A bit disappointing

Location

Room is very cold heating doesn’t come on till 4:30 pm doesn’t matter how cold it is outside so don’t enter your room before 430pm Food wasn’t hot enough either

Pleasant to stay.

Menu choice was good. Food prepared well. Staff were helpful and accommodating. The reception was great (Rita). Made to feel very welcome.

The sensor switch in the bathroom could be on a longer time delay. Although a PIR this was not notified. Spent time looking for the switch. The door handles (Room 6) were stiff to turn. Maybe a lever handle for guests that could have hand issues. Had to park away from the hotel because of christmas lights.

Overall good stay room is very spacious and clean stuff friendly would highly recommend

Very quaint in a lovely village staff, very attentive and very friendly, easy check-in and checkout

The only disappointment for me was the breakfast. I ordered two poached eggs and unfortunately they were hard boiled poached although my husband’s breakfast was exceptional.

We had a really good time there.

Very pretty location. Would have loved a continental breakfast and a slightly softer bed but that is being picky. Staff were lovely, they very kindly returned my hat to me. Evening meal we had was very good.

A historical gem

Great position..lovely historic village

Quite noisy with traffic...and we could definitely have done with a fan in the room

Really nice place to stay in a quiet village close to Longleat . Staff were lovely . Food was great

Dinner - was excellent , staff were extremely helpful Breakfast was perfect

Daughter has allergies so had to request a made up meal during dinner as no vegan / gluten free meal on menu and breakfast was tricky. BUT staff were extremely eagre to accomodate her and her needs. SO am hoping they will put the Advocado, olive salad on the menu as a regular option for vegan / gluten free customers as my daughter loved it.

A good place to stay if going to the West Country. Would definitely recommend it

Warm, friendly and welcoming staff, went the extra mile. Breakfast was delicious and good choices.

Everything was fine, but only fine. It lacked that extra bit over and above the essential. The bathroom extractor fan didn't work and there were signs of mould.

Great little venue great food great staff.

The staff where very nice and very helpful as was the breakfast and the venue. Comfortable beds and vey clean rooms would highly recommend this place to everyone we will be using the George again in the near future.

Ideal location for our get together with friends. Would go back

The ambiance was great. Fab outdoor patio, plenty of space comfy seating. Food was freshly made and tasty (Tapas night)

A wonderful welcome great food comfortable beds wonderful stay

The hotel was full of character the owners made our stay perfect beautiful breakfast lovely clean food area and beautiful room with lovely view we couldn’t fault it and am going back in September

For us it was perfect but it is better if u have a car to be nearer things but it didn’t bother us

Brilliant!!

Fantastic stay over and wonderful breakfast . You can see the owners put everything into it and you can tell. Lovely welcome at 10.00pm and an even better breakfast prepared for us as we were leaving so early. Wish we stayed for longer.
