When we arrived check in was easy! Nev and Debbie were very accommodating if we needed anything. Loved how the guests are able to share grocery items with other guests. Small private, 3 min walk to the beach and beautiful waters with only a few tourists on the beach. The dogs seemed pretty passive during the week. The bus stop was a few minutes walk to the road. You can wave the bus down anywhere in Rarotonga and be dropped off anywhere on the main road. Choice of 2 buses to catch, clockwise or anticlockwise buses around the island. Bus drivers will drop you wherever you want. There was a basic continental breakfast on offer on arrival. Nice place to travel if you just want to rest or if you like to do some water tours, fishing, snorkling, swim with turtles. Very grateful to Seasalt takeaways for the amazing burgers at 9pm on the Monday night 1st night on the island, Filipino staff were lovely. They were supposed to be closing but stayed open a little bit longer for us. The banana cake at the Plaza was the best, Mareko's is good place to shop for shirts and sarongs. It was not hot at all.
Buses are $5 NZ dollars per ride. Taxis are $20 per person. Both taxis and buses have flat rates so distance is not relevant. If you buy a concession card with 10 rides, you can save yourself $15. You can buy this from the driver. It's good to rent your own car so you can go inland a bit rather than just circling the island. The markets only have a few stalls and are quite pricey. The Muri night market is food only. Very disappointed when we bought churros that did not come with chocolate sauce but possibly peanut sauce which tasted the worst and the service when we asked for chocolate sauce was non responsive. We also mentioned that people allergic to peanuts could have been in serious trouble. Felt disappointed with the customer service from the locals given that they are a nation that seems to thrive on tourism, beyond the Kia orana there was nothing much else. We found the Samoans, Fijians, and Filipino to be consistently kind and welcoming.

Very comfortable with everything we needed for a week’s stay. Great location for excellent snorkelling - just a short walk to the beach.
Nev, the owner, is very friendly and generous and made us feel very welcome
Nothing negative at all

Ease of communication with owner and fact he was on-site. A very comfy, affordable, fully-contained bungalow just 5 minutes walk to beach and bus stop.
Little ants everywhere but maybe an issue at resorts also?

Very kind hosts, lots of dishes, towels, and books to borrow! Very close to the best snorkeling spot on the island (about a 500m walk). We had a lovely time here.

This host was amazing!!
The breakfast and fresh fruit left in the room was lovely!
My only comment would be that the room was really hot, no aircon and the little fan did not do much :-(

Nev was incredibly welcoming and kind to myself and partner, helped us arrange an extra night as due to time zones I had messed up my booking- nothing was an issue, and we would recommend to everyone and stay again ourselves

Very friendly, helpful hosts but still felt like we had a totally private space to ourselves. Lovely garden area. Had a lovely local stay feel. Close to best snorkelling area on the island. Offered all the little extras like a fresh fruit in the unit on arrival, free snorkelling gear, a large variety of books/magazines to borrow. Great value for money.

The apartment had lots of facilities and was self sufficient. The snorkelling around the area was great and we enjoy making the most of the Rarotongan restaurant for a sunset dinner nearby nearby. The host was really friendly and relaxed with lot of tips!
Some of dogs on the road in but once you got used to them they weren't so bad

Nice deck, good sized unit, fine for 3.

Very near to the Rarotongan Hotel, and a good snorkelling beach.

Great quite spot with stunning tropical garden around each bungalow. Nev is a pro operator and will go above and beyond. We were upgraded to a bungalow and enjoyed free use of snorkeling gear so we could take advantage of the pristine beaches a 300m walk away. Kitchen was very well equipped with a bonus high spec BBQ on the deck. Also had nice mountain views. If it's raining there are many books, games and DVD to keep you occupied.
Like much of the island, dogs and roosters roam around and can wake you at any hour but that's island life. Wifi is tricky if you need to keep on top of your emails etc, but that is true to the whole island.

Great location near Aroa beach and just 5 mins walk to shops. Comfortable and spacious living area. Lot's of little extras provided that make you really feel welcome (access to borrow a mask and snorkel, fruit on a platter on arrival, etc).
There wasn't really anything to dislike

for one thing we stayed there 3 weeks end we had 18 days bad weather, could not be helped. But we have now decided not to go to Rarotonga again!
The island is around 16 kms around end then you have seen it quickly driving around in a rentel car.
We hope to go to Bali next end hopefully it' s a lot cheaper aswel!!
