Good base to sightsee Edinburgh

Close-ish to the center, nice host and a good breakfast

Good location, good value, pleasant room

The room was tastefully furnished and quiet. The host's selection of hot breakfast creations are unusual and tasty. Near to a busy bus route into town.

Charming and cosy bed in breakfast

The room we stayed in had a lot of charm and character with a mix between victorian and oriental (as the owner who is originally from singapore incorporated elements from asia into the decor). The owner was very friendly and accommodating (esp. as we were staying over christmas period). The bed and pillows was very cosy and i wished I had booked an extra night or two.

Except those two things that we didn’t like, everything was really good.

The host was really nice, friendly, very helpful. He allowed us to check-in a couple of hours early which was really helpful. The property is about 15minutes away from town centre and you have 2 buses to take you to the property from town and 3 that takes you to town.

Walls are really thin I could hear the old couple in the room next to us having sex on our first night there and the toile was not clean.

I had high expectations due to ratings but disappointed with the rooms

Breakfast was really good. Owner was very kind and helpful. The location of the guest house is very good!

The room was very small and dingy. The bathroom was tiny, hardly any space!

Nice stay just outside the city center

Breakfast way okay, but not amazing. It is a quiet neighborhood, and the room was nice, though a little worn down.

It is located around 2 km outside of the city center, but the bus service works well, so it is not too bad.

Warm and welcoming

Our host was exceptionally friendly and helpful. He gave lots of fabulous advice on places to visit, transport, where to eat out etc, and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious and we had a huge choice. A lovely quiet and tranquil location. The bus stop into the city is only a few minutes' walk away and within 15 minutes you're in the middle of beautiful Edinburgh!

In the room that we stayed in, the bed was a little low. But for young or short people it would be absolutely fine! Not many working channels on the television.

Luxurious experience

We arrived late (3 am) and were very warmly greeted. The property was in an exceptional state. The host was very welcoming. The breakfast alone was worth staying at the AmarAgua Guesthouse.

Delightful stay at AmarAgua Guest House!

Our room was on the first floor, it was clean and had the amenities that we need for our stay. Our host was very help in pointing us in the right direction to shop and obtain transportation. The breakfast was prepared fresh each day and delicious.

Our room was small, but we managed to be comfortable.

Exceptional

The owner of the place was very kind. The atmosphere of the guest house was simply perfect. We loved everything. You can get to the old town very easily by bus in 20 minutes.

We would stay again - very comfortable and clean. The host was so friendly and helpful.

The host was fabulous. He met us on arrival and had a lot of knowledge about the city. The room was very comfortable and super clean. The breakfast was lovely also and our host accommodated our early start by providing breakfast earlier than the usual starting time. We really enjoyed our stay and we would stay again. Thank you.

Although a private bathroom, it was not located directly in our bedroom. It was just outside the main room. This was fine, however, it was a little awkward during the night.

Excellent venue, great host and lots of attention to detail!

Loved everything about this place. The host is extremely professional, kind and welcoming. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful and has clearly been furnished with lots of attention to detail. The breakfasts served here only add to the experience. Breakfast is served in a charming, calm dining area and presented beautifully showing more attention to detail and a testament to staff that really cares about their guests. There is ample free street parking and getting to the town center by bus is really easy - it's just a single bus ride away and there's a bus stop right around the corner.

overall our staff was very nice and would definitely recommend Amaragua Guest House

the room was very clean & tidy and you can park on the road outside the property and it was free. the owner was lovely and polite and very helpful

the only nigle we had was our bathroom was outside our room especially if you needed to pop to the loo through the night and the shower cubicle was very small but we managed
