There's far more here than meets the eye from the street.

The breakfast is a hearty mix of middle-European (the proprietor is German) and Turkish dishes delivered to tables which are set on a wooden platform in the garden next to the kitchen. The rooms, which likewise open onto the garden, form a quadrangle that seem to have begun as a religious cloister in the Middle Ages. Certainly, a new arrival in the street could not imagine so much living space behind the cloister's outer wall, before an employee comes to unlock the door and guests are admitted into the courtyard. The rooms within are spacious enough for both a couch and a writing desk, along with a comfortable king-size bed. Outside the bedroom door to the garden one finds a table and chairs for those who smoke or imbibe, or else want to gaze at the stars overhead. Located at the edge of town, this boutique hotel is barely 200 m from the cable cars that in daylight whisk tourists up to the ancient Greek acropolis of Pergamon, with its remnants of one of the ancient world's greatest libraries and a huge stone theatre, each of which looms over the modern city of Bergama and its wide valley set between a range of low mountains.

The swimming pool is very small, tucked into a corner near a passageway connecting the garden rooms with an interior compound. And while every effort has been made to preserve the historic character of the space, the wooden floors of the rooms and trestle walkways located on the second storey create quite a clatter for guests sleeping in the ground-floor rooms.

False advertising - downgraded

Great beds, very friendly staff and owner, great location, lovely in the courtyard, great breakfast

CAUTION false advertising. There is no gym (main reason for my booking). Not sure what else is false on their ads. Got downgraded because I travel alone (still paid the full price), never was the room 50m², the "view" was from below the staircase, many spots in the room were dirty.

Os funcionários eram muito atenciosos, prestáveis e simpáticos. Quarto limpo, confortável e muito bem decorado. Terraço exterior muito acolhedor, podem beber ou comer lá. Bastante variedade e oferta de comida e bebida. Pequeno almoço com produtos típicos, mas óptimos! Tudo muito saboroso. Pessoas com muita atenção ao detalhe e a fazer de tudo para estarmos confortáveis. Com certeza iremos aconselhar este hotel. Foi perfeito! Muito obrigada 🤩

Good location and comfortable

Comfortable room and beds. Great luxurious shower. Beds were medium firm high quality foam mattress. There was seating on the porch outside. Breakfast was good.

The room was set up for two even though we had booked for three. Only two small bottles of water provided. We were able to bring water in from outside but they don’t allow any other outside food or beverages even though we had a private area outside our room. The staff was not particularly friendly or helpful.

Looks nice but feels like prison

Beautiful decorum with green courtyard, spacious family rooms.

We didn’t feel welcome. First question when entering the entry door was what ‘room number’, instead of ‘welcome’. After payment, they tell you that there is no such thing as your private balcony and everything you eat or drink outside your room must be from the restaurant. When you ask about it, the owner comes angry to you. Wifi only works through a Turkish mobile number (reception will use their mobile number). Camera’s everywhere, also directed at your face at the swimming pool. If taking a swim, staff comes after a minute to check. Hotel looks nice, but feels like prison. Never again.

A Great Find in Bergama

This is a great place! The room was super comfortable and included a ceiling fan. Breakfast was very large and provided lots of options.

Great stay

The hotel was fantastic. The courtyard was so pretty and the rooms were beautiful. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We also had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and both were very good.

The single beds in the family room were not very comfortable.

The rooms were spacious and very comfortable, providing everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The hotel owners were also exceptional - they were friendly and accommodating, and went above and beyond to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

The place is beautiful. The room is big and everything is new and clean. Also, very well decorated. The staff is very nice and kind. We had a problem with the shower and they fixed it immediately. Breakfast is delicious and varied. We also have dinner and was very good.

this place was an absolute hidden gem. The room was extremely comfortable and we had everything we needed. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and also enjoyed a bottle of wine in front of the fire which was an absolute highlight. Gorgeous super relaxing place.

What a beautiful underrated place! I'm driving around Turkey for 45 days and I was apprehensive that hotels in Bergama might not be so good so I only scheduled a stay for 1 night, but this place has completely altered my view. I wish I had planned to stay here longer. Atellos suites not only exceeded my expectation, it made me want to come here again and stay for longer just for this hotel. The host was gracious and kind, the food was amazing. Lamb Chops and Adana Kebab were delicious, so was the wine. Our room and bathroom was clean and spacious with cute decor. I highly recommend it to anyone planning to visit the historical city of Bergama.

Very mediocre and felt like a scam

The hosts were very friendly and some spoke English, but that's about it.

They advertised parking, but had none. Had to park on the street, unsecure and unsafe. Breakfast was trash, dinner food undercooked, overpriced, we got charged something like 67 euros a night, while the native Turks or other residents appeared to pay lesser rates. Very questionable.

If you are in Bergama, definitely choose this hotel.

Beautiful, spacious rooms in antique style, clean and comfortable. Pleasant, friendly staff. Good breakfast. The opportunity to warm up by the fireplace in the evenings, ordering delicious wine. Convenient location in historical sites. Nice Bergama adventure 🦍🐢😻

one night stay

It is a very nice and cozy place. Very good to relax if you have a road trip in Turkey. We had two rooms, both of them were big with nice decorations. The yard is very nice as well. We had a dinner and breakfast both simply delicious. the services is perfect. we really enjoyed everything and recommend the place .

The whole experience was first class!!!!

The whole place was beautiful. Immaculate attention to detail from the bathroom, the bedroom, fixtures and fittings, the courtyard and the dining area as well. Although we had seen a picture of our room, the rest was a great surprise. The warm log fire and exception decor meant we ate there both nights of our stay. The food was great and good value for money. They had an excellent range of wines. There were 2 waiters who spoke very good English and couldn’t do enough for you. We saw more of Tarik, who was extremely patient whilst we chose and was extremely knowledgeable. The staff are a credit to the owner. It s probably one of the best places we’ve stayed in the many years of travelling around Turkey snd we d be back in a flash. It had a great location for all the sites, all within comfortable walking distance.

This is a good option for this town and we enjoyed our stay.

breakfast and diner at the restaurant were excellent. staff were friendly. The room was clean.

There is a list of rules including you are not allowed to eat or drink your own food and beverages for hygiene reason. To use wifi you need to put your passport number to log in and telephone number.

A characterful, secluded setting well located for visiting Bergama and its ancient sights

The hotel is in a characterful group of buildings set around a couple of very attractive courtyards which make it feel like an oasis of calm set aside from the busy streets of Bergama. Rooms and facilities are generous and we enjoyed the courtyard as a setting for breakfasts, dinner and drinks, plus using the small pool to cool down after visting the sights. The hotel is well located for walking to the main historic sites and exploring the historic centre of Bergama.

Hidden treasure

This is a hidden treasure. Behind the doors to the hotel unfolds a beautiful inner coutyard. There is a lot of love in details. Perfectly located to walk to Pergamon/Akropolis and the Red Hall.

Due to some staff schedule conflicts we had a rather "basic" welcome/check-in.

All things considered I would really recommend staying here. Excellent value for money.

The privacy, security and cosiness of the enclosed courtyard was great. A table and chairs outside your room facing into it was really good. Food and breakfast was very good. The cable car up to the Acropolis is only a 5 min walk one way and the town about 10 mins the other way.

Limited on street parking outside.

Wonderful stay at a wonderful place!

The property is really a gem! When you enter through the big gate you feel like you are in a different world! Such a beautiful and serene place! The staff (especially Murat) is super nice and helpful and the breakfast was incredible and just the right amount of food (we really dislike food waste). Our room was perfect! It was very spacious, had a great size bath and the bed was comfortable. The property also has a pool to hang out and relax! All in all we will come back to this magical place!

I think the internet connection could be improved. In our room the connection was not very good but we actually didn't really need internet that time. Another thing I noticed which is very minimal are the curtains. They are not black out curtains. So if you don't have a deep sleep the light of the sunrise might wake you up earlier than you planned.
