The apartment had been upgraded since our last visit and that was a pleasant surprise! Looked beautiful and was a pleasant environment to live in during our stay. Location, of course, is stunning. Staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful.
Squeaking doors😩 such an irritation…. Need some oil. Also, could use some instructions for the TV and for the heating. We did have an issue working the radiator when the chill of the evening came, but the young lady at Reception sorted that out immediately for us.

Beautiful location with great walks on the doorstep . The restaurant and bar were great and very accommodating to my dietary needs
We stayed in Waterhouse Apartment No. 5. It could do with some upgrading but was liveable especially for the rate we paid BUT it was also dirty. Dishes, cutlery were crusty, food splatter on walls & doors, drink rings not wiped. Thankfully the bathroom and bed linen were clean!

Plenty of room, loved the 3 single beds in one room. Beautiful location, right on the water.
The bath needs a bit of tlc, it was very tired looking and in need of updating, it filled with water when shower was on making it very slippy. The couches were in need of a clean, a lot of stains and dirty marks.

Have stayed here for many years
This year a bit disappointing
No complimentary drink on arrival
No complimentary toiletries
No en suite in Waterhouse number 3
Living room furniture not in great shape

Stunning historical setting. Excellent service and food.
Well appointed, spacious rooms and kitchen. Very friendly and attentive staff. Access to superb pool and spa. Loved staying for 5 days, plan to stay longer

I stayed in one of the Waterhouses, which are directly on the river with lovely views. You enter into a spacious hallway that leads into a lounge with a well equipped kitchenette. The bedroom was downstairs and very spacious. There is also plenty of free parking.
Although it was very good accommodation , it was just in need of some TLC.

Great views of the river and river bank from all the windows.
Very spacious bedrooms.
Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed for a bit of self catering.
Furniture in living room was uncomfortable.
TV was small, but we weren’t really there to watch TV.
Could have done with some usb charging points, but that’s being a bit picky.

We would love to recommend the Waterhouses but lack of supervision and attention to detail let the whole experience down.
Even the tongues in the kitchen were rusty.
We would definitely return if we could be sure appropriate changes were made

It had beautiful views over the Clyde and was a really good size for a family. The access to the pool and other facilities was great.

The view is absolutely stunning
The noise at nighttime isn’t good for light sleepers, as you hear the rushing of the river constantly. Bit disappointed that there was no milk for teas and coffees. We where there for 3 nights although we where only left one towel each with no housekeeping throughout

Lovely setting, by the river
Bit remote, needed a car to get to nearest town for shops and restaurants, although there is a bar and restaurant on site. The water houses have no outdoor space/seating are, which was a shame as the weather was so good. There are some picnic benches around the old mill/museum area.

The location was fantastic and the view out the window was amasing

Quiet location - a proper getaway. Well equipped cottage. Interesting area.
Interior showing signs of age and a little tired.

Beautiful accommodation, location on river great.
No tea and coffee on arrival, usually there is some welcome pack but not here.

Location and lovely view of the river. Kitchen well appointed and bedroom superb.
Steep stairs separated from bedroom - quite dodgy in the middle of the night.

these Waterhouses are amazing they have everything u need for a comfy stay , fantastic views , peaceful, amazing hotel staff , the receptionists in hotel are amazing and couldn’t do enough for you . 10/10 .
we have been coming to the new lanark hotel for around 15 years and have never had one problem.
bad internet signal, there’s only one tv downstairs (bedrooms) should be one in both rooms .

Great location and near to family. Self catering is really great.
Looks tired and needs some updating. dishwasher didn’t work and kitchen was old with broken cupboards.
Sauna not working and needs a better ale selection at the bar.
Restaurant menu does not match what is offered online and again could do with some TLC.

We've stayed in the hotel and in the Waterhouse accommodation a few times now. We love coming here as the whole experience never fails to impress.
We'll definitely be back!
Everything very good, apart from dodgy toaster tripping the power supply

The history and area are fascinating
Not quite ready on arrival, linen and towels that had been used, still un bagged and left on the floor.

location was brilliant
radiator in the hall didn’t work and there was only one radiator in very large downstairs bedroom which wasn’t enough to heat the room as it was minus 10degrees outside. radiator in small bathroom downstairs didn’t work either but property was brilliant otherwise.

We had an amazing anniversary weekend at New Lanark. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

warm and perfect for a relaxing stay. great location
Toilet on different level from bedroom with steep stairs with raised edges made it painful on bare feet on bathroom visits through the night. Room for a small en-suite in bedroom would have been ideal

Stayed in one of the waterhouses, self contained and fully equipped which was perfect for our holiday. Room was right on the river front, beautiful! Restaurant was amazing. History of the heritage site and the visitor centre was also fantastic.

The museum and the look of the wee town is a magical wee place just let down with the service
Well the cottage was dirty, spider webs everywhere, last guests rubbish still in bin . also found a door that led to tunnels little freaked out by this and couldn't sleep fof the 3 nights. Booked in for spa it was nightmare from get go, I booked spa online and paid and awaited for confirmation none was given. Phoned spa and reception was good enough to make sure I was booked in however on day of spa I wasn't booked in. Had to re go over what had happened I was then asked for times for lunch as this was part of my deal I arranged 2pm . Went for lunch not booked in then it ran into it's own fiasco with the staff I was then spoke to be 2 other staff from spa and they arranged my lunch and this happened in the bar area fof my lunch felt horrified and embarrassed not the best way to end your spa. . I fully understand the staff are run ragged but surely there needs to be better management. Unfortunately will not be back to such a beautiful location.
