Felt like Robinson Crusoe with a private chef on this lush stretch of beach.

The place and its location are simply mesmerising. Yussi welcomed us amazingly and her food is delicious. We had the luck to be the only guests in the entire structure and the feeling was the same as being alone on a peaceful desert island.
Everything was amazing, no doubts why the place is called the way it is!

Amazing hidden property on the beach, it really is paradise on earth. It’s nothing but the sound of the ocean and birds, perfect place to relax and recharge. Yusi is the lady taking care of the property, she cooked delicious food and is so so nice (I had a cold and she did everything to make me feel better) and the owner Guillén was super helpful in coordinating transportation and arrival.
The fact that I didn’t stay longer :)

The location is a dream, direct access to amazing Mecana beach, where we met almost nobody, so we felt we have few kilometers if beach for our family! Palm trees, super soft sand and few steps mangrove forest and a nice tiver with colorful houses of super friendly local families. The rooms are super simple, but comfy, if you believe in a sustainable lifestyle the place is for you.
Free time activities provided are amazing like whale watching, waterfall or Jardin Botanico and the flora and fauna in the mangrove forest.
The best and biggest asset of the whole place is Yussi, she is an ANGEL!!! She was our mama here, cooked absolutely amazing, fresh, tasty food, took care of our family we felt like athome. She was so helpful,so lovely, we all loved her! We almost cried when left the place, definitely come back!!

The location, at the beach, in front of the mangrove and the hospitality of the host was was lovely. The accomodation and area is clean and nicely decorated. Beds are good and the sound of the waves make you sleeo immediately. Internet/mobile network is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. From the accomodation you can hike through the Botanical garden or take a kayak to discover the mangroves.

The hostess Yussy was the best. Her meals are amazing: fresh, healthy and delicious. She did everything for us, she is so nice. The trips they provide are amazing and the place & location itself is a dream.
This was the highlight of my trip to Colombia.

Yussi was a great hostess, a really kind lady and a great cook. The location on the beach was great.
It was pretty rustic, so the prices seemed a bit high for what we got. But Yussi’s friendly personality made up for it.

This was one of the best holidays i ever had. A place completely lost, where you can enjoy 4km of beach just for you. Doris is incredible and will take care of your stomach all the time. I would rate my overall trip 20/10 but this score doesn't exist unfortunately.
If you look for a real place to be out of the system, where you dont worry about food, never watch the time and obviously no internet either, this is the place to be! Relax take a swim, walk in the selva and watch the ballenas in August!
Special thanks to doris who was really lovely and kind all the time. To be honest plane at least 3 or 4 days as everyrjing is so slow there you might get caught in the pacific vibes!
Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Set on a beautiful black sand beach between the Pacific Ocean and the mangrove this place is something special. While there are similar places within walking distance it really feels like you are completely on your own. Supposedly you can walk from the town (Bahía Solano) but I recommend that you travel by boat (approximately 15 minutes along the coast). This should be arranged with the caretaker as well as food. This is not included in the price on Booking.com but WhatsApp and some Spanish proficiency (or machine translation) is your friend.
I believe we were the first guests to stay at the new lodge that is placed behind the old one. The accommodation is simple but also just right with a mosquito net on each bed (not that we were bothered by mosquitoes), a fan and a toilet with a shower. While there are lamps in and around I suggest bringing a headlamp if you like to read in the dark.
The (typical Colombian) food was amazing. The caretaker pampered us every day asking us what we would like, when we wanted to eat, bringing coffee in the morning, making lunch boxes when we were going on tour etc. If more groups visit the place at the same time she might not be quite as flexible but we certainly enjoyed the tailored service.
You can relax in one of the hammocks and this might be the best option while you are waiting for a torrential shower to pass. The beach has a mostly flat profile and a significant tide. However, at high tide the profile becomes steep and with the swell coming in I recommend to only get into the water if you have some swimming proficiency. We borrowed a sit-on-top kayak for two (and possibly a small child) and two body boards.
The caretaker brought us to a local village and a waterfall in his boat. You can also walk around five minutes along the beach to Mecana Ecohotel where they can arrange for trips in the jungle or to the Utría National Park. Quite surprisingly, that lodge has WiFi.
