Nice house but don't expect your deposit back promptly or in full

The house is in a good location and the downstairs lounge is a great space to relax in. The kitchen is well equipped. Whilst the bedrooms upstairs are bit small for the number of beds in them, the pictures give a fair reflection of the property.

The bunk beds are metal (rather than wood) and so squeak loudly when you turn over in bed. Whilst I was satisfied with the property itself, I am very dissatisfied with my overall experience due to the following. The costs included a 165euro charge for cleaning, which seemed excessive, particularly given that we had to make our own beds when we arrived, strip the beds at the end of our stay, empty all the bins and take away all rubbish. Had we used the dishwasher (which we didn't) we would have had to remove and clean the filter otherwise we would have lost all of our deposit. There were various other things that we were required to do before we left which we duly did. When we left the house was cleaner than when we arrived. Despite doing all of the above, 6 weeks after the stay I'm still struggling to get all of my deposit back that I'm due. 2 weeks after my stay, my deposit hadn't been returned so I sent messages requesting the return of my deposit. A few days later, when the bank transfer to return the deposit arrived, an unexplained deduction had been applied. Note: you will be charged 6.5euro for each set of towels used (we were aware of this in advance). After two further chases and a few more days waiting, I was sent an explanation that listed a string of reasons why my deposit hadn't been returned in full. I do not agree with any of the reasons given for the deduction from my deposit. The owners have failed to provide any evidence to support their claims and are now ignoring my messages. Sadly Booking.com have failed to do anything useful to resolve this issue.
