bad)
Fairly basic room
Felt like Fort Knox - can't get in anywhere without using the key.

Superb location

Quite large room, comfy beds. Good heater. Good location right on the lake.
Extremely loud - if you like listening to what sounds like a herd of elephants waking around this is a great place. You can hear every footstep. There are only four toilets in the female bathrooms and no where near enough space. Kitchen was disgusting, and there was no room in the fridge. Our room was at the front of the building so we were woken up every time someone left.

Rooms are warm while outside is very cool. Well maintained.

A small hut with a comfortable enough bed. Had a heater in the room as well.
Love the share BBQ facility.
The room was a little stuffy.

It's very near to the lake.
Transportation (shuttle) provided which was a best idea!
Wi-Fi is very poor. Also, one extension is not convenient especially when there's ppl's backpacks/luggage's around there. Suggest to get each bed it's own socket.

Excellent little self contained cabin with all we needed
Nothing it was all good

Modern and clean little bungalows. They upgraded us to a room with a private bathroom when we arrived.
Nothing, it was excellent!

Lovely location
Heater had been left on in room, so first night it was rather uncomfortable as we couldn't cool the room
