Professional welcoming staff, good parking, Wifi good, breakfast good, beautiful surroundings.
Room had only a window in the roof, no direct outside view. We felt a bit stocked away. No international TV channels BBC, CNN etcetera. Room was clean on sight but with dust under the bed and stains on the head board of the bed.

The staff is extremely friendly, we felt very welcome. Communication about everything was fast and easy. The decor of the house is very pleasant, a mix of traditional and modern. They serve tasty, original breakfasts.
The biggest problem is the (non-existent) soundproofing, you really can hear anything going on in the house. We were woken in the middle of the night by *** adventures of our neighbours. There were also some details that were not that well thought like a not very functional lighting system in the room but it was not that big of an issue.

the staff and location

I absolutely loved the place, though I misunderstood the concept at the very beginning: I was thinking the hotel is with a restaurant and a sort of a farm stay, but the restaurant there wasn't working. This rural house is located in a very (like - VERY) small village of 300 regular inhabitants. It is surrounded by amazing forests and hills and the three days that I spent there under the rain (yes, "sunny Spain" could be very different) were like a retreat (which I definitely needed). It was a perfect concept for me, but may not be same perfect for anyone else.
If you're traveling with a car, the hotel is very conveniently located many beautiful hiking routes of all difficulties. You can go to the mountains from there, or spend a day on the beach.
Three restaurants in the village are amazing dining experience (even one taverna is at least a great view and a very inexpensive lunching), so it wasn't a problem that the site didn't have a restaurant itself.
The place is easily reachable with car, but if you're traveling without it, like me, it's a bit of a challenge to get there. Still, a taxi reserved by the hotel picked me up in Durango, which is quite a big transport knot in Basque country.

Hotel was in a perfect location, the receptionist was super helpful and cheerful. Breakfast was great value for money.
The location of the hotel was not too easy to find in the village. Our room was very small, as we booked quite late and it was the only one available. There are bigger rooms which we would request if we return. Think our room was called ‘Bat’

I liked very much! We arrived at the end of the day and were lucky to see the sunset! Quiet and charming hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and I can say that the staff made the difference. Thank you

comfortable room with a spectacular view, comfortable bed , nice breakfast. Best part of this rural hotel are the hosts!
nothing is too much trouble for the two ladies that cared for us. organised a taxi to our restaurant, I left something in the taxi,,, one phone call and the taxi was back in 5 mins.
if you are staying around Durango, stay here!
this is not a 5star hotel but there is nothing that I can complain about

Beautifully renovated, very comfortable and an excellent breakfast. Gorgeous location in an historic town surrounded by mountains and beautful countryside. Local restaurant was fabulous to boot!
Such a shame it was raining when we visited.

Our room was lovely, great views, good shower, reception very welcoming, breakfast good and definitely good value. The village is lovely. Located above Durango. The hotel is next to a pretty church with nice walks. Good location for visiting Bilbao and San Sebastián and elsewhere. Village has a good restaurant- a bar restaurant and perhaps another to find another time.
Not a lot not to like. We couldn’t find it easily even with sat nav and google maps. It is just on the right as you come up from junction 84. look for the top of a church on the right and a sloping walkway. Park at the bottom (you will see parking for the church I guess) walk up the zig zag slope and there it is. No signage until you get to the front door. If you don’t like church bells it’s not the place for you but they do not ring all night.

Rural cosy hotel.
Mix of old and modern architecture. Staff very friendly and available to help (Irune and Anne).
Big rooms when comparing with other hotels.
I'll return for sure in "family mode".
Parking outside property. This was the only negative point.
