Very Bad Hotel Stay Experience at Howard Johnson Kolkata Check-in Date: 23/06/24 Check-out Date: 24/06/24 I am Shah Md Bahadur Alam , Nationality Bangladesh , I recently stayed at Howard Johnson Kolkata, and my experience was extremely disappointing. From the moment I checked in, the problems began. The hotel room was surprisingly small, making it difficult to move around comfortably. Despite being promised complimentary tea and coffee, none were available in the room. Adding to the inconvenience, there were no towels or tissues provided, which is a basic necessity. The Wi-Fi speed was incredibly poor, making it nearly impossible to get any work done or even browse the internet. The worst part of my stay was the behavior of the manager and executive staff. They were rude and unhelpful, which made the entire experience even more unpleasant. Overall, my stay at Howard Johnson Kolkata was far from satisfactory, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Great value for money with friendly staff

The staff were all great, in particular Abdul from housekeeping and all of the restaurant staff. The gym, while a little small, is a nice additional facility offered by the hotel.

My only suggestion would be to replace the plastic bottled water in the rooms with reusable glass water bottles like those in the restaurant, to be more environmentally friendly.

Other than proximity to the airport, nothing much that this place had to offer

I would say for the name tag of Wyndham this doesn’t in any way live up to the standards expected from a place affiliated with Wyndham. We had requested for an airport pick up as we arrived very early in the morning however we did not receive the service moreover when we arrived at the hotel, we had to wait for 10mins for a person to report to the reception to receive us, in spite of giving a heads up to the hotel of our early arrival.

- Extremely dirty wooden floor - Broken Tap at the washroom - Rotten sweet served with North Indian Thali - Rude Behavior of manager and reception staff - Dirty corridors corner, kept with all kinds of room cleaning stuff just next to the queen suit room. - View outside of the queen suit room is just a dumping ground with full of garbage, waste dump, broken toilet seats thrown, a total mess view. - Sent a message to the property for airport pick up request through booking.com, which has delivered instantly however no response received neither car came to airport for pickup at airport. When I landed and called them to confirm they were showing attitude by saying that we didn’t receive any message from booking.com and can’t possible to arrange car at this short time and minimum it will take 30 min to arrange the transport. That means I had to wait at the airport with 1 kid and 1 infant in arm. Extremely heartbreaking.

Waste of money

Nothing, made a big mistake choosing this hotel for family stay at this price.

Dirty rooms rude behavior of staff, bad quality food outside view of queen suit is waste dumping area, Corridors area next to queen suit door is also a waste dumping area. Hot corridors near elevator and stairs case.

Enjoy your trips with Haward Johnson - the committed one

Near to Airport, clean, staffs with good behaviour, management is flexible and cooperative. They found committed and do not exaggerate anything. Room and window view is nice. Safety and security seems nice. We enjoyed our staying.

Location is far from Central Kolkata. Cooking can be improved. Some more items can be added like tooth paste, tooth brash etc.

See room options before taking your bags in. SPA guys will bother unnecessarily. Hotel Staff is very good.

Some rooms are not so clean some are, choose a room for cleanliness if possible. Staff is way to courteous. Well mannered and well trained. 10 on 10 on staff behaviour.

SPA guys are cheese, they call you again and again on room phone even if you don’t need any of there services. Very shady too.

Finally we must say we are happy with Howard Johnson and wishing them for success in business.

The Room, staffs, cleanliness, surrounding and near to Airport all are very nice. That's why I extend my stay here until 26 of July 2023. Earlier we planned to stay here 3 days and then shift to Central Kolkata but finally we change our plan as we found all other things are excellent.

Distance from Central Kolkata is a problems but it does not take much more time to get there. The hospitals are nearby that's a plus point. Also they have scope to improve their cooking.

Good comfortable and functional option for airport transitors for a moderate price

The ambient and the aroma scent throughout the entire facility.

The door to the room was defect and would not close and needed to be repaired during my stay. The spa staff was too enthusiastic to sell and kept calling me multiple times during my stay creating a disturbing feeling. Less is more in this case. The bathroom is only functional but not very inviting. The floor and corners of the bathroom were not 100% clean.
