We had an amazing time at Mr Bun’s homestay. We arrived extremely early in the morning - with the night bus - and we were picked up from the bus station for 3 dollars extra. We could check in early at 8 am and were served homemade pancakes and mango from the garden. Mr Bun drove us around the temples and helped with everything we needed. We spent the evening at the place with family friends and we were recommended a certified guide to show the Angkor temples the following days. We spent the evening with the local people eating amazing food and in great company. Mr Bun and his friends (professional tuk tuk drivers) drove us to the airport. We really felt welcome and treated as family. It was a truly beautiful experience and I recommend it to everyone who stops in Seam Reap.
The property is a bit far from the city centre but Mr Bun can organise the transfer for you.

I stayed with Bun and his family for an entire month whilst I was volunteering in Siem Reap, and I could not have made a better decision. I truly felt like one of the family. Bunyong Homestay is a perfect combination of simple comforts whilst experiencing local life, a quiet and peaceful accommodation that still allows you to meet other travelers almost every night at family dinner. The room was big, clean and comfortable and the food delicious and fresh. Bun will also help you organise tours and activities throughout Siem Reap. Cannot recommend enough, thank you Bun, Michelle and family.
Everything was amazing :)

Bun was so incredibly nice to me during my stay here. He was gracious enough to pick me up from the National Road 6 once my minivan dropped me off in the evening, and then take me to my appointment on the way to town the next morning. When we arrived to the house I was immediately welcomed as a part of the family. The dinner was delicious, and he made sure to have enough vegetarian options for me. Breakfast included fresh mangos and bananas from his farm - so yummy. He even gave me a bag of mangos to take with me! Very nice people here, good energy.
The dogs on the road to his house were aggressive towards me and chased me on the bike. It felt unsafe to leave at night. Room was quite small and I had to duck to get into the bathroom (I am very tall however).

Amazing homestay - Bun is a brilliant host with a lovely group of family and friends who help the guests (a big thank you to Michelle for cooking and the one and only Champion!)
Staying here was an amazing chance to meet and talk with local people and really get an experience of Cambodian hospitality!
Beyond the incredible people, it's definitely worth highlighting that the food is incredible (we tried crickets, they were great!) and the home itself is comfortable, clean and well maintained.
Bun, thank you for letting us be a part of your home and family - we'll never forget it and hope to see you again soon!
Nothing really to dislike, just worth noting that you're a 15 min drive ($3 tuk tuk) from the more "central" part of Siem Reap, but a little closer to Angkor Wat and the airport

It was great to meet James and his friends who are great fun. As a host James couldn’t do enough for us and it was lovely to meet his family. The dinner cooked by James mum was delicious and breakfast was good also. The room was very spacious, comfy and good Aircon. It was a great experience to stay at Bunyong.
The bathroom wasn’t very clean and the property is a little far out of town

Bun and his family provide the warmest of welcomes into their home and real insight into Cambodian life. This is a place to stay if you want to immerse yourself rather than a traditional hotel. we ate delicious home cooked food with the family and gained the benefit of Bun’s wide ranging knowledge , good humour and understanding of current issues. we were also fortunate that he was able to guide us so expertly around the Angkor sites. a truly memorable few days.

Amazing experience of the real cambodia. Mr Bun, along with his family and friends make you feel so welcome and part of the family/community from the first day until the last. All activities/tours/transfers to and from airport were easily arranged and at such good value. An exceptional host, offering advice on all things whether that is what to do and when to do it or just a new perspective of the world. Always with a smile and such a refreshing attitude. I cannot wait to return to see my new Cambodian extended family.
Not much to say here and I like to complain and have a good moan as much as anyone! As with most places in this area of the world bring mosquito repellant as even though it is within 10-15 minutes of Siem Reap you will be in a picturesque rural landscape, a pleasant oasis after the hustle and bustle of places like phnom Penh.

Bun's Homestay is an amazing experience. If you want to step out of the western city and into authentic Cambodian living then I would recommend here. The food prepared by his family on an evening is amazing. To top it off, We were extremely fortune to be invited by Bun to join a Khmer wedding and a Buddhist festival. Fantastic stay.

Absolutely everything else! Bun and his family are so welcoming and genuine. The shared meals were delicious and fun. The team of guys that help with tuk tuk tours are great, the prices are standard and fair. If you can, spend a little more ask Bun himself to be your actual guide, he is very knowledgeable and we had wonderful, in-depth conversations about not just the history, but the philosophy (and practice) of Buddhism and Hinduism. As well as the homestay and tours caring and providing for his family, he also uses the proceeds and any additional donations to run two small schools that he founded, giving children of all ages opportunities that they would not have otherwise! Honestly, the whole experience was authentic, enriching and will remain close to my heart for a long time to come.
Some issues with the bathroom. Bun is aware and working hard to fix them!
