A bird's eyes view to the city. Clean room With balcony. Decent breakfast.
It's a nice place to stay.

Great location with great view. Good bugdet price. Nice hosts. Breakfast with fruits.
You need to understand that this accommodation is a bit far away. At times there will be airplanes crossing very close above the accommodation (more of an issue for double-rooms as shared rooms are located in basement).

I left with a positive experience of staying in a favella.

The house and the room itself were beautiful, and the host family very accommodating. The view was absolutely breathtaking. Good location for exploring Santa Teresa. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful location with a great view, breakfast was ok,
My room was smelly, staff was ok but I think the place is highly overrated, maybe it was great in former times

view was incredible.
it was hard finding the hostel, great for backpackers not for couples, breakfast indeed of improvement.

The view from our room was incredible and having a hammock to view it from was lovely. The shower was powerful and the best one we've had during our three week trip in Brazil so far!
I would say that it could do with some more crockery (bowls, cooking utensils) for the kitchen and there are also a lot of flies in the kitchen area. The only other thing is that the mattress sheet kept coming off as it was too small and this showed how dirty the mattress was unfortunately which was a little off putting!

Gabrielle the owner was very helpfull. The view was great especially at sunrise.

everything is good!!

Probably the biggest perk of this hostel is the amazing view. The staff were super-friendly and helpful.
Some of the areas weren't very clean, but it seemed to me that I was the only guest at the moment so that was ok. Later, more guests started showing up, and the place became cleaner.

The view and the staff there as it like a family. The place has some nice painted walls. The staff there will help you out if you ask for the help, also Gabriel is learning the English which does help sometimes. We had a lovely time there. Also if you do stay here even though there is no evening meals there, the place Resturante ABCD up the pathway does really nice food.

Amazing view that you can't get in other hostels! The staff was extremely cute and helpful and the atmosphere was very nice and relaxed. Good breakfast.
It was a little difficult to get an uber at some point. Walking to the entrance of the favela at night didn't seem like a good option for me either.

Amazing and lovely hosts. They bought me Nescau for breakfast when noticed I don't drink coffee. lovely people to talk to and very safe place with undisturbed view of the Sugar loaf.

Highly recommend this place. Unique and safe way to experience life in a favela. Very chilled vibes and stunning terrace. Excellent, tropical breakfast
If you are looking for nightlife there isn't much nearby: long walks up hills!

Good breakfast, excellent view of the city, good size room, felt safe in the favela, it is more comfortable than in the city, fresher air less pollution
Update the web site, the hotel is more for back packers, being older people, the trek between the street to the hotel with suitcases is kind of an experience and in the neighborhood there is a local where they have events and one night they had loud live music

One of the best views of Rio. Having heard all the stories about Rio, as a white Irish born gringo, at first I did feel a bit tense about walking through the favela alone after sundown with all my luggage. But upon arriving there, a resident of the favela guided me to the hostel and even offered to help carry my luggage. People were very welcoming and so were the owners Néia, and her son Gabriel. Loved the people I met there too. I'd definitely recommend to set your alarm to ~05:00am to witness one the most magical sunrises you'll ever see. Bonus points were the night shop and favela restaurant which were just a short walk away

The place is located in a favela, which is a very authentic experience. It's safe, of course. You have to walk a bit, but the reward will be an amazing view of Rio de Janeiro (You'll love it!). The place is clean, the people who work there are nice and helpful, so I can't complain at all. I would definitely stay again.

Really special experience, freindly people, beautiful views and good breakfast, you see a very different side of Rio staying here rather than just the tourist stuff in Copacabana!
The neighborhood in general is great and people are freindly but I walked around a bit in the day (down the hill from the hostel) and I saw a guy with a very large gun. At the hostel they told me it was totally safe to walk around (which is why I walked there) I think it's quite rare to see this, but just be vigilant when walking about and don't go to the part after the road further down the hill

Gabriel and family made is feel so welcome— they went above and beyond to help us with everything. it felt like family. The views from the terrace and the life in the favela give and authentic experience. we can’t wait to be back. Obrigada
It’s not central and it takes some time to get in and out but it’s all part of the experience. You can be in Santa Teresa by foot otherwise just Uber it.

They have a very good price, you have an amazing view of Rio, the staff is great, you have a lot of options for breakfast. You have to climb some stairs to get to the Pousada, and you can get lost but anyone you ask you get you there, it's a safe place, you meet a lot of people from all over the world.

I Liked everything, if i write will be a big text so lets go. First, the location is amazing, Santa Teresa neighbourhood is gorgeous ; we walked all over the morro since the Centro just appreciating the view which is incredible, and, after you get up to the morro you have to enter into Comunidade Pereirão wich is safe, so dont worry! and has places to eat near to the Hostel with a good price, excellent! And about the Hostel, I felt so conffortable in that house, the family take care of all so well, the kids are amazing and Dona Neia is wonderfull women. The size of the room couple is perfect, and has even a balcony to lay down at night that is so quiet and peaceful. The breakfast is made with love you can feel it seeing the tiny details all over the food and the house. The rooftop is the best part because you can see Rio and chill, at night the lights are so brighter that warms my heart, I mean, I susppicious to describe the view because I am not from RIO but my hearts belongs to that city. I will return, for sure, because was the one of best trip and place that I stayed in RIO, and because I promissed to the kid, Neia's son, that we will go skate together.
Nothing. I liked and loved everything
