Prachtige licatie met fantastisch uitzicht

Locatie en het uitzicht

Zeer karig ingerichte keuken, gebrek aan ramen die open konden. Ook het ontbreken van een airco is een gemis, de aanwezige verilatoren waren zeer luidruchtig.

Lovely studio with great views

Incredible views and big windows. Huge comfy bed and warm shower. It was kept very clean. The staff were very helpful when we arrived and gave us lots of information on tours. It was very close drive into town and also walkable.

It was very windy while we were there and the doors and windows rattled a lot during the night. It would be useful to have some storage in the room as it was hard to keep tidy with no cupboards, which when you are using it as your kitchen and bedroom is not ideal. The kitchen could do with having some chopping boards.

Superb

The staff were extremely helpful and booked all our excursions and shuttles. The views are incredible, could sit for hours in the hanging chairs looking out the window. The rooms were really big, clean and the shower was super hot.

Some of the lightbulbs in the bedroom didn't work.

Beautiful views and nice staff!

We really liked the location, the arrangements of tours and activities, the view. The Rainbow Valley lodge made promise on its name, as we saw a rainbow in the valley multiple times!

There was no real heat or airconditioning system. There were a lot of blankets though. There is a lot of wind, we knew this beforehand so it wasn’t a dealbreaker.

Great views and front desk, gross room.

Gorgeous views. The front desk staff was very helpful.

There were bugs and lizards in the room. The sheets were ripped and had stains. It was very pricey for what we got. We paid about $107 per night and I think it was maybe worth $60 per night. There were much nicer places for the same $100 per night. The screen had holes in it. Not all the screens and all the windows locked. Someone could have easily just opened the windows and came in. The bottom of the door was about half an inch off the floor making it easy for more bugs to come in. They were coming out of the ceiling. The coffee maker didn’t work, and the outlet by the bed did not work. The owner sent us a message before coming stating there may be bugs and that it is not a 5 star hotel. That is fine with me. What I didn’t appreciate was the dirty ripped sheets, the ability to get into our room through the windows, and the outlet next to the bed not working.

Pleasant

Quiet and large apartment- we slept great! Nice views. Good value. Location was fairly convenient to the main town, although not walkable to attractions; okay for car renters but not ideal for those who arrive via bus. If we came again we would stay in quieter, lovelier Monteverde village.

Views were nice but not as idyllic as the pictures- definitely there were other buildings in view. The apartment was also not as lovely as the pictures made it seem- it was cheaply made and felt like it was held together by tape. For example, a towel rack became detached from the wall from normal use.

The view from the room was spectacular and an amazing service as well! The kitchenette had everything you could possibly need.

Might be a bit far from the center of the city if you don’t have a vehicle

Beautiful accommodation and wonderful views with very helpful staff

Wow!! The views...we had 2 cabins, numbers 4 and 9. 9 has spectacular views and several reviews recommended this cabin as a favorite....it's spectacular. Number 4 is on the other side of the property, smaller and the view is not as spectacular but it was still wonderful. The front desk was terrific with making all our arrangements to visit reserves, cloud forest walks and the night tour. All were great!! We loved the guides we used and were happy to have free transportation to the sites so we didn't have to drive. The rooms are nice and well appointed...they don't serve breakfast but with the great views and kitchen areas it was more fun to just pick up some items at the local supermarket and hang out. Very quiet and it was an easy walk into town. We stayed 3 nights and totally enjoyed it!!

No food service at lodging; the hotel is based on a ridge which gives it the most breathtaking views but also incredibly high winds overnight.

OUTSTANDING views - we stayed in #10. staff were friendly. location was great! 10 min walk to stores and restaurants.

Nothing to do with this lodge but the winds were exceptionally loud through the night. Bring ear plugs!!

Location, Location, Location

1. The view our room had was incredible. 2. It was outside of town, but a quick and cheap taxi ride away. 3. The staff was very communicative. They sent a message after the booking was confirmed to tell us what to expect. When we arrived they spent time going over a local map of activities and places. They were very friendly and happy to call you a cab whenever you needed it. 4. They offer laundry services and it was not a bad price (cost is by weight). TIPS: 1. The message they send you after you book provides a lot of information, but if you are like us we read it and figured it would be fine. They mention winds and that they are all night and very loud. I had headphones on when I was sleeping and I woke up to wind gusts throughout the night. They are not exaggerating any of the information in that message. We highly recommend reading it thoroughly and making sure you are okay with all the information provided. We decided the view was worth the winds and other things. 2. All the rooms are different (from what we could tell). There might be some that are similar, but each one is set up in a little bit different way. We had a beautiful sun room with big windows and hanging chairs.

1. The only complaint we have is that the bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have ever laid on. It was so firm that it caused me intense back pain. This discomfort effected our days in Monteverde as we were not as well rested for the things we wanted to do from waking up in pain throughout the night. The property would have a MUCH higher rating from us if the bed had been comfier.

Would definitely recommend! Wonderful place to stay.

From the moment we arrived the staff were incredibly friendly & helpful. They couldn't do enough for us. They helped us arrange the things we wanted to do & recommended places to eat & drink. Nothing was too much to ask and they weren't at all pushy, just happy to help. The room was lovely and spacious with a huge comfy bed. The view was beautiful too.

Amazing!

Seriously! It was the best place that we stay during our travel! The view was amazing and we also got the cance to see the sunrise by the bed! No television needed in the day with that kind of view! It was so perfect to have the swing inside our « house » All is beautiful inside. And the bed was soooo comfy! The little store on the other side of the road is perfect to get juice, bread, egg, pasta… not a grocery store but better than nothing. The night we were here, the wifi got a problem for half of the « little house » unfortunately we didnt get it back before leaving but the employees was fast to help us and call the compagny. We really liked the services!

Exceptional

The view! The room was exactly how the pictures were portrayed, absolutely stunning. (I booked room 10) Axel was super helpful both before and during our stay, answering any questions I had and suggesting and setting up tours and guides as well. There were some pans and other cooking utensils, so we were able to stop at the grocery store and make breakfast in the room during our stay. Very close to the town center and a lot of the tours and activities offered transportation if you're not renting a car. Loved the swing chairs!

Amazing and very unique Monteverde accomodations!

A truly unique accommodation experience with breathtaking mountain views as well as some waterfall and sea views and lots of stars at night. The glass room attached to the cabin was an incredible experience both day and night.

There wasn't really anything that we didn't like about the accommodations. The area is extremely windy and tends to be colder than the lower lying areas of Costa Rica, so be prepared for that with appropriate clothing, but that is not at all a negative, just something to be aware of.

The view from the room is unbeatable. the staff are extremely helpful and knowledgeable about activities in the area. they gave us detailed recommendations for breakfast, dinner, and cloud forest activities, and they are all top notched. it’s like having your own tour guide

we loved staying here with the amazing views and having so much space. clean and comfortable, great value! the small town with restaurants is a very short drive away or cheap taxi ride. glad we stayed here and had the view rather than in town!
