Buganvilia Holidays Alvor

Spacious 2 bed apartment with 4 balconies. Good location with a short walk into Alvor town. The pools were great, and always plenty of sunbeds.

There was a focus on their gym membership, which was entirely separate from the apartments. Weights in the gym were being lifted and dropped all day. Dogs barking all day from the house adjacent to the pool area.

We were so impressed with our stay. It was clean, comfortable, safe and excellent value for money.

We had a great stay for 8 nights in a 2 bed apartment. Family of 4 with two kids of 3 years and 11 months old. The apartment was perfect for us- spacious and clean. The kitchen was well equiped with all the usual cookware / utensils. We really appreciated the washing machine, clothes drying rack, baby high chair and travel cot which all made our stay easier. The showers were powerful with plenty of hot water for shower/bath/dishes etc. We had our towels changed every day except Monday, and they offered to clean kitchen/bathrooms and make beds but we declined several days as baby was napping. The street is quiet and safe, and it's an easy walk to the centre of Alvor and plenty of restaurants and bars. The large private gym in the complex is open long hours but we were never disturbed by noise or the customers. The pools were clean with plenty of sunbeds and umbrella shades- we were there in early May and had the pool area to ourselves most days as it was still off season. The kids pool is 0.6m deep so great for our 3 year old but a little deep for the baby so we used a ring float. The main pool ranges from 0.9 to 2.4 metres deep. The shutters on the bedroom windows were incredible for blackout, making nap time easy!!! Check out was super simple, we just left the keys in the apartment and pulled the door behind us.

We really can't complain about anything. The bath towels could maybe do with an upgrade. We didn't do a lot of cooking so it wasn't an issue for us, but it's worth noting the kitchen is not stocked with oil/salt/pepper etc. We didn't watch TV but if you are looking for TV, there were 2 English channels with ok signal.

Memorable

Buganavilia came to the rescue after our airbnb host cancelled at the last minute and also allowed as to bring our cat, had they said no, we would have been stuck for alternatives at the time of year and amount of notice. The apartment and facilities were great. The staff are helpful and friendly and the location is ideal. Parking is ample and the kitchen facilities and utensils are more than adequate for cooking meals.

excellent location

appeared to be an issue with ants in the kitchen. a number of days there was no hot water. Issue with washing machine and could also doing with getting some new towels

Delighted with our relaxing stay

The location of these apartments is excellent - about a 3 minute walk and you're in the centre of town. Apartments are exceptionally clean and well equipped (including dishwasher and washing machine). The pool is quiet and clean. There is a gym on site (you pay extra).

Not for you if you want a bar and restaurant on site. But you're minutes away from these.

Great sized apartment, in a great location.

Reception was in the gym which is fine. Note the Gym and Apartments are different operations. Size of the apartment for a family of 4 was perfect. Location was excellent, close enough to the centre and to easy walk to explore the beaches and the area.

Next door's Dog was very loud and barked most fo the night, you do get used to it but it is annoying. Some elements of the apartment are basic and ageing, but nothing that should put you off.

Accommodation quiet, safe and clean, convenient to centre and beach.

Quiet location, very safe. A short walk to the town centre and the beach. Very clean, all staff very friendly. Swimming pool area clean and private. Organised the taxi to and from airport. Very quick response from Isa always. We had a wonderful holiday.

Getting in and out of Bath for shower could be improved e.g. a bar to hold on to. As glass is fixed it is not easy. Recommended for all ages. Lots of cold water wasted while waiting on hot water in shower.

Apartment was much bigger than expected, v comfy with good amenities. Location was excellent and quiet. Pool area really clean and nice.

Spacious units . Good location walking distance to the centre.

Towels need to be changed they are very thin and old. Beds are quite hard. Dogs next door are constantly barking, when you sit by the pool or trying to sleep at night not restful at all.

A fantastic, fantastic holiday!

The apartment was spacious, modern and well equipped including washing machine, dishwasher, kettle, fridge freezer etc. We needed a coffee machine and the cleaner was too happy to oblige and go and get one from another apartment. The view from the balcony is fab with a great view of the sea, we spotted 2 shooting stars. The salt water pool was lovely with plenty of sun loungers and it was big enough that you could have a decent swim if you’re that way inclined or just for relaxing, there was a smaller pool as well. Every room has air con and the area was lovely and quiet for a chilled out evening drinking Sagres and wine on the balcony. We were just above the gym but it didn’t bother us at all. You collect the key from the gym, follow the signs for reception (you may think it’s pointing to the gym reception). It’s 5 minutes walk from the main bar street and the harbour, 3 minute walk from Intermarche and from the main front beach 10 mins. If we return to Alvor we will be returning here.

We loved the entire trip, the only thing I did notice is some small things were starting to come loose, the air conditioning remote holder and the toilet roll holder in the en suite bathroom. We weren’t a fan of the top blanket on the bed it was quite scratchy. The second bedroom window opens out on to the corridor so we kept the blind shut in there.

A little treasure in middle of Alvor

All!, the apartment is a wonderful piece in middle of Alvor, with a lot of options close to them. Beautiful views (rural but beautiful), a great swing pool... what I can said... Excellent...

Contact with administration was not easy, maybe it was my mistake but I cannot find a place to direct contact with management, etc. BUT service in any case was great... Maybe someone could blame about the gym (sound) but honestly in our case it's not a big issue.
