This is my second stay at Don Santiago‘s. The location is perfect, so close to the downtown as well as the big market, which has excellent outside restaurants at incredible prices. The manager, Hugo lives on the property and is available if there are any issues which will be taken care of immediately. There’s a wonderful kitchen that is well stocked with all the equipment you will need and basic spices and available for you to make yourself coffee in the morning as well as anything else. (full-size refrigerator freezer for you to store food that you purchase at the market or stores for cooking.)

The host Hugo and his team Javier and Nellie were exceptional. Best host I’ve encountered so far on my bookings. Very informative and helpful. Property is 1 block away from banks, restaurants and bars, the fresh market, and grocery stores. Best location in San Ignacio.

The guesthouse is in a great location.
The beds were a little uncomfortable. They only accept cash for the stay and did not let you know in advance.

Super friendly staff and a great value for our money. The AC worked very well, and the shower had hot water and good pressure. They provided free, filtered water for those staying at the property. Definitely recommend!
The only thing to note is that one of the beds was a little squeaky. We're definitely not complaining about that, though. All in all, this room was a great value, and we were comfortable. Just an FYI if you have a bad back.

The staffs were really kind, they even allowed us to check-in early since we arrived earlier than anticipated. The rooms was nice and comfy and very spacious. They have a communal kitchen which was fabulous. The location was close to everything and only walking distance to the local bus station.
The internet lagged a bit in our room but the host and staff did help to get it fixed (wasn't as strong but still good😁)...not really their fault...technology😅

The boss, Hugo, was very helpful. Let me leave my bag so I could go on an all day tour and pick it up afterward. Central location is very close to tour operators for early AM departures.
Friday night, extended late night noise from bar goers on the street around 3AM.

My room had a private bathroom, A/C, good bed and even a full length wall mirror. The guesthouse had a huge kitchen with tea and other amenities and a large living room that wasn’t used much. The manager was friendly and helpful. The location is excellent.
The guest house is basic without a lot of atmosphere so not a place to hang out in.

Good location, central, but not nearby bars etc., so rather quiet.
Spacious rooms, comfortable beds... Also, well equipped kitchen, even a washing machine was available.
Last but not least, Hugo, the manager is super friendly, gives valuable info, even offered drive to border!
MANY THANKS!

We liked making our own tea and coffee and we loved the swing seat on the balcony. Good Location, try Spot Cafe, noisy speaker on street but is off but lovely garden with chilled music at rear and food good.

Nice big room, convenient location, friendly host who let us do our laundry, filtered water available. Also loved the swing chair on the balcony 😄
Kitchen could do with some more cutlery and stovetop for easier cooking.

Great property, great location and Hugo the manager was super nice. He allowed us to do laundry and also offered us lifts to the border and to Xunantunich. The kitchen was great and we really enjoyed the swing chair outside the door upstairs.

The manager, Hugo, was VERY efficient and capable, attentive to guests' needs. The water supply for drinking and bathing was good. The kitchen was supplied with everything necessary for meal prep. Laundry was available with detergent provided. A/C, WIFI, and TV were good. The location is excellent, within walking distance to the French Bakery, the market, shops, (awesome gift shop almost next door), Mayan chocolate shop, restaurants, and a really good ice cream shop. There is a nice porch swing, too. The gate to the property is accessed with a key so one feels secure, which is appreciated.
Our room was for 3, and the third bed was a top bunk. Not every group could handle that, but only 2 of us came so we did ok. There are a couple sets of stairs to get up into the rooms. There are railings but that could be a challenge depending on a guests agility. Hugo was helpful and carried luggage up and down.
